| 1/13/18 |  As we approach the annual convention season, we suddenly realized that with XBIZ and AVN now sort of hitting different audiences, unfortunately in sequence, attendance pulls us away from the comfort of a wall of computer monitors to the distinctly uncomfortable world of real people — with all the noise and germs that implies. Still, many of the people at the end of this basically two-week trek do happen to be quite winsome, so we do have that to look forward to after meeting with all the geeks for many, many days beforehand. Times and knowledge do change over time, though, and in these situations updates become necessary and valuable. Of course we would never presume to offer a chapter from the “Text Book of Julia Ann” as required course material at an institute for higher education. You know what helps a lot when you’re having one of those days where your team gives up TWO safeties in one game? 
Talking to young people can be fun. One can respond to a surprising number of quizzical expressions with the simple statement, “Well, I wasn’t always this old.” … Have you ever watched a movie, or heard a news report, or even seen a simple photograph and thought to yourself, “There is no way on earth I was ever, ever that dumb?” … Well, we haven’t either, and even if we had, we couldn’t admit it because some Millennial might get their little feelings hurt. 
We spend our lives dealing with the impact of time. We have to wait too long for it to pass. It passes too quickly. We can’t remember enough of the details we need to. We can’t forget nearly as much as we’d like. Bottom line: Time can be a real Bitch. 
Surprising as it may seem, you do not often get to watch honest-to-goodness, down-to-her-toes, female orgasms on screen very much these days. Fortunately on a particularly celebratory occasion, this will not be one of those days — at least for Risque Members — as we share Dee as she shares with us. We think of it as 
Michael Raven chose Paradise Lost to serve as an inspiration for an adult movie. Ironically, that ended up being an apt description of our path through the coverage of it — well, the “lost” part, not the every decision being fraught with the peril of eternal damnation part. All in all, despite losing a key author along the way, we have upheld the Risqué Tradition of insight with a healthy dose of humor along the way. For the record, we have no idea how long it took Mr. Milton to write the original manuscript, but we feel fairly confident that it was faster than the period of time that it took to finish our coverage of Mr. Raven’s movie. 
Defining one’s demographic has always been one of the most difficult parts of any business, but you can be certain that the successful ones do it well. Basically — in our often less than humble opinion, admittedly — we just believe that smart people don’t take time off just because the sun comes out. Also, you really don’t need to dedicate massive amounts of time here. We try to be more of a refreshing glass of lemonade on hot day — granted, ironically providing heat in many situations. 
Since you have to live through the longest day of the year anyway, you might as well spend it with Dee we figure. Granted, there may be other very fine options when it comes to ways to fill all this daylight, but look at it this way: 
Many fun things come from having a web site for this many years, but one of the best has to be being able to give a special hello to special friends on their birthdays. Now obviously a lot of people do this via all sorts of different social media outlets, but none of those can show off Rayveness as well as we can. A corollary of capitalism remains true: Companies bend to “public” pressures in different ways and at very different levels. Still, it doesn’t take an advanced degree to understand that sometimes larger companies can weather economic storms more easily than smaller ones. As it turns out, both of the companies used as illustration of that point today are out of business anyway, so now we’re all officially part of history. … And if that doesn’t make one feel old. … But you know what makes everyone feel young? … Julia Ann … The woman just doesn’t age.
