Audrey Hollander for Risque Luck

Risque Luck on Friday the 13th

“So. Do you want to watch a movie?” the barefoot beauty asked me innocently, “I think we still have some smoked baby-back ribs in the fridge in here, and I know there are a couple of really good bottles of Pinot Noir. I’ll make some jalapeno popcorn too.”

At this point I couldn’t have told you that Phoenix was a city in Arizona.

We watched many, many movies. At some point the shoot wrapped … I don’t know exactly what time. It was late. My notes seem a little thin on this particular point. Actually I’ve already repeated all of the notes I took that day, and except for the architectural pictures (and the couple of Justine Joli smoking), you’ve already seen all of the pictures.

Sigh.

It sounds funny as I read this back, but it all seemed perfectly logical at the time. When we finally headed back to the hotel, I called D.Minion from Michael’s car. “Did you cover everything today?” DM queried.

“Um. Sort of,” I hedged. The next day was a “down” day for more location scouting and costume rentals, and so I got to tell DM pretty much the story you’ve read here. That’s when she fired me. Some reporter-types are so touchy.

D.Minion drove to LA that evening, and when we went to the (even more impressive) location the next day, well, by golly, it was owned by the same guy as the first house, and Ms. Perfect was again there to Sheppard us through the next three days. Wouldn’t you know that this place had an even bigger home theater? Hell, the couches in the room cost $25,000 each and seated about 10 people across. Oh, and there were three of them, and a whole bunch of new DVDs in the cabinet. =)

DM was there to do whatever it turns out reporter-types are supposed to do, and I was already fired, so I decided to spend some time discussing various plot devices in film and extolling the virtues of various massage techniques on very cutely tanned toes. We had our meals delivered in the movie room, apparently being exempt from the “no food in the house” rule. It’s all whom you know in Los Angeles.

Even More Risque:  Lexi Perplexi

I could get used to this being fired thing, and according to all of the people who actually watched the shoot, it was really, really good.

Because I know you’re dying to see those wonderful architectural pictures, I’ve included them here. You can also take a quick glimpse of the “On-The-Set” group that Chris Hall took during the Catherine part, and then you can see a special Friday The Thirteenth Bonus from Michael, who thought I’d made the perfectly rational decisions over the last few days, by the way.

Oh, and did you know that if you pay close attention, and have some experience in the area, that it’s possible to read a blush in the dark?
