Seriously, when you really enjoy something, do you ever really want it to end? | 9/18/20 |  After careful consideration, the Offices of the Risqué Commune have reached a unanimous decision that we should all become Jewish. Now this has nothing whatsoever to do with religion, or God, or even a preference for unleavened bread. In fact, we do not even know if any of the people from today’s Macbeth episode are Jewish. Nope. It has nothing to do with any of that. … You see, we just found out that Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, which — as we also found out — means that Jewish people are celebrating a New Year already. Since 2020 has colossally sucked on so many levels we cannot begin to enumerate them, we simply decided to convert. So that’s all there is to it. Right? (Oh! One of the benefits of bringing in previously freelance people into your workflow has to be all the things they can do without any real supervision. To be perfectly honest, we do not have a single person on this side of the pond who can tell you exactly what a “tuppence” might be with any degree of specificity. We could have called Maverick over in London, of course, but not only do we try to save those calls for important things like trying to explain the nuances of the “football” — in most of the world’s vernacular — leagues, but he often laughs at us when we ask Brit Questions. One good thing about having maintained a web site for a couple of decades, you end up with an excellent record of what life was bringing across a very long period of time. You can say things, for example, like thirteen years ago today and be able to justify that statement with amazing accuracy.
