We chatted in the press room. (Oooh! I felt like a reporter! All I needed was a fedora with a press pass in it!) And the first things I noticed were Brooklyn’s nails. They were sparkly silver and filed into points. That’s because she was signing for Evil Angel, and plugging her new vampire movie Voracious. [Well, she should probably be careful about getting too voracious in those close clinches with those sharp adornments, not that any of us would discourage her if she brought up the idea, naturally.]
Brooklyn told me that before she was a porn star, she was a stripper in New York. While she was doing well and making money, the lifestyle began to wear on her a bit, so she decided to make Adult films. She’s been in the biz about a year and a half, and she hasn’t looked back. [Gee. A stripper who decides to become a porn star because the dancer lifestyle can suck. What a concept. … You’d be surprised to know how few of the new stars even know the old “grass is always greener” adage. Of course as D.Minion points out, the grass is greenest over the septic tank. So there’s that.]
I know porn stars who have chosen their names from phone books, and porn stars who have had their agents name them. But Brooklyn put a lot of thought into her porn name. Since she was from NY, she wanted her nom de porn to have something to do with her state, so she researched various domains and found no one was using BrooklynLee.com. She snatched it up and then “became” her domain name! Very clever! [Yeah, and Queens sounds like the name of a gay star.]
Ms. Lee taught herself to use computers, and has been extremely computer literate since she was 11 years old. “I was pale and sat indoors,” she laughed. Her intention is to build her own web site all by herself – as soon as she has a little time off! [In that world she’ll likely find the road to Oh Well paved with those good intentions, but since she clearly pays no attention to life’s little aphorisms, we will let her learn that lesson for herself.]
