While walking around I bumped into fellow producer Paul Taylor. We chatted for awhile and then new star Sophie O Brien [sic, again. This woman really needs to learn about apostrophes.] walked by and started to chat with Paul. I exchanged business cards with Sophie as she had come highly recommended by Paul. [It’s amazing how producers always highly recommend the stars standing in front of them.] I also enjoyed chatting with her, as she was enjoying the party and had lots of business cards from several producers already. [You gotta love those “Sure. I’d love to see you naked.” business cards.] Another bonus is that she’s based in London! She also had brought along her very big brother so that no-one did anything untoward to his little sis. [She’s a porn star, right? … Apparently brothers over there have a rather different view of “untoward to his little sis” than do the majority of their counterparts over here. Also fascinating.]
It was getting to the mid-point of the night, so the winners were announced and awarded to the following people. You can hear the presentations below, but you can’t see them, as the lighting wasn’t that great (and you all know about me and lighting). We thus have chosen to present the awards as audio files. Sometimes we just have genius ideas like this. [OK. Let’s go with genius.]

We were sad for Syren as she didn’t we the best female award. That prize went to Daisy Rock whom a few minutes later I found naked and displaying her award. [Now here the American winners could learn a few things about proper celebration it seems to me.] As you might have figured, suddenly lots of cameras appeared, and people were taking pictures of Daisy and her award. [Naw. Clearly they all wanted pictures of the devastatingly interesting award itself and they all resigned themselves to living with Daisy in the photo as well. Sometimes as a photojournalist you have to make artistic sacrifices.]
While talking with Paul, I looked up and saw Syren and raised my camera. [All of us with names like “Paul” are used to being completely ignored in the middle of a sentence when someone with a name like “Syren” walks by, just so you know.] She must have noticed as Syren played up for the camera, so I couldn’t help but take the picture. You’ve got to like a model who cannot take herself too seriously so enjoys mugging for the camera and not worry about it. I did email Syren the picture a few days later and she thought it was funny. [Maverick has come a long way from walking into stationary objects every time he spies a large-breasted blonde. Now he knows that he can come up with reasons to email them. … These porn web sites can be handy sometimes. And for what it’s worth, I’m not so sure this qualifies as “mugging” per se. Maybe Syren just happens to be a very peaceful young lady.]
