Other things happening today include celebrating Tina Turner’s birthday (82 and still probably leaving those good jobs in the city), remembering this as the anniversary of Captain Cook first hitting Maui (and therefore the serious screwing of the pooch began), and the building of many, many … many … variations on the turkey sandwich begins in earnest across America. 11/25/21	We all have our own traditions on Thanksgiving Day, and those of you that know us at all will not find it surprising in the least that we spent some time providing enough video footage today to cover an entire half of a football game. (Let’s be honest, the NFL does not pick these games based on good teams, but rather on whether or not they still have teams in Dallas and Detroit. Skipping just a half might not be enough, but you can watch this all twice, so that could help.) 11/21/21	We decided to bookend our giving thanks early weekend with vintage Dee, in a very, very rare setting. Let’s just say that if you ever have a new water housing for your video camera, and you get a chance to pop off to a nude beach in Jamaica, you should bring Dee with you to help try out the equipment. It will help. A lot. … We were talking about the camera equipment by the way, in case any of you dirty-minded people out there thought something different. 11/20/21	The forced introspection required by Adobe bailing on flash may have put us in a more gracious seasonal mood than usual. Or it could be simply that this year feels at least slightly better than that other “year which shall never be spoken“ (but rhymes with plenty-plenty, as in we had plenty of that crap to last a lifetime). Times like these almost make us want to forgive Adobe. … OK. So that’s a lie. We’re still pissed as hell about that whole flash thing. When you have to have an actual debate about BAMOSM as a new helpful acronym to keep around, well, then you have your proof that sanity may indeed not be on the agenda for today. Of course we have Kristal Summers to help alleviate some of the male-focused publicity surrounding another of those super parody hero, campy cartoony things coming out of Bluebird. 11/15/21	Among the 500 greatest rock songs of all time, according to Rolling Stone, you will find Rhiannon. Maybe. Honestly their list suffers from a complete absence of anything approaching “user friendly” should you try to navigate it. D.Minion’s adaptation of Rhiannon — more Celtic Goddess than pure Stevie Nicks in intent — scores amazingly high in User Friendly, however. Could be we took advantage of our favorite Butterfly to accomplish that goal. We may not know much about Celtic Mythology, but our Spanish ain’t mal. Also, we happen to like this butterfly a lot. 11/8/21	Winter must be coming, because we have started to see people wearing coats and even (gasp) long pants outside in Los Angeles. Of course we’ve seen some don mittens when the temperature drops into the 60s, so you should probably not set your barometer of sanity on the residents of Southern California — something you have never once considered doing regardless. Still when this time of year comes around, we do like to celebrate our own personal Summers, as in Kristal. Truth be told, we do that in every season, but that makes it no less fanciful today. 11/6/21	Attempting to be compassionate, sensitive, and contemporary leaders, the State of Colorado passed a law banning Native American mascots at public schools, yada-yada …. This past week a North Dakota organization representing Native Americans sued the state claiming the new ban “unlawfully enacts state-sanctioned race discrimination” against Native American residents. … Looking ahead at what we’re supposed to do, can be not that pleasant really. However, as we come to grips with yet another missed AEE opportunity in January, looking back a decade with Lon, and with Steve can be darned fun. You get to play Name that Strip Club Tune with Shayla and Kristal again too. We feel safe about this, because there were no Native American songs in the list. … Unless there should have been now, in which case we messed up. It’s all very confusing. Whatever the case, Taylor Rain helps us rather ironically become less mystified as she ushers in more Mystified on this first day of a (suddenly late in the year) month. Honestly, after finishing the presentation today, Taylor may not have all that many mysteries left — which does not in any way diminish her intrigue, strangely enough.
