6/30/10	You know how comfortable old friends can be? When they happen to look like Shayla LaVeaux, and they happen to have Shayla’s decided openness about nudity in general, well, they make darn good house guests too. Of course Shayla happens to be much more than a pretty face, and she has some dandy ideas about excellent travel arrangements, as we learn today. She’s even gotten into the spirit of our liaison with our British bud Maverick, although we’d be willing to bet she’s going to win the flirting contest with pretty much anyone named “Lexi” that you’re likely to run across. 6/26/10	Oops! We’ve mentioned this before, but we really hold to the opinion that you should never let the boss at your place of employment actually do any important work. It’s just going to get messed up, either because they haven’t done this particular task for years, or (in a technology field like ours) they may well have never known how to do it in the first place. Consequently we’re putting up the picture set courtesy of Michael Ninn’s wonderful skills at still photography today, that actually should have gone with the story a couple of days ago. We suppose it’s nice that somebody noticed, and we do appreciate all those (occasionally annoying) “silver lining” people around here, but for their benefit, we felt obliged to close with this little bit of wisdom we’ve acquired over the years: When you wake up seemingly stuck in life’s same ol’ thing circle, you should never forget that not everyone who shows up is there to help you. 6/24/10	Here’s something we learned this week: Hockey introduced the first testicular guard, the Cup, in 1874. The first helmet showed up in use in 1974. Consequently, this means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. That kind of adds a little perspective to evolution, doesn’t it? Speaking of evolution, that concept as it pertains to the personal relationships of porn stars actually mirrors the lives of the rest of us mere mortals more than you might think. Theoretically we’re continuing our analysis of the issue, this time benefited by “The Janas – Jordan and Cova” – not so much because they’re vital to the illustration as because they’re just really darned beautiful. 6/20/10	Most of us really hate doing something over again. Of course most of the time we don’t have Wendy Divine offering up some very good reasons to do so. We won’t belabor a rather mundane web coding point here, but if you want to read about how this all came about you can certainly do so. Of course if you just want to see the 225 rather impressive pictures of Wendy enjoying herself with Nick Manning, well that’s fine too. 6/13/10	Apparently at least the East Coast newspapers haven’t learned a whole lot in the last 230+ years. 6/30/09	Maverick has won the intra-office race to post the debut report on Erotica LA this year, or at least the opening volley. Our posting queue still seems to be surviving in a bit of a content food processor, though, so as a favor to some of the people working diligently on this side of “the pond” we have created a special page with a not-so-subtle hint as to what’s in store for mid-summer meditation around here. As for Mav, there seems to be a rather prominent theme surrounding British Baked Beans amidst the bevy of porn performers, probably proving once and for all that we’re potentially a bad influence. 6/27/09	Part of the interest in the adult entertainment world comes from the way that even though it can get a bit plodding, just like any job, every once in awhile things just come up in this world, and you have to make adjustments to your original plan. Even forgetting that whole “Man plans. God laughs.” philosophy for the moment, sometimes you really do get a chance to do something just a little different, and so you put whatever plan you used to have on hold for a minute. When such diversions involve Tori Welles, Ginger Lynn, and Christy Canyon, well, that brings up a whole other range of unique aspects to the XXX life. For centuries the prevailing intellectual theory seems to have been that history repeats itself, what with there being “no new things under the sun … yada, yada, yada” — although we will admit that intellectual theory sometimes resembles a lot more the latter than the former. 6/23/09	How long has it been since we’ve had a leader that seems to have some actual grasp of real world knowledge? Now we’d be among the (potentially few) that would say that any successful politician must possess a level of intelligence, but we feel obligated to point out that a substantial chasm separates “smart” from “quick” on the mental scale. 6/28/08	You know, when we called Maverick yesterday to joyously tell him about the new Kristal Summers post from his trip here, he said, “Hey! Remember that I was going to announce the new Kristal videos on 247 and I made you screen grabs for Carol so you could put that part on risqué and talk about it too?” … And then we said something like, “Oh, yeah. That’s right. … Um. … BYE.” (Sometimes the Brits just don’t seem to understand the whole joyous appreciation of life thing. 6/22/08	“Titillating” seems to be a reasonable goal around here, and sometimes we even manage to accomplish that without resorting to the obvious pun references the word implies. Theoretically we set out today to allow you members to see a much more visual distinction between the “Las” Vegas Adult Convention and the “Los” Angeles Adult Convention. D.Minion provides some highlights of the former while we wait for Lon on the latter. Now the LA part this year involved trips to (count ’em) three new restaurants, though, including one rather lavish buffet, albeit perhaps not up to Las Vegas standards. We will see. Those of you that have been around awhile will know how much Lon appreciates a good meal, and will consequently understand the labor-intensiveness of his current assignment. 6/15/08	Sadly, as a result of the recent major earthquake, one of the giant pandas at the Wolong Research Center in China lost its life. As do people throughout the world the children of the land love the pandas, prompting one distraught youngster to question which fine animal passed away. “Who died, papa? Which one was it? Papa, papa, who?” … At least this was how one of the major networks here reported the news. Probably because of time constraints the network cut away before airing the father’s reply, but we’re pretty sure it went something along the lines of “Papa, papa who? Mao Mao.” (… And if you know how to pronounce the most famous leader of the People’s Republic of China to date, and know a little American popular music history, well, it won’t make that the most impressive joke you’ve ever heard, but it will help a lot with understanding it.) … Fortunately today we’re taking a video look at our old friend Cheyenne Silver, and we’re not even mentioning a thing about natural disasters anymore. Still, it’s good to remain at least somewhat aware of world events, and it is Father’s Day, so we had to at least mention dads out there. (Besides, they might know The Beach Boys in China.) 6/10/08	Well, we have to start somewhere, so we might as well start with the artistic angle, right? Or maybe we should start with the bizarre. That’s always fun. … Or we could show off some fancy Photoshop collages too; that would be nice, as would a custom video segment showing off the general weirdness of our existence. Those are always popular. … So that’s how we started bright and early this morning, and then we figured out that we’re in LA, and we just got back from Erotica LA …. And that pretty much ties together all these things. OK. So it’s not earth-shattering logic, but we’re really a lot better after a few cups of coffee. 6/5/08	Ah, but we love the BTS footage. We find it a wonderful way to really see not so much what movie sets are like (because even if you’ve never been on one you’ve probably seen enough clips on television to pretty much know what they’re like) but because this type of footage gives the most accurate capture of the moods of the actors and actresses at a precise moment in time. (And you’ve probably seen enough clips on television to know that those little moods are nothing if not volatile too.) As is his now tradition, Maverick has also put together some screen grabs for Carol, since she still can’t see video on the web, as most of you probably know even if you’re not a member. By our estimation, Mav’s either a very nice man, has a not-so-secret crush on Carol … or he just thinks it would be very handy to marry an American. … For today, color us cynical and entertained. 6/30/07	It may seem hard to believe, but we always read and (mostly) listen to the member emails that come in. Now we can’t say we always follow the “advice” since some of the “suggestions” seem to be physically impossible, but some of them are actually nice, and those we tend to pay attention to. We also like giving friends a semi-public chance to “vent” when life has given them lemons … or marshmellow bunnies, or something … and so we’re able to accomplish two goals very early in the process today. We get to see a lot of “Dee Behind the Scenes” changing clothes and generally being adorable and we get to learn some history that involves many, many naked women. All in all, with this much accomplished before nine o’clock in the morning, we’d better go spend some quality time with the dogs. 6/17/07	We’re off to a geek convention so that we might learn new and improved ways to be confused in our everyday efforts, and then we’re staying down for the Erotica LA Convention next Weekend. Now as we understand it, one should make a practice of being kind to strangers, and so that’s what we’re doing in this particular mega-venture to entertain you in our absence. While Maverick doesn’t qualify as someone we don’t know obviously, we can assure you with absolute certainty that he is indeed stranger than most people you’ll ever meet. Lamenting his failure to arrange a visit to correspond with our upcoming parade with porn stars, he … let’s say, unhappily … pointed out that we never made time to publish his … let’s say unique … adventures at the AEE last January. So we’ve made the (considerable) effort to do that. Without providing too much editorial comment at this early juncture, let us just point out that you could read 1,000 words and look at 100 pictures on each of the seven days covering our little trip here, and you’d still have four more pictures to go – along with Heaven knows how many words. Culture is a curious thing; add it to the XXX world, and you’ve got an interesting animal to say the least.
