9/23/20	Not to make fun of a genius or anything but trying to make parting less painful by calling it “sweet sorrow” is like trying to ease the impact of amputation by calling it weight loss. Seriously, when you really enjoy something, do you ever really want it to end? Have you ever in your life thought, “Well, by golly, that certainly constitutes enough Dee for the moment?” … Yeah, well neither have any of us and yet Dee bids yet another temporary adieu — even as we scour the hard drives for more ways to celebrate her anew. Come to think of it, Dee should move in so we can protect her from the evil virus. Maybe we’ll read her “The Flea” on the phone, and that will convince her. You think? 9/18/20	After careful consideration, the Offices of the Risqué Commune have reached a unanimous decision that we should all become Jewish. Now this has nothing whatsoever to do with religion, or God, or even a preference for unleavened bread. In fact, we do not even know if any of the people from today’s Macbeth episode are Jewish. Nope. It has nothing to do with any of that. … You see, we just found out that Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, which — as we also found out — means that Jewish people are celebrating a New Year already. Since 2020 has colossally sucked on so many levels we cannot begin to enumerate them, we simply decided to convert. So that’s all there is to it. Right? (Oh! 9/12/20	The title alone should give you a hint as to our direction today. We called this “Revel Without a Clue” which pretty much sums it up. Although ecstatic to be taking this trip, and filled with wonderful and awe-inspiring optimism in these troubled times, we haven’t the vaguest idea where we might be going. On the upside, we do find ourselves able to once again demonstrate one of the core tenets in the Risqué world: If you consistently set the bar low enough, you will almost never have to experience disappointment. Although you cannot roller skate in a buffalo herd any more successfully now than you could when the song came out in 1966, even though the Army was already being all it could be back then. … It does get confusing, we realize, so we shall provide a hint: When one has Holly Hollywood on tap, performing in a profession she truly loved, well, the reading part may not be all that important. 9/7/20	If you dig up a buried treasure, does it cease being treasure and become something mundane like really expensive cool stuff or some such? If you have really expensive cool stuff, actually, why would you bury it in the first place? How many of us carry around a spare shovel just in case we might need it during the day? And if you must bury your treasure, why does everyone always put a big ol’ “X” on the map so that everyone knows where the really expensive cool stuff can be found? If you put like a dachshund emoji or something, people might think you odd, but they probably would not be digging for all your valuables. … These are the sorts of thoughts that consume us here at Risqué, y’know while we ponder our own Buried Treasure of the decidedly “X” variety, and all. If you happen to be one of those people who looks at modern art and cannot for the life of you figure out how one bunch of squiggly lines, or red squares, yellow dots, and blue triangles displays greater talent and keen insight into the human condition than any other, well, you should apply for a job here.
