9/30/12	Oh, dear. 9/27/12	We can explain the American fascination with the NFL in a fairly simple way: For just a little bit of time in one’s complicated and frustrating life, it becomes perfectly acceptable to scream and yell like this world will end if the referee fails to call pass interference on some play in a game. It can be very cathartic, really, at least until the national press gets involved. A presumably relatively educated chap on Good Morning America today did refer to the circumstances surrounding a blown call last Monday as a night “that will live in infamy” during his report that we will now have the regular refs to scream at once again. … Um … That might be a bit extreme. Still, we manage to tie together Cytherea’s birthday and the Oakland Raiders this time out, which we consider a much more reasonable use of the football pastime. 9/25/12	All things considered it seems like our mothers should celebrate the anniversary of our births a lot more than the mere offspring should do. Right? She’s the one that did all the work, after all. If anything the individual kids should probably hide from that day as much as possible, because after that whole “come out of the womb” thing life sure got a lot tougher. Now in Maverick’s case although he claims to be particularly not celebrating this birthday, at least he has chosen to avoid thinking about it by employing a particularly American tactic: He is tormenting his friends with the beautiful women in his life. … OK. We all exist as an amalgamation of our life experiences, and as such we make observations necessarily influenced by that history. 9/16/12	The football fans take weekends off this time of year, as apparently colleges play all through Saturday, and some frighteningly powerful group called the NFL takes over life on Sundays. Even those of us not dedicated to the “pigskin” (or even its name, truth be told) do not find it odd that the NFL has begun to take over Thursdays too this year, to go along with the Monday nights it has always held sway over. No. We do find quite unusual, however, how many “football fans” we have in the office that never follow a team at all until it means they get weekends off. Very curious. 9/13/12	You know how you can just be going through your normal life, and all of the sudden you will find yourself thinking about someone you haven’t seen in quite awhile? 9/12/12	A mom and pop retail establishment we visited in Los Angeles this week had one of those hand-crafted signs taped to the wall above the cash register. 9/9/12	Most of the time we spend 90% of our time working on new material for the Members’ Side, and about 10% of our time organizing files and being sure the databases stay up to date so we can keep posting well into the future (when we would have probably forgotten all about the story behind the photos or videos if we did not complete this step). Obviously it does not take much of a math whiz to figure out that this equation leaves very little room for working on the “Free Side” of risqué. Every once in awhile, though, we will give the topic at least cursory consideration, most often with interesting — if not wholeheartedly amusing — results. 9/5/12	Conventions have a certain amount of similarity and overlap no matter where they happen to be held. … OK, so we attended a plumbing supplies convention once for some odd reason, and it was a bit different, and when we went to the Venus Show in Berlin they were playing hard core movies up on a giant screen when you went in, but those serve as exceptions that prove the rule. Between us we have been to hundreds of conventions, and those two stand out as unique in our minds. Now when Uncle Gibby goes to a convention with his video camera, though, you just never know what you may discover. Come to think of it, maybe there were a lot more unique moments at conventions, but we simply forgot. The mind is the first to go, you know. 10/16/11	All things considered, we have a pretty good life around here. 10/2/11	Sigh. The plan was to put this up on Sunday night … and then … depression set in. On the stripes of the gridiron the only thing that makes the Colorado professional football team better than Colorado’s biggest college football team is that the college team has played one more game, thus recording one more loss. Many might assume that being from a state even colder than Colorado, say, Wisconsin, would be a fine reason for depression of an entirely more aggregate view. But you if you happen to be a football fan, Wisconsin’s not a bad place to be. … Still, we’re trying to cope the way we do. Too bad Uncle Gibby’s not allowed to look at the video here. 6/25/11	If you spend some of your free time reading, you’ll occasionally run across some wonderful quotes. For example, John D. MacDonald wrote, “Life is the process of finding out, too late, everything that should have been obvious to you at the time.” Now the fine author penned this pithy observation in The Only Girl in the Game, but to be fair, we actually discovered it as the introduction in Paul Levine’s Slashback. After such a literary introduction of our own, you might think that we’d be on an intellectual quest today, perhaps explicating a poem by John Donne and dealing with a rather different form of conceit than the adult industry usually provides, this of the metaphysical sort. … Naw. We’re just letting D.Minion rant about how she hates to miss things and remembering fondly the first time we got to see Cytherea’s new boobs. … We all enjoy life’s callings a little differently. 6/23/11	To be quite honest, one of our favorite aspects of working on this site for over a decade has to be that we simply don’t need to make stories up. While we do rather enjoy reading fiction, the dedication and attention to detail that it requires to actually write it really doesn’t interest us much. Around here it works much more like a typical “editorial” job in an old fashioned journalistic setting. Of course we would maintain that our particular subject matter tends to keep one’s general interest more than, for example, local politics, or even the local football team. Come to think of it, probably all the NFL players are looking at risque.com every single day while they wait for the lockout to end. That makes sense, right? 6/20/11	Most of us have probably heard the saying “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry” – or some sort of variation on that translation. Many of us, however, might be surprised to learn that the quote does not come from the book Of Mice and Men, but rather comes from a really old poem by Robert Burns, which inspired the name of the aforementioned book. Sadly neither Mr. Burns, or the excellent author John Steinbeck ever got a chance to photograph Cytherea taking a bath, and we feel sorry for them. As for the members, you can look up the poem if you want, but looking at Cytherea would probably be a lot more fun. Because we’re kind and like to give hints, the relevant lines in the poem read literally, “The best-laid schemes o’ mice an ‘men / Gang aft a-gley” (ouch) while Cytherea in a tub reads like the photo here. 6/17/11	At its essence life comes down to a matter of perspective. You can approach it with emotions ranging from calm benevolence to malevolent ire, but in the end we’re all going to end up in the same place. No matter how rich you happen to be, no matter how many friends you have on facebook, the final chapter will read the same for each of us. What matters, therefore, becomes how we interact with the world before that final date on the tombstone. Take D.Minion. … We keep asking and yet no one seems willing to. 6/15/11	Do you know how you can tell if you’re bowling with Cytherea? At some point in the evening the PA announcer will utter the words, “Wet cleanup on Alley 11” in one variation or another. (True story.) … Not everything that porn people do in life has to do with being nude and sweaty, shocking as that may seem, and this time around we’re celebrating that fact to rather lengthy extent. Heather Vandeven and Michelle Maylene drop by to help D.Minion’s story (thus the “lengthy” part of the description), and then you can pop over to Cy’s site in case you missed her update earlier this week. 6/11/11	Let’s see, shall we? We should be talking about shooting explicit photos of Cytherea on a couch, and eventually we do get there, but we take what we’ll term an unusual path in the process. 6/8/11	Doing some of the most normal things in life can take on an … let’s go with unusual … twist when you do them with porn stars. Of course given the choice between the normal and the not, everyone in this business would choose the latter. Look at it this way: We wouldn’t have chosen this profession if we felt at all typical in our overall approach to life. Allegedly time will tell if we’ve chosen the right path, but until then, everyone should lobby for the chance to make ice cream with Shayla LaVeaux. Of course if you found a hall that contained Sabrina Rose, Celeste Star, and our good friend Charlie Laine, you could probably think of a lot of ways to make that famous too. 6/2/11	Should you be reading this historically, you won’t notice any difference, but those looking at it currently certainly will. As almost all of you know by now, for the last week or so we (along with millions of others in cyberland) have been under attack by an admittedly quite smart, but altogether nefarious character nonetheless. For the first time in our history we actually got “cracked” and have been frantically dealing with the aftermath for some time now. Finding the leak, as it were, is nothing compared to repairing all the damage done, if you want to know the truth. We’ve got it all locked down again now, better than ever ironically enough, and we’ve got a bunch of stuff backed up in the queue which we’ll rebuild quickly. We’ll catch up. We always do. And we do so elegantly, as you can tell from the picture of Shayla here.
