Chasey Lain

Chasey Lain

Of course you won’t even need to wait for some condemnation, so that will help you develop the much thicker skin that will come in quite handy in the future. Parents, relatives, and old friends will hate you immediately, almost always sight unseen, because clearly their sweet daughter/friend would never have have decided to make adult movies without the hideous influence of some despicable, bling-laden, drug-providing, sweaty dude luring them into the odiferous swamp of Porn. You can think the position absurd, but make no mistake about it being quite real and powerful.

When you look like Chasey Lain, though, everything gets magnified ten-fold … at least. However, since I am not attempting the much larger and more general Chasey Lain Discussion, and I freely admit my personal addiction to rambling prose, I’ll try to stick more to the topic at hand for now: The Beauty and her Condoms. (Yeah, that was the original title of this article, but I changed it, providing yet another example of the ramifications of the rambling prose addiction. We need a ribbon color … .)

The Down & Dirty Chasey Lain Facts

OK. So the fast-forward version of Chasey’s early career goes like this:

  1. Chasey Signs with Feature Movie Upstart Wicked Pictures
  2. Chasey Signs Second Deal with Wicked in Combination with VCA
  3. Chasey Signs with Vivid Video

To some significant extent, this all happened because of condom usage in adult movies. (And there we go with that Truth stranger than Fiction thing again.)

Still going in warp speed here, Chasey aligns herself with a very small company that only had two movies released and about $80K in the bank. She takes a much smaller salary for her work in exchange for a significant piece of the back end – worldwide – and her Contract Performer Status at Wicked Pictures was born. As the deal was coming to a close (We did them for only a year at a time back then.), I found myself in the office of Steve Orenstein, Wicked’s owner, President, and still occasional Shipping Manager. (Steve and I used to go to movies in the afternoon on weekdays because there was nothing else to do. Those were the days. … )

Anyway, Steve had a very relevant point in this discussion. “Let me get this straight,” he lamented. “Because I did everything I said I would do, because I used Chasey in everything we did as company promotion, because I took her all over the country meeting distributors and setting up special promotions, because I did everything I could to build her name … Because of that, now I can’t afford to sign her again because she’s too popular and can get a better deal somewhere else?”

To this day I consider Steve a good friend, and one of the truly honorable individuals in the business, but my task was simply to represent Chasey in her career, so it wasn’t one of the really “fun” days I can recall in my management career. Still, we play the cards we’re dealt, so I answered in as brief and direct a fashion as I could muster. “Thank you?” I replied.

[Well, that may well have gone on longer than you’d hoped, at least judging by the length of a “normal” article on the web. As we mentioned at the outset, it goes on a long, long time inside. If you want to know the short answer, without the tedium and twenty bucks it costs to read the rest in the Members’ Area, it comes down to this. We sincerely hope Chasey emerges from this most recent “run with rehab” a woman committed to change in her life. We also equally sincerely hope that she stays away from a business that has been hard on her.]
