You can even argue that the genre as a whole does a poor job even as educational value because it promulgates vastly unrealistic expectations in everything from “mating rituals” — so to speak — to body image. … Of course you can argue against all of those things too. … What you cannot argue, however, would be that the individuals in these movies do not share many of the same basic human characteristics as the rest of us. Well, the auction takes place this coming week, and while we remain hopeful that good things will transpire, we need to be realistic too.
