| 6/14/26 |  Growing up, Flag Day used to be a sort of unique local community holiday where everyone waved little cheap flags throughout the day and those of us in the fortunate communities got to eat homemade ice cream served at the local drug store. I will say personally — in a surprisingly unpopular opinion around here — that the Redneck in me loves the cage fight part of the party, though. Certainly not all holidays come with handy reminders in the name like the 4th of July.
