4/22/25	The entire Earth celebrates this day with a holiday not as famous as some certainly, but perhaps (or almost) as giving of peace, optimism, and general goodwill. In one teeny-tiny bit of that Earth, though, the Risqué folks celebrate this day for a more personal reason, that generally involving a card that says something along the lines of, “Hey, you would not be old if you were a TREE.” … We do like keeping with the Earth Day theme, after all. … Well, this time around a surprising number of people came out of the ether and helped put together a memory cookie for the leader (y’know, and everybody else) that could highlight how very, very long things have been very, very fun around here. 4/21/25	Way too much of modern life seems to indicate that for all intents and purposes, we have somehow entered the heretofore uncertain state of When Pigs Fly. Now many theories exist as to how this happened and how much real “danger” presents itself more and more each day, to the point where it all feels much too complicated. Consequently, we carry over our Easter hope from yesterday and simply decide to think about pigs flying in an entirely different way. Now we’re headed out for Vietnamese food. No idea why. 4/19/25	When you’re trying to find your way around a new situation, you will likely first try to orient yourself. Indeed, upon the final analysis, determining orientation may determine the difference between success and failure in whatever the goal may be. Today the producers attempt a different pun on the word, an intention we applaud for effort as a concept, as we deride the specific use case. For now, we must either forgive them for the era as we patiently (once again) explain that Asian is for people. Oriental is for rugs. … As a personal footnote, this author can personally reveal that trying to explain that difference to one’s father in the 1980s did not exactly result in patient gratitude. 4/11/25	Remember that old movie/tv gag line where one character said to the other, “If I told you, I’d have to kill you?” … Well, as our Nikita XXX romp rolls out, these characters appear to be taking that concept rather literally. We suppose the characters are dying happy, but honestly that seems like weak solace because, well, dead and all. … On the upside some magic Risqué History wove its way into the episode proving that one should always dream and take chances, because you just never know until you try. It also probably says that hanging out with us might be more fun than doing so with Bluebird. Heck, we have yet to kill even one person. 4/1/25	It all started innocently enough. Somebody made a joke at a meeting about us claiming to be doing an entire Lorraine Sisco shoot in one fell swoop of an update for April Fool’s Day. We all laughed, knowing the … um … quirky nature of our favorite Tall Goddess when she took the reigns on the shoot of her own. It was funny, even though the public at large would not be aware of the humor, thus making it a bad idea for a public celebration of this day anyway. … But — and this would be a big, big BUT — the new personal taking notes on the meeting somehow missed the humor intended and dutifully created the schedule. Thus after three people working two full days, we suddenly have ALL of the shoot presented again. Turns out the joke was on us, because only a fool would do such a thing. We’ll give you a couple day on this one, ironically exactly how long it took to shoot originally. You’ll be less tired after, though. … We’re going to try and explain humor to the Gen Z people. You might want to have your popcorn and frosty beverage ready when you press “play” on the scene, though. 6/22/19	One of our current favorite commercials features two presumably “famous” people sitting in a salon lamenting something about their cell phone storage capacity (we think). One of the people looks at the other and says, “I had to delete a picture of my grandmother, to take a picture of my grandmother.” Well, data storage space becomes an issue for us all during our lives, from the time we begin to learn until the time we no longer can — because we’re, y’know, dead. Fortunately, today we have some still living and decidedly memorable people to celebrate. You may need to clear some hard drive space. 6/15/19	If you are playing a role where, for example, your character has the task of repairing a jammed printer, you might at least bring to the role some of the typical knowledge about what people do in an attempt to fix paper jams. This, of course, presumes you are of sufficient age to know what printing devices attached to a computer are, or indeed what the word paper means, of course. To accomplish this most successfully, you should at least pretend that you have no idea what a PDF might be. In fairness, should your character also know that it will be having sex with Kaci Starr in a few minutes, that might be more than a little distracting on the method acting aspirations. 6/1/19	A decades-old debate has been going on between Geeks and Nerds, each claiming higher ground on the hierarchy of Not Quite Normal and Darned Proud of It. Much like the “At Least I’m Not” rationalization that exists in the world of Bikini Dancers > Topless Dancers > Nude Dancers, people create their illusions and grasp them with all their sanity. Of course only a small percentage of the “Real World” understands any of those groups, resulting in the fact that nobody much cares about the decades-old debate after all.
