| 9/30/22 | Whether it was because of cheap film, retail bags designed to “identify” (shame) adult movie customers at video stores, or simply because the Brits call something “blue” when they find it offensive or in bad taste, some of us old-timers still remember all adult productions being called blue movies. Of course we should distinguish between all movies with naked adults frolicking explicitly — and technically licking explicitly — and this one particular show with the title of Blue Erotica. For the record, Justine Joli does an outstanding job at helping distinguish it. | 9/26/22 | For the most part, breakups tend to be sad at best and painful at worst. As we go through the process of kissing all those frogs in search of our soulmate royalty, the “moving along” part can be among the most uncomfortable aspects of romance. How we respond when the wounds are still fresh could offer a clue as to the type of people we are — which tends to be angry, petty, and bitter, truth be told. Missy Martinez does offer some advice via The Muse today, though. If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you pay for. … And who said romance is dead? | 9/23/22 | Now that we are officially into fall we can begin to enjoy the trees turning glorious colors of scarlet and yellow, the air getting cool and crisp as we venture out, and the sounds of raking leaves filling our peaceful neighborhoods. Except if you live in Southern California which has a measly two season, those being Wow the Weather is Great Here, and for a couple of months out of the year, I Do Not Remember It Being This Hot Before. Of course it takes a certain mentality to truly submerse oneself into the Los Angeles culture, sort of those people that really, really love feet. Not to say that LA overflows with foot fetishists or anything, but simple math would indicate there must be a lot of them. LA has a lot of everything — except, y’know, fall colors and crisp evening air. | 9/21/22 | As a general rule, doing things over again tends to run along a scale from unpleasant to truly sucks. Exceptions to the rules make our lives really fun, however. (If you think most women look like porn stars naked, you have not seen very many naked women — certainly not under bright lights.) Every so often in this massive remastering — because Adobe gave up on Flash Video, not that we’re bitter or anything — project, we run across something truly enjoyable. Today, for example, we have discovered the very first video ever put on 247AdultStars, way back in 2007. Who knew they even had video 15 years ago? More importantly, who knew we would still have source files that old from an AEE convention? Sometimes we worry about us. We really do. | 9/17/22 | As D.Minion ended her Born A Rebel coverage, she lamented the physical distance that circumstances have put between her and one of her favorite people in the world, Juli Ashton. Indeed all of us who were around then understand what a gift it was to spend the many years together that we had with Juli (and those of us who were not around are likely tired of hearing about how great she was/is). One does not find many happy souls in life, and thus one should always remember them fondly. … Then we remembered “Gift of Juli” in the queue, so now we can share with everyone. | 9/16/22 | Even the most scary and rebellious of us will eventually get older and decide that prudence may dictate a more mental approach to a situation. (Have you seen Mike Tyson lately?) … Consequently, even if, say, you happen to have been Born A Rebel, that too will come to an end (in this case, as it were). We see no reason to bemoan the passage of time, however, and we have some moments to look forward to for our younger friends out there. First, you will always remember where you were the first time you realized that the songs you heard at prom have now fallen into the “oldies” category. Second, you will be amazed at various points in your life as you look back at your earlier years and think, “Wow. I’m surprised I lived through that.” [STAR TAGS: Syvette Video, Juli Ashton] |

| 9/5/22 | If we celebrate Labor Day by not laboring, then why do we not apply the same consideration to a Work Day? Would we really rather the meat companies just throw away all the extra parts instead of milling them nicely and placing them into yummy hot dogs? Who was the first person to discover deep fried ice cream, and how drunk were they really at the time? … We answer none of these lofty questions as The Muse debuts today, but they do seem worth considering after the lesbian fun. And thus it begins, this immense epic that is
We all have our own traditions on Thanksgiving Day, and those of you that know us at all will not find it surprising in the least that we spent some time providing enough video footage today to cover an entire half of a football game. (Let’s be honest, the NFL does not pick these games based on good teams, but rather on whether or not they still have teams in Dallas and Detroit. Skipping just a half might not be enough, but you can watch this all twice, so that could help.) This year we decided to be
We decided to bookend our giving thanks early weekend with vintage Dee, in a very, very rare setting. Let’s just say that if you ever have a new water housing for your video camera, and you get a chance to pop off to a
The forced introspection required by Adobe bailing on flash may have put us in a more
When you have to preface a major work that already has a preface, well, it sounds like things might get confusing. When you have to have an actual debate about BAMOSM as a new helpful acronym to keep around, well, then you have your proof that sanity may indeed not be on the agenda for today. Of course we have
Among the 500 greatest rock songs of all time, according to Rolling Stone, you will find Rhiannon. Maybe. Honestly their list suffers from a complete absence of anything approaching “user friendly” should you try to navigate it. D.Minion’s adaptation of Rhiannon — more Celtic Goddess than pure Stevie Nicks in intent — scores amazingly high in
Winter must be coming, because we have started to see people wearing coats and even (gasp) long pants outside in Los Angeles. Of course we’ve seen some don mittens when the temperature drops into the 60s, so you should probably not set your barometer of sanity on the residents of Southern California — something you have never once considered doing regardless. Still when this time of year comes around, we do like to celebrate our own personal
Attempting to be compassionate, sensitive, and contemporary leaders, the State of Colorado passed a law banning Native American mascots at public schools, yada-yada …. This past week a North Dakota organization representing Native Americans sued the state claiming the new ban “unlawfully enacts state-sanctioned race discrimination” against Native American residents. … Looking ahead at what we’re supposed to do, can be not that pleasant really. However, as we come to grips with yet another missed AEE opportunity in January, looking back a decade
Perhaps she wants to Rock. Or maybe she even wants to Rock and Roll All Night Long. Maybe she simply feels like she has to Fight for Her Right to Party. Whatever the case,
Some jobs look a lot easier when you look at the completed project than they would likely be if you tried to do them yourself. For example, we are not sure how they get all those perfectly little round portions of Babybel cheese, but it has to take some experienced ranchers and a bunch of really talented cows, right? … Fortunately we have
Consistent with our ongoing discoveries of just how wildly different all the “Sister” Commune sites happen to be, we ran into a Cytherea preference over the last few years of putting up entire movies where she shows up in the cast, but may not be in every scene. Consequently our Highlight it in New Stuff when a Star Video Reappears strategy does not entirely fit the scenario. So now we have a new plan for these. … Although the scenes themselves will continue to basically magically reappear in the background on the individual sites, when the relevant Team finishes an entire show, we will make note of it here, so nobody misses anything. Applying this theory today, you can once again enjoy Cytherea is a Lesbian Squirt Machine in all its Lesbian Squirting glory. Around here we really thought they should have named that
Did you ever have a conversation with someone at work, and as they walked away you realized, “That person doesn’t have a frickin’ clue what I do around here?” … Yeah, well that happens to everyone, which explains why Dilbert tends to be hysterical to anyone who has ever worked in an office, while also explaining what you are about to see today, should you click on the enticing photo of
Now that the (really boring) background code work on the video player has at least reached the stage of, “Well, we have a couple more sites to do, but at least now we know how to do it” stage, we can finally return Welcome to the Valley back from hiatus today. Presumably this will be met with universal cheers and applause — however socially (or otherwise) distant that may be. After all, how could we have made it through the final quarantine push without knowing how
There are various ways to interpret the phrase “Coming Along Nicely” when you work in our business. In this case one could be referring to the efforts nearing completion which will allow Cytherea’s site to bring all those videos back online in the post-flash video world. Fortunately, none of this will affect the amount of times Cytherea flashes at all, in case you were worried. Also, despite office rumors to the contrary, we did not in fact have to come up with a waterproof video player to host Cy’s remastered videos — so we can just put those rumors to rest. As for the other potential way to interpret Coming Along Nicely… yeah, we got that covered too. [STAR TAGS: Cytherea Exclusive Video]
No matter how busy you may get in life, you need to always make time for lesbians. … (We should make t-shirts with that slogan, right?) … Well, in honor of that philosophy, we had to stop the leader’s “can you make new code work in all these old site configurations” task and ask him to take a look at the conclusion of our Tara Loves Shyla feature. As D.Minion will soon point out, while en medias res may be a perfectly fine method with which to begin a story, ending one via this technique may well leave plot people frustrated. The less plot-oriented folks will likely not be frustrated at all, however, because, y’know, lesbians. The joy and beauty of a completely custom web site becomes apparent when you realize that you do not find yourself constantly limited by rigid structure of what elements MUST go where, and what pieces you CAN and CANNOT use for any given story. The horror and frustration of a completely custom web site becomes apparent when you suddenly have to republish those thousands of unique pages and you realize, “Oh, dear. We did this differently every single time.” … On the upside, it gives us a chance to relive some truly
Back inside. Locked down again. Oh, joy. … How many of us have had the following thought over the past few months? “You know, upon careful reflection and given ample time for profound rumination, I have come to the conclusion that I am an extremely boring person.” … Granted we have been able to manage life without sneaking out to black market raves, or swingers’ clubs, or even (gasp!) dining inside restaurants, but honestly the house can only get so clean/remodeled, y’know? Good thing
Start with the premise that you will be visited by a ghost while in the midst of having sex with a willing and enthusiastic partner. Then consider that the ghost happens to be the particularly beautiful Amy Azurra who rather than simply scare the bejeezus out of you instead wants to join in for
Anybody out there remember Steppenwolf? Well, regardless of how easy (or not) your current ride tends to be, we can assure you that this gritty band from the 1960’s did not record a hit song called Born to be Conventional and Boring. On the upside, you may enjoy
Friday the 13th has always seemed like the perfect day to post for us, probably because we always feel such a Lucky influence around these halls — well, virtual halls as it stands. Then again, successful people make their own luck as we understand the process, but we’re pretty sure that just repeating lies over and over again, louder and louder, will never actually make them true, y’know, as luck would have it. So as we begin a month of
We feel very welcoming today, which turns out to be a very good thing, as Welcome to the Valley will end up being a months-long exercise in fun, fantasy, and some other word starting with “f” that encourages you to happily enjoy the fictionalized version of life in the adult movie business.
Well this has been particularly exciting, even for the chaos that normally surrounds a U.S. Presidential Election. Both sides always think the other misguided and lacking in the prioritization proper for whatever issues seem important at the time. However, this time about 50% of the people think the other 50% of the people are completely certifiably wackadoodle. (Sorry if we got overly technical there.) Then here we are four days later, and we still do not know if we are happy or sad, again, regardless of which side of the Trump fence you picnic. So we decided to highlight the discombobulation with a much smaller scale issue in Bluebird’s Macbeth, Act 2. While obviously holding vastly more importance on a global scale, the electoral process does suffer from a distinct lack of nudity. So we win! Yay! … Of course considering the candidates, that distinct lack of nudity could well be a good thing. [STAR TAGS: Misa T., Natalie DiAngelo]
