You don’t often get the chance to hear how a woman that has made porn her chosen career for a very long time ever wound up at that decision in the first place. Hey, how many porn stars do most people run into around the office, after all? Well, in our final summer tribute to Wendy Divine (or Maya Divine; we’ll pay tribute to pretty much whatever name she’s using, truth be told.) we let everyone in on her story. As the warm days of the year begin to peter out for most of the country, Wendy just seemed like a wonderful focus to us. After all, if you’ve got your peter out anyway, Wendy’s a darned good thing to think about it seems. [FEATURED TAGS: Wendy Divine]

Wendy and Eric … likely thinking of warm things, actually.

After giving it an admittedly brief period of discussion, between all of the people in the office, we decided that we have met people with the names of every month of the year except October and November. Maybe that means that parent have a thinly-veiled prejudice against early Fall, but we never really got a chance to consider that much, as the conversation quickly transcended into a raucous enjoyment of the names of celebrities’ children. Rather than bore you with our mundane conclusions, although the elder among us do find it still difficult to top “Dweezil” and “Moon Unit” by the way, we should probably just send you on your way with August — she of the august impression. Did you know that “solipsistic” means “the theory that only the self exists, or can be proved to exist” (this according to dictionary.com)? Now we’re not at all sure what this means in the context of our little web blog, but we can tell you that having learned this word now we can save you the trouble of reading a rather lengthy and dull British mystery novel, so that’s a bonus. (And rather than simply give you the name of said book, we thought it best to advise you to avoid all British mystery novels written in the last 20 years, just to be safe.) And while we couldn’t find the technical antonym to solipsistic, we can tell you with confidence that the conclusion of Wendy’s diary of her time at Hedonism III in Jamaica would certainly fall into the non-solipsistic category, wherever the existential-minded might find that. For our part, we feel that the best thing about philosophy in general has to be that one can simply disagree in principle without ever really needing to substantively controvert any assumed facts, because that defines a philosophy, after all. … Fortunately, that will be the extent of deep thinking you’ll find evidence of today, unless many, many pictures of Wendy, Inari, and Becca create them for you. That could happen, theoretically. [FEATURED TAGS: Wendy Divine, Becca, Inari Vachs, Dee]

Nudity as Art. What a concept.

We’ve heard “’tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved before” of course, although having lost a love or two over the years, we can’t really remember this sappy little saying every making us feel much better at the time. Even in the decidedly less romantic environment of adult entertainment, it’s always really sad when you lose your first girl, a lesson Dear Maverick laments today. To his credit, however, Mav seems to have been able to steadfastly muddle forth, unlike D.Minion, who always lapses into vast chasms of despondency whenever one of the risqué ladies moves along to other paths. “They’re all the ‘first girl’ in some respect,” DM explains. “Yeah, but now we have another major headache we don’t have to worry about,” we generally counter, “Don’t let that pesky silver lining get in the way of your cloud or anything.” … D.Minion sometimes doesn’t think we’re funny, by the way. Perhaps it would be best just renew our acquaintance with Isabella. That seems safer. [FEATURED TAGS: 247AdultStars.com, Isabella Kay]

Although certainly valuable in theory, too much absorption in retrospect can lead fairly quickly to a rather maudlin view of current conditions if we forget to take some care with our memories. On the other hand, that particular philosophy doesn’t seem to apply if you’ve spent that last 20 years hanging out with porn stars. Also, illustrating our point works extremely well when we have the assistance of jessica drake. Basically, we think everything pretty much works better when one has the assistance of jessica drake, just so you know. [FEATURED TAGS: Jessica Drake]

Emails from our friends can give a fairly accurate insight into the strange sort of life we lead. Yesterday we learned, for example, that, “According to the Jewish calendar, the year is 5769. According to the Chinese calendar, the year is 4706. This means that the Jews went without Chinese food for 1,063 years. This period was known as the Dark Ages.” And today we get to try and empathize with Wendy about the brutal schedule for a professional model on a tropical island. Somehow the lack of Chinese food seems worse. [FEATURED TAGS: Wendy Divine, Dee, Becca, Juli Ashton, Cheyenne Silver, Kristal Summers, Inari Vachs]

You’ll need to provide your own vintage Dr. Pepper theme music here: I love porno. He loves porno. She loves porno. Wouldn’t you like to love some porno too? … Now if this seems like a strange way to introduce a post, even for us, then at least you’ve noticed enough to put yourself in a proper frame of mind as we attempt to follow D.Minion visiting both Adult and Horror conventions on the same day. Los Angeles provides nothing if not a bizarre sense of juxtaposition. We love that about living here. [FEATURED TAGS: Adultcon 2008, Lori Lust, Syren, Cherokee, Alexis Love, Tory Lane]

Everyone should be celebrating the first full lineup of NFL games, but on the off chance that your team happens to show all the indications of really sucking this year, you might need a slight heart-calming diversion, which we felt obligated to provide. It may give you something else to think about too, which could well continue our philanthropic efforts towards gridiron diversion — never a bad thing. Does anyone else from Denver out there remember guys named Don Horn and Steve Ramsey? [FEATURED TAGS: Red Velvet, Kelli Garner, Henry Thomas]

Kelli Garner and Henry Thomas probably don't follow the Broncos anyway.

Fortunately in life we tend to have many more memories bringing thoughts of celebration than we have that precipitate mourning. Many times, however, the latter can heighten appreciation for the former. We will not forget … [FEATURED TAGS: Wendy Divine]

Humping around Jamaica with Wendy continues this month, and we know you’ve all been just desperate with anticipation. As Divine as Wendy happens to be, though, (along naturally with Dee, Kristal Summers, Juli Ashton, Inari Vachs, Becca, and Cheyenne Silver) we’d be slothful were we not to encourage a close examination of Dolphin Daring and the serene satisfaction of the unsaturated photographic soliloquy Wendy provides today as well. And it would be wrong to include dolphins and sloths in the same event, right? [FEATURED TAGS: Wendy Divine, Juli Ashton, Dee, Kristal Summers, Inari Vachs, Becca, Cheyenne Silver]

Let’s say you had a choice between an all-expense paid vacation in Europe and you could visit Maverick in London … or you could go to Paris with Devinn Lane, Inari Vachs, and Dee. Can you think of a word that means a small enough amount of time required to make your decision? Well, such a word probably exists, but with said Risqué Women finally getting to what they laughingly call “work” who really cares about a great vocabulary anyway? Many women in tiny elevators. We love Paris!

It’s Wendy on Wednesdays for the month of … September. (Hey we like alliteration, but they didn’t make a month that starts with a “W” you know. Whatever were they thinking, right?) People are going back to school, so now we get to crank out all of our really good reasons to appreciate that, as adults finally get some quiet time. Wednesdays also work well for another reason, what with it being traditional “Hump Day” and all. If you’re going to be thinking about humping anyway, Wendy sure fits right in with that. Divine, isn’t it? [FEATURED TAGS: Wendy Divine, Kristal Summers, Dee, Inari Vachs]
