Our extra day this year began with the question, “Have you ever seen the Polanski film Repulsion?” At which point one of our merry group responded, “No. But I’m pretty sure I dated her.” … If nothing else, you should gain some bit of insight into how a few of us viewed the tasks assigned on this “free day” of leap year — as compared to how those same few desired to spend it. Oddly enough the “Let’s have a party!” group significantly outnumbered those in the “Let’s not.” category. And yet, we did not. Apparently not all votes are equal in a company. … That just seems wrong. You just can’t please everyone. Have you ever noticed that? Now probably the “better people” among us have long since stopped trying to do so, but since we have historically eschewed embracing nebulous terms such as “better” we can on occasion find ourselves in a bit of a quandary. Then, naturally, we do whatever the pretty girl wants us to. It’s a simple rule, and one we have no trouble remembering. We love those. Given the fact that a this feature on Michelle Maylene also seems to satisfy a growing number of members that would like us to spend a bit more time on exceptional still photos — as compared to “so many” videos — all in all today seems a worthwhile gesture. Let’s assume that only a very small percentage of our readership remembers Room 222 on television. Well, then, that would mean that a large percentage of these people have never properly lusted after Karen Valentine, and that’s just sad, really. What with today being 2/22, and it being (thus obviously) barely a week after Valentine’s Day, we decided to care for these poor souls with Shayla LaVeaux and Brooklyn Lee, in separate but equally interesting adventures. What more can you say about the Adult Entertainment Expo and AVN Awards show after D.Minion has already given us her “I’m an old dog, and that’s definitely a new trick” analysis of the situation? Well, as with all things in this office of philanthropical intent, first we carefully consider the pros and cons of further commentary. Then we think about global ramifications taken in conjunction with microeconomic impact. Finally we culminate with an evaluation of whether or not the potential action fits within our benevolent dedication to the ultimate evolution of the Divine Human Condition. … Then we do whatever the pretty girl wants us to. At some point people start feeling like birthdays have become more of a sobering, if not depressing, event. Of course this tends to be about the time getting drunk on your birthday seems like a grand ol' plan, oddly enough. If you have a friend with a birthday today, like our Dear Dee, for example, feel free to cheer them up with our usual analysis in just this situation: Birthdays may suck, but they beat the heck out of the alternative of not having them anymore. … And if possible, as with our Dear Dee today, for example, you can show them a bunch of pictures of themselves having a lot of fun naked. Suffice it to say that the AEE went “Whee. Whee. Whee!” all the way home substantially better — at least for the people in attendance — than did the AVN Awards Show this year. True: The event has gone under a marked evolution, but what part of our lives over the last few years has not? True: Despite protestations of open-mindedness in our industry, we as a whole resist the discomfort of change in the same way as does any other group used to some sort of tradition. But also true: No great things have ever been accomplished by simply doing the same thing time after time. Think about it: None of Alexander Graham Bell’s friends looked at him like he was sane when he told them, “You know, I would like to talk to someone who’s not even here.” … Well, odds seem good that the new Adult Entertainment Expo tradition will not make as big of an impact on our lives as did, say, the telephone, but D.Minion nonetheless put on her Bravery Suit and marched defiantly into the foray. … (OK. If you spy a couple of doves copulating while taking your early morning walk, you can tell a few things right off the bat. First, you’re probably not in Los Angeles. Second, Mother Nature did not make that particular act any more graceful for the birds than She did for we mammals. Having now reached a virtual perihelion with the shining Cytherea and her lap dance proficiency via the CyCAM, we move rather quickly into similar basking via an experience showering with Shayla.
