6/30/03	We’re taking a moment to publicly apologize to SteveD today. We’re sorry we ever had the unkind attitude that called your picture taking skills into question. We’re very sorry, in fact, and we’ll never do it again. Today we have the “Mini-Minion” report on Erotica LA, and Mav managed to include 135 photographs to illustrate it. Some were in focus. Some even had people in them. However, ALL of them were horizontal. We’ve never seen anything like it. It’s amazing. So, SteveD, we’re sorry. We’ll never cast aspersions on your photograhic integrity again … probably … we think … possibly. (Hey, it could happen.) Since turn about is supposed to be fair play, and, honestly, since he’s not here to defend himself, we’re interrupting Mav’s account of Erotica LA, for (you guessed it) a Ninn Worx Weekend. 6/24/03	You know, as a photographer, SteveD is a great writer, and a hell of a nice guy. On the plus side, however, his model happened to be Kristal Summers on this day, who happens to know a bit about being naked in front of a camera. In one of our more convoluted posts we give you a sobering moment from the next in Dear Readers Speak with Brother John — and a drooling moment with Kristal posing naked for a visiting member (probably NOT the kind you’re thinking of). We haven’t learned much from this besides if you have to be sober and drooling, it’s good to have Kristal to blame for it. 6/20/03	We interrupt the regularly scheduled Ninn Worx Weekend to tell you that the truly unthinkable has in fact occurred. It was raining in Los Angeles in late June. Guess who’s still in town … Point in fact, and in penance probably, our buddy Maverick’s gone and given us all another gift, though. The inspiration went as follows: We returned home from a convivial mid-day meal with the incomparable Michael Ninn. Fascinating conversation flowed as Michael and Maverick dazzled each other with the depths of their personal philosophies. They talked of Kafka and Camus, of Aristotle and Aerosmith. (It was truly strange.) Then we pulled into the driveway and noticed we had a guest at our home. When we told Mav that this was Kristal Summers’ new car, he caught his breath, blushed, and promptly walked into the vehicle we had just parked. Ah, love … Then he made this for y’all. 6/17/03	Maverick’s been a busy little beaver, well, hampster, during his visit here, and he’s now created some really groovy new screen savers for everyone. We have noticed a trend. The new plan around the office is to just threaten manual labor as a diversion, and the bright young chap will come up with all sorts of things to keep him busy and make the site better. The leaders of the Revolutionary War should have known about this trick. 6/9/03	Because we’re quite certain that all of our Members are fans of Victorian Literature, we’ve begun a new section for the site called “Dear Readers Speak.” (Actually, we had to call it something, and that seemed quick.) It’s basically just going to be a place where we can post interesting stories about, well, whatever. 12/31/02	We’re ending the year with typical form for us. 12/6/02	Back when we started Adult Diary it seems we didn’t really have a precise focus on how we were going to proceed. As we continue our cleaning and holiday season retrospect it has occured to us that our approach might have been more of the tried and true “shotgun” attack. You know, fire a whole bunch of little bullets and see if you hit anything that people like. We’re better now (Really. Swear.), but once again we find ourselves in the position of offering up another dose of the early days. 12/4/02	We waited a week to post the latest Night Calls episode because Juli’s taking a rare night off tonight, and we didn’t want all of the members to miss their weekly dose of Juli. That said, we have to admit that the new “high-tech, state-of-the-art” studio lights are wreaking havoc with D.Minion’s automatic camera settings. She’s trying to manually compensate, but there’s a lot to adjust while trying to keep up with the pace of the show. We were going to tell you just to skip the pictures this time, but then we got to the final two. They deserved their own page, so you can skip the first 38 if you desire. 11/29/02	Now that the Christmas season can officially begin, despite what Southern California retailers have been thinking since before Halloween, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the time of year for its emphasis on retrospect. Words like “tradition,” and “history,” and other such creche phrases (sorry, Lon) bring about a peacefulness, and a comfort with one’s place in the cosmos. Were that not so we would never have the nerve to draw attention to what a half-decade in Risqué evolution has meant. Each of us represents the sum total of our experiences, and the people with whom we’ve come in contact. Were it not for everything that happened in our past, none of us would be in precisely this position today. So we’re showing off a good bit of our past, and hoping sincerely you forgive us our graphic transgressions of the day. (Honestly, some of the graphics are down-right ugly.) If you do nothing else, take a look at what Nikita can draw with a trackball; these were some extraordinary women in wonderful times. 11/26/02	We’ve just decided to stop trying to make any sense of what we do. After putting together what in retrospect turns out to have been one of our largest single posts ever, we noticed that as a technical matter, this subject rests at best tangentially related to us. Still, when people catch our eye (our experienced and critical eye, actually), it seems worth note. Consequently, we created “A Stormy Brewing on the Horizon” and put it up for you. Hey, Stormy’s funny, and y’all know that’s our favorite characteristic around here. Sexy, willing to get naked, and funny: You’re a shoo-in for accolades. And it’s honestly nice to see success for a woman in the industry who’s not a “twig with tits” as some more crude than any of us here would be. We’re never crude. Really. Swear. So here’s the gig: There are 160 pictures, two video files, and more $5 words than you run across in a typical New Yorker Magazine article. 11/21/02	Contrary to popular belief, the most powerful person on the planet is not the President of the United States. The President has “checks and balances” and a whole bunch of folks that look over each and every decision, mostly trying to see what personal benefit they can get, but looking nonetheless. The most powerful person in the world is the cable guy. With almost no verifiable supervision, this person (and we admit “guy” may be “girl” ) determines whether or not your Internet business can actually connect to the Internet. They have evolved the “blank stare” into an art form; they can utter the simple phrase, “Hmmm” with devastating accuracy and result. They control our lives, and we can’t vote them out of office; you can’t really even talk to them without developing a nervous tick in your left eye. Dang. We say all this because FINALLY we can get back to work — four modems, two routers, no less than seven “service calls,” and 42 hours later — but who’s really counting? So now you can read about Julia Ann and Dee in Hercules.
