You look behind the curtain in any business and you will almost certainly find some fairly bizarre methods of reaching decisions, not to mention some possibly questionable values inherent in those. Most of the time this happens purely by the passage of time as generations of workers apply their methods to the “new” realities. Given this fact, we have decided that at the very least one should have beautiful naked women around the core decisions. They’re not necessarily smarter, or kinder, or in any way better suited (without suits, obviously) to make evolutionary changes, but they’re simply a lot more fun to look at when executives get it wrong. Every time we go to one of the big industry conventions we begin anew missing the elegance that Michael Ninn brought to the genre. Sure there continue to be some very fine directors that do some very fine work — even a bit of it quite beautiful — but Michael just had a way with talent, and quite simply with light that sets him apart from mere mortals. Since he celebrates his birthday on this date every year, we miss him and thank him all at the same time. We have all made it one more year

You just have to do a special celebration for “Leap Day” do you not? And let’s be honest, as a general rule, risque celebrations tend to be the best kind, y’know with the appropriate audience. Well, we have an even extra-special Leap Day celebration today, as we recently discovered a whole slew of On-the-Set pieces that previously existed only on the original MichaelNinn.com — which has been dead for more than a decade now. At one point in life we feel like birthdays cannot come quickly enough. Then we spend a good number of years pretty much ignoring them unless we have a significant other from which we might receive special treats. … Then birthdays sort of become different animals which we actively ignore. Well Dee has a birthday today, and apparently she falls somewhere in the transition between those last two because although she did not want attention drawn, she shows no signs of actually turning down 
Talk to any serious fan of a team playing in the Super Bowl, and they will tell that they probably feel as nervous before the game as any of the coaches or players. Sure, we know we have absolutely nothing to do with the outcome, and whatever happens will have absolutely no monetary impact on our lives. It changes the conversations at work in the morning, almost certainly increases the beer consumption in the winning city the night before, but that’s about it. Still, having been on the other side of the equation a number of times, we can claim with unequivocal certainty: Winning is better. [STAR TAGS: Go Denver Broncos!]
Due to the unusually large number of televisions in the office, as well as the “office team” being involved in the contest, we have confidence that we have done our fan preparation well by watching all the claimed “88 Live Hours” of programming on the NFL Network. At this point, we probably feel just like 99% of the people out there, players included: Just play the damned game! Only somewhere over 100 million people watch this event, however, either for the football or the commercials, so one of our leaders — not in the 100,000,000 as you might have guessed — insisted that we come up with a distraction she labeled 
As the year comes to a close, almost every media or news organization does some sort of “year in review” kind of program, which they follow with a “this year will be different in this way…” sort of thing. In our little part of California they did a survey where 55% of the people’s highest hope would be a new “forever home” for all the rescue animals out there. This seems nice until you read that coming in at #2 were 22% of the folks who most desired shelter for homeless people. … We’re not filled with optimism here, so we’re sticking with a 
We should be honest on Christmas, so let’s just admit that not all old elves can be jolly. Some of us need to work over the holidays because web servers seem to be quite disrespectful when it comes to celebration, seemingly waiting until nearly everyone has left for distant festive locations before deciding to invite all the digital gremlins inside and throwing a big kegger. This year, however, all has been quiet thus far — which probably just means that we should not even have mentioned it. … Consequently feel free to look for
