Foremost among them might be Vince Lombardi pacing along a frozen sideline yelling, “What the hell’s going on out there?” … Having viewed (like most of us probably) the shocking chaos at the U.S. Capitol this past Wednesday, we have decided that from this point forward every meeting of any member of Congress, no matter what the location, no matter how significant the meeting, should set aside a few seconds at the beginning for the Parliamentarian to play the clip of Vince Lombardi yelling, “What the hell’s going on out there?” … Seems like we have lost that message somewhere along the line, and Dear Vince can help us. 9/7/15	On a day when 90% of the country enjoys a holiday, those at either end of the professional spectrum tend to be at work. Executives sneak into the office for a few hours, prepared to at least enjoy the peace and quiet, while those with the least seniority do whatever they usually do for a living and pine for a time when they too get to demand family time when most regular people get it. This latter group should be careful what they wish for, at the very least setting their sights somewhere below the Executive Level, but then people rarely exhibit such foresight, so they will eventually find out for themselves. For our “executive part” we found it necessary to correct some underling failures of late, but we don’t mind too much. First of all, it meant dealing with Dee again, and that always makes for a pleasant day, and, most importantly, when we come into work tomorrow, we will still be the boss at the meeting. 10/31/08	We have a lot of wonderful posts around here. (Right?) But we don’t always have wonderfully timed posts around here. Part of the nature of a true “reality in the porn business” site happens to be that schedules can change rapidly – and frequently. We don’t do the typical “print every press release you can find about the business and then try to sell advertising space on your site” sort of approach that almost all of the adult sites do these days. We just try to provide a meek little “Adult Diary” (remember that name you old timers?) of what happens in our little neck of the woods (or whatever body part seems pertinent that particular day). So imagine our surprise when we woke up and somebody on The Today Show mentioned that it’s Halloween. Gee. You’d think we’d notice something like that, at least you would if you didn’t understand the chaos that occasionally defines our existence. Still, we changed the plan once again because there’s really nothing more apropos for this particular day than “Dee & Demon Dog” …. You can see that, right? … Maybe we’ll use today’s plan for tomorrow, or maybe by tomorrow the plan will change again and we’ll have to postpone it to some future time, at which point we’ll undoubtedly say, “Didn’t we put that up yesterday?” Sadly, we’re occasionally like that too. Those grammar aficionados out there will quickly recognize that this first sentence has no adjectives. Make of that what you will. … Oh, and if you’re wondering where we got the unusual thumbnail for this post, you’ll have to check out the entry. Just like Sacred Sin there is a “secret code” somewhere in the story that tells you the answer to this burning question. Unlike Sacred Sin, however, you will not win a free autographed Eddie Van Halen guitar if you are the first to guess the answer. Sorry. On the upside, also unlike Sacred Sin, this “code” is just written in plain English, so it’s really not that hard to figure out. You take the bad with the good in life. 10/18/06	Sometimes you just need to take a break. For example if you’re innocently looking at coming in to work and putting together a festive look at being on the set of Fem: L’Amour and then somebody runs up before you even sit down and says they’re “not done with the 339 pictures yet, and don’t bug me about it.” And then you hear loud cursing sounds from an office close by that says “10,000 f*king words?” And then the normally unflappable computer dude happens by without* the heretofore ubiquitous cup of coffee, and says (for the very first time you’ve ever heard, ever) “I’m not sure if I can do anything with these mpeg files for Friday. … Clearly drastic and frantic solutions were in order, and the Big-Boss-Hog-Honcho’s off in meeting today. … Immediately a stunningly simple solution came to mind, involving a simply stunning Anais. … Don’t you love it when a different plan comes together? 10/23/05	You know what’s worse than your team losing in the last 10 seconds? Being in such a hurry to get the post up in order to watch the game that you forget the “New Stuff” link, and THEN having your team lose in the last 10 seconds … by one point … because of a missed field goal … by one of the most accurate field goal kickers in NFL history. OK, so put a technical date of 10/25/05 on this post, because after the proper amount of grieving time, we happened to notice this little clerical error. 10/20/05	Our conversations about the relative nature of “Innocence” have been going on at the office for about a week. Now you may not be overly interested in philosophy, mechanical inclination, or even backgammon, but fortunately we do have Roxy Jezel, Nautica Thorn, and Hillary Scott to distract you. 10/15/05	So the hectic pace around here lately has led to way too many episodes of fast food and pizza delivery. We started realizing that we were probably lacking in some important vitamins, and unless somebody recently changed the four basic food groups to be Triscuits, Beef Jerky, Skittles, and Beer, we might be missing some other things on the nutritional scale too. Then we realized that we’d been lacking Dee stories as well. Obviously we decided that concepts of “Good Health” remain clearly relative, and then we sent D.Minion out for more beer. 10/12/05	Don’t you love words to live by? “If you can’t be a good example, at least you can serve as a horrible warning.” That’s what I learned in a book I was reading recently. At then outside the Adult Video News offices I noticed a bumper sticker that highlighted a Voltaire quote, saying, “Those that can convince you of absurdities can get you to commit atrocities.” All in all it’s been a pretty deep week, it seems to me. 10/1/05	Here’s something that seems like good advice: “Let us not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments.” Of course, it assumes you understand both the literal definition of impediments as well as the psychological concept of true minds. This could be a problem. Gosh. Instead of really icky educational stuff we’re thinking that Angel Cassidy Exposing herself might be a fine diversion. We’ve read some captivating things in our time, and we’re pretty sure that none of this even gets to be in the (admittedly subjective) category of beautiful women naked.
