5/3/15	Big weekend for sports. … Millions of fans watch a frozen rubber puck get pushed around a sheet of ice. Millions more watch bouncy orange balls try to make it through a hoop. Horses run around in a circle with tens of millions of dollars at stake. Couple guys try to beat each other to death with their fists, actually earning hundreds of millions of dollars. Then we have the NFL doing its version of picking teams on the playground with all the guys not being picked being sad/mad about all the guys picked before them. Sometimes it seems like we never emotionally develop much past six years of age. We decided to use professional athletics as a metaphor as we examine the overriding gray areas in modern American civilization. We looked it up on the Internet, and you still can’t just go around killing people, but as near as we could tell, simply glaring at them while hoping their favorite sports team losing the next 100 games in a row would be just fine. Standards change. The “average” consumer gear gets increased capabilities without them buying anything new, or doing anything differently. Then we have a couple decades’ worth of experiences to try and correlate with Terabytes of stored “assets” (again, as it were), while every day the cast of characters changes. It can be overwhelming. … Then we think about all the beautiful naked women involved with the jobs, and we think, “Oh, right.
