Contract Stars for a Risque Business

Contract Stars

There are so many things wrong with that statement that I should write a book. Don’t worry, though, we’re not striving for a literal “novel” concept here today. I think maybe I’ll just tell you a couple of stories to provide, call it fodder, for your own ruminations. Of course those may not be interesting to some of you, so you’ll find the link to those insights (for what they’re worth) at the bottom of this page. If you’d rather just get to the illustrations, we’ll sort of work to an intermission here.

Now these five dandy photographs are pictures of Lorraine Sisco, back when she was a model, and before she became the in-house producer for Ninn Worx. One theory floating around our office has been that unless you can live up to the Producer standards at Ninn Worx, you’re not going to make it very long as a contract star, and therefore sheer intimidation has instigated the mass exodus of late. If you want to know the truth, the old producer, Ethan Kane — while a fine young man, charming, and very talented — doesn’t really live up to TG in the decoration department. (Of course as a business woman Lorraine hates it when we point things like this out, to which I always respond, “Hey, it’s not my fault you’re sexy.") I still don’t know about the “She’s too pretty” philosophy, though, as when she’s working keeping the schedule running on time and on budget, and making sure all the legal paperwork is getting done on the set, she’s … well, decidedly un-model-like. Still it’s a thought, so I’m just throwing it out there.

Then for the video entertainment for this weekend, it seemed also appropriate to pull up a little video diddy we’ve had around of Renee Perez, who happens to be one of the two remaining NW_SR Contract Stars. Of course the way things are going no one’s really sure what “contract star” means around that office anymore. Still, since Mr. SR thinks that all naked women are created equal, I’m sure it doesn’t matter to them. I will add, though, that spoken from the male perspective, which personally I represent, I must respectfully disagree. I have been around thousands of porn shoots, and I have seen hundreds of porn men as they’re working. We are definitely NOT all created equal. On the upside I’m a very nice person, and I can cook.

Even More Risque:  "Piloting" X360 — part one

*Read the Complete Story on AVN.

**Before they sold out to Rob Black, AdultFYI had a wonderfully entertaining — albeit substantially less politically correct — take on the situation. AVN would never, ever be comfortable publishing commentary such as that, but we happily linked to it. Now we cannot. So we are sad. But we thank Gene for making us happy back in the day.

Oh, and for those of you that enjoy a more “illustrated example” approach to the lessons that aspiring porn stars need to know, we have included a bonus page that will give you the Contract Star risks in a visual way. Maybe it is better just to tell the story with pictures. Michael certainly thinks so.
