7/24/13	Probably due in no small part to a Big Bang Theory rerun, we decided we should all learn to speak Mandarin. After only about 30 minutes with Rosetta, however, we concluded that Chinese is hard, and so happily decided to forget about it and keep enjoying the little oranges instead. 7/6/13	You probably do not need to actually have moved a moderately-sized computer office in order to know that doing so really sucks. OK, so all moving really sucks, but moving a whole bunch of computers and peripherals really, really sucks. We were not all that surprised at the eight boxes D.Minion labeled “Random Cables,” but the ELEVEN BOXES that carried the identifier of “Last Minute” astounded even those of us that have known her for over a decade. Fortunately Shayla teases eno and Maverick enough today that we forgot all about the DM quirks … until we went to unpack the boxes, of course. 12/31/11	As near as we can tell, today happens to be New Year’s eve, and most places around the world happen to celebrate the new year with substantially more vigor and glee than they do any of those gift-giving holidays. Of course the vast majority of the world has at least a culture, but often an entire political system, that stems in no small degree from religious persecution, so maybe that makes sense. After all, it seems very wise to focus more on a day of the year you won’t get shot for celebrating, right? For our part, we have decided to stick to our roots as well. What they lack in historic violence and upheaval, they more than make up for in fun and nudity. This doesn’t set the bar very high, we understand, but as a rule we tend to prefer simple goals. (You members may have noticed.) And if D.Minion happens to discover our camouflaged secret, well, we plan on employing the exact same New Year’s Resolution we enjoy every year: Blame Maverick for everything. 12/31/10	At this point we’ve pretty much given up on Business as Usual around here, as everyone has pretty much fallen into the Full Panic mode about the upcoming convention. When we decided to put that Countdown for Gibby on top of New Stuff, we didn’t really anticipate that this would result in common wails of AAAARGH! in the office – every time somebody here opens up the site to check something. Presuming we haven’t been overrun by a collection of pirates, one might assume that the old “Ignorance is Bliss” theory definitely seems to hold water in this establishment. 4/30/10	Quite a few NFL rookie training camps opened today, as we’re certain each of you knows, since listening to anything at all that concerns either upcoming primary elections or whatever the government in Washington D.C. – and which political party thinks the other one has been taken over by morons – has long since ceased being interesting. Well, in Denver (in case you missed this vital information) they had a whopping 32 new team members present for this first day of workouts. And they had 47 members of the press in attendance to document all the vital information stemming from the day. They do like their Broncos in Colorado. … And speaking of Colorado, we have some news of our own regarding the beautiful state, and a bit of its homegrown beauty, actually. 4/28/10	Considering it has been quite difficult as of late to get a plane ride out of London, it’s probably a good thing that Maverick can find fun things to do within the city. 4/25/10	You love Fun Facts, right? … So Yahoo, clearly one of the better-known Internet Giants has been running a very simple poll that only had one question in it: “Are you in favor of the Health Care Reform Bill?” And NFL.com, presumably not nearly such a major player in the virtual world, has been running a rather more complicated poll, theoretically attempting to determine “The Top 75 Draft Picks of All Time.” (This wording sounds a bit like we could vote for Charleton Heston in Ben Hur, but it could just be that “Time” didn’t really start until the 1960’s.) … Now as of last Friday, slightly over 39 thousand people had voted on the Yahoo poll, and somewhere over 45 million people had voted on the Pro Football question. We’re not going to try to draw any conclusions for you from that little tidbit of information, but we will tell you that Michael Ninn did not cast a vote in either arena, because he’s been rather busy being all artistic and such. 4/21/10	Clearly almost everyone finds themselves now camped in front of ESPN, waiting breathlessly for the NFL Draft to begin tomorrow.
