10/31/08	We have a lot of wonderful posts around here. (Right?) But we don’t always have wonderfully timed posts around here. Part of the nature of a true “reality in the porn business” site happens to be that schedules can change rapidly – and frequently. We don’t do the typical “print every press release you can find about the business and then try to sell advertising space on your site” sort of approach that almost all of the adult sites do these days. We just try to provide a meek little “Adult Diary” (remember that name you old timers?) of what happens in our little neck of the woods (or whatever body part seems pertinent that particular day). So imagine our surprise when we woke up and somebody on The Today Show mentioned that it’s Halloween. Gee. You’d think we’d notice something like that, at least you would if you didn’t understand the chaos that occasionally defines our existence. Still, we changed the plan once again because there’s really nothing more apropos for this particular day than “Dee & Demon Dog” …. You can see that, right? … Maybe we’ll use today’s plan for tomorrow, or maybe by tomorrow the plan will change again and we’ll have to postpone it to some future time, at which point we’ll undoubtedly say, “Didn’t we put that up yesterday?” Sadly, we’re occasionally like that too. 10/27/06	What do you know? We already have Day Two from Fem: L’Amour ready for your inspection. This time around we’ve got the promised pictures of Heather Vuur and Justine Joli (along with Karlie Montana in that particular scene), and then D.Minion covers the uncovered lasses Marlie Moore, Samantha Ryan, Faith Leon, and Daisy Layne. All in all it’s our usual bevy of beauties along with some “absolutely perfect” lighting. Read all about it, or just look at the pictures. Whatever. 10/25/06	Lon sent in his pictures from The Gathering and soon they will be selling for millions of dollars. If you want to understand the logic behind that, you’ll have to read today’s post. If, however, you’d prefer just seeing Justine Joli in various states of undress (all in California, ironically) doing various “things” to herself, then at least this will be much easier to understand. 10/22/06	Well, we’re a little lighter in the salary column than we were a week ago (or we will be in a month), but sometimes people get just a little too comfortable, a little too quickly, you know? Then they begin taking liberties, and don’t even understand enough to ask a simple question when we patiently explain that they are not John Stewart Mill. Ah, well …. Consequently, we begin today with “Day One” of D.Minion’s BTS coverage of Fem: L’Amour and we’ll fill in the rest soon. Now this thumbnail, in case you’re wondering, happens to picture a vintage foot massager. Honestly, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Heather Vuur, Angie Savage, Kimberly Kane, or even Kellemarie; it does, however, appear in the coverage of those uncovered on this day. 10/19/06	Today we have Lon’s take (and D.Minion’s comments) on The Gathering. Sometimes you need to be careful about the adjectives that you choose, because you don’t want to give the wrong impression. Those grammar aficionados out there will quickly recognize that this first sentence has no adjectives. Make of that what you will. … Oh, and if you’re wondering where we got the unusual thumbnail for this post, you’ll have to check out the entry. Just like Sacred Sin there is a “secret code” somewhere in the story that tells you the answer to this burning question. Unlike Sacred Sin, however, you will not win a free autographed Eddie Van Halen guitar if you are the first to guess the answer. Sorry. On the upside, also unlike Sacred Sin, this “code” is just written in plain English, so it’s really not that hard to figure out. You take the bad with the good in life. 10/18/06	Sometimes you just need to take a break. For example if you’re innocently looking at coming in to work and putting together a festive look at being on the set of Fem: L’Amour and then somebody runs up before you even sit down and says they’re “not done with the 339 pictures yet, and don’t bug me about it.” And then you hear loud cursing sounds from an office close by that says “10,000 f*king words?” And then the normally unflappable computer dude happens by without* the heretofore ubiquitous cup of coffee, and says (for the very first time you’ve ever heard, ever) “I’m not sure if I can do anything with these mpeg files for Friday. … Clearly drastic and frantic solutions were in order, and the Big-Boss-Hog-Honcho’s off in meeting today. … Immediately a stunningly simple solution came to mind, involving a simply stunning Anais. … Don’t you love it when a different plan comes together? 8/29/06	If all really is well that ends well, then this is well. And if you missed the first part of the “episode” yesterday, you can read the entire saga (and enjoy the full “bonus” we were discussing) today. As it turns out, Official People are very tired at 2:00 in the morning, whereas Annoying People are just more Annoying. We have learned a valuable lesson. 8/28/06	Hmm. Now this isn’t our best thing, that’s for sure. We’ve pretty much told it like it “is” on the inside here, but seeing as how these “New Stuff” posts end up on the free side at the end of every month, some people think we need to be more politically correct out here. And I thought we got into this business so we didn’t have to bother with pissant PC crap all the time (and that wasn’t really meant as a metaphor but it suits the mood just fine). Consequently you may consider this a nice, polite, and even fresh-smelling comment about what’s in store for today, but that’s about all we can say about it. This picture probably doesn’t help at all, but then why would it? The point of being “Politically Correct” is to obscure the point, right? 8/24/06	In the midst of all the chaos here (which pretty much could begin just about every paragraph we ever type, come to think of it) somehow, somebody (who may not work here much longer, come to think of that) discovered that we’d forgotten to put up D.Minion’s fawning coverage of Justine playing Audrey Hollander’s body double (or more accurately “out of body” double) on day one of the Catherine shoot. Then this somebody went so far as to mention it to D.Minion, who then proceeded to scream and yell and loudly complain about it. OK. D.Minion doesn’t really scream and yell, but those hurt little puppy eyes that she’s learned from the many dachshunds around here work even better. Consequently we quickly caved in our resolve to be done with the last big movie Michael shot until at least we finished talking about this latest big movie Michael shot, and so we’re righting our wrong today. 8/21/06	We figured it out. A picture is worth 1,000 words, and there are 30 pictures every second that run through a typical video moment (at least in the U.S., but let’s not overcomplicate here). Therefore D.Minion saved us over a half a million words in her Day Three post, although it may not seem like it once you’re done going through it. Oh, and this was just on the part she didn’t talk about at all. Go figure. One the upside, Day Three did include naked visions of not only the stars of Sacred Sin Heather Vuur and Jassie, but also some memorable visits from A.J. Bailey and Nevaeh. Then of course there’s the captivating scene where no one got to have sex with Dee, but we’re not bitter or anything. We are going to have to speak to the Director about this, though. 8/19/06	Perhaps “Art Theory” would best describe our timid foray into understanding the mind of Lorraine Sisco today. Actually the only words we’re completely sure of in that last sentence would be “timid” — at least upon reflections. You’ll pretty much have to judge for yourself the art vs. plain weirdness debate that could plague us (if only we cared much about it), but at least you’ll get to see some pretty darned interesting video from The Catalyst in the process. 8/17/06	So here’s the story … We happen to be talking to Lon about coming out to the Eddie Van Halen party at the end of September, and during the course of the conversation we happen to ask, “Hey, whatever happened to that Erotica LA story you said you were writing?” (We’re a lot more subtle sometimes, but not very often.) Anyway, Lon says, “I sent it to you a long time ago.” (What he left unsaid but implied was that we sometimes get a little busy and a “few” weeks go by without stories ever making actually onto the site, but we got the point.) “We never got it,” was the honest reply. “Well, I wondered why it never ran,” said a very patient Lon, “I’ll send it to you again.” (He’s nice and very helpful too, that Lon.) “Excellent!” we immediately reply, “Now we can stall some more before we have to do Day Three.” So while you won’t see 100-some-odd photos from D.Minion, you can see a bunch of porn stars hanging around a sex convention and hear about Lon and DM as a couple. 8/15/06	One of the really odd things we’ve noticed over the years is how much things seem to go in “spurts” in our business, if you’ll please pardon the pun. For example, sometimes you won’t go to a location for years, and then all of the sudden you’re there three times in a month. And sometimes you won’t have any wonderful pictures video on Dee (and Anais) for a long time, and then all the sudden everywhere you look it’s popping up, again pardon the pun. Well, this is NOT Day Three of DM’s Sacred story but that’s coming soon, and wouldn’t you know it, Dee’s on that day too. It’s a very good thing Dee’s easy on the “Ayes” … You don’t have to pardon that pun, as we did it on purpose. (You don’t have to like it though; it’s America, after all.) 8/9/06	It’s a couple of interesting tidbits with a peek into the magic and mechanics of filmmaking that we’re looking at today, but you’ll really have to read the story to see what specifically we’re talking about. Since this eventually ends up on the “free” side of the site, we can’t say too much about it where just anyone could read it some day. Suffice it to say that a wonderful collection of Dee as a nude talk show host on KSEX barely scratches the issue, and even on the free side we can point out that a naked Dee makes for a stellar beginning to just about any event we can think of. 6/29/06	We have a curiously brief report on Erotica LA today, possibly having something to do with D.Minion’s sudden (and almost unexplained) incapacity. Gee. We just can’t figure out what happened. But there are 60 pictures here, and some video clips of items seen at the show that almost uniformly have no practical application. Come to think of it, that pretty much defines our goal in life. 6/25/06	LA Erotica was actually a bit wackier this year than it has been historically, and we’re blaming D.Minion. That seems fair since she’s been hanging out with Lorraine Sisco altogether too much and has plastered us with 310 pictures, a secret mpeg, and 3000+ words covering the bizarre second day of Lorraine’s The Catalyst. These two women should quit hanging out so much together, and so we’ve decided just to tie DM to a chair in the office, or maybe to one at her house so she could commune with her cat. We’re definitely breaking her keyboard, so enjoy these Mega-Epics while you can. Some day we’ll look back on this and laugh … She swears. 6/20/06	It’s a bit of nostalgia, with stories of a young Devinn Lane, and it’s a bit of awe, as we look at all the Wicked Pictures can do with a DVD release, and it’s more than a bit of the shamelessness that makes us loveable that we’re offering today. Well, maybe we’re not loveable, per se, but that’s really the only word we could think of on the spur of the moment, and we didn’t want to delay you any further from D.Minion’s review of Wicked’s Camp Cuddly Pines Power Tool Massacre. 6/19/06	Well don’t everyone fall off of their chairs or anything, but we’re back again. The new system seems to be working remarkably well (although we’ll almost certainly regret saying that). We’re going with just a typical little D.Minion story today, this being her “pre-production observations” of Sacred Sin. We looked at the entire story in Word and learned, much to our dismay, that the entire discourse covers some 10,027 words. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, our immediate suggestion was to just give y’all a dozen pictures and let you keep the change. D.Minion’s look was not one of adoration at this suggestion, however. So we’re breaking it up, and we promise to get through it all – if for no other reason than everyone here is pretty much afraid of D.Minion. Women in their 40’s get a little scary you know … . 6/18/06	This isn’t so much a “let’s see if this works” kind of thing as it is a “OK. Fine. We’ve been promising you we’d do this since the Dark Ages (translation: Before Sacred Sin), so now we’re finally doing it.” sort of thing. That said, we still ended up with a rather intimate portrayal of a Fine English Lass named Faye, courtesy of our friend Maverick. Granted, Mav sometimes forgets to focus, and he never once looked into the background of the shot, but considering what Faye was doing and what she was (or was not) wearing, we can kind of understand the scattered approach. For an evolved amateur, Maverick seems to be catching on just fine. He even included a couple of variations on a video theme that we’re just going to stop talking about now, and for the record, we’re just going to assume he’s not the “P” in “POV” … . 6/17/09	Experimentations and Confirmations continue as we struggle desperately to find something to serve the dual purpose of being interesting for you, and giving us a chance to stretch the limits of our server capabilities. 6/17/06	Those of you that have been members for awhile will recognize the “Gee, we tried to automate the mechanics here, and we’re just sufficiently weird in the way we approach the web that even really smart web people can’t figure out how to fit us into any sort of automatic database system.” Ah, well. Quite honestly this isn’t the first area in life where we’ve continued to learn that we just don’t fit in all that well. … So we’re back to the old “do it by hand” method, and we’ve got to run through the variety of different types of posts that we do in order to be sure everything’s back to normal — well, normal to us. You can start today to see if things Clique for you as they have for many people (judging from sales of the title), and we’ll move along to the next “hand-crafted” category. 2/26/06	Do you know how you know you’re in Los Angeles? I was sitting outside a little sandwich shop yesterday and a guy walked down the street in one of those t-shirts that have obviously been washed about 500 times – you know the “favorite shirt” kind of washing? The shirt said, “If we are what we eat, then I’m going to be you in the morning.” THAT’S how you know you’re in Los Angeles. Now you might want to decide if you’d rather spend a few days in LA, or (finally) peruse D.Minon’s account of the 2006 AEE. They should both take about the same amount of time, we’re betting, but the DM insights will still be cheaper, so they have that going for them. 2/21/06	We’ve got a Big Time Stall going on around here today, but that doesn’t matter as much because we’ve also got the luscious Sarah Blake to help us fill our time. We’ve often said that we lead a very strange life, but it may be that strangeness has no bounds around us. A graduating high school senior (Yes, he’s 18, D.Minon.) casually asked me at lunch if I knew anything about Porn Stars. It seems his final paper has to do with “Women Enslaved by Pornography.” And the only thing this kid knows about me is that I’m friends with his dad. I expect I’d better ask Dad how much I can tell the young inquiring mind. As it turns out, I probably do know something about this subject. The rest of you should probably just enjoy Sarah. 2/17/06	It’s quite possible that we have a Secret Agent as a member. At least that’s the latest philosophy around here, as we all went through Mr. Moto’s Photos from the AEE. After looking at over 1,000 pictures, not to mention actually attending the event, you’d think we wouldn’t be surprised by the people that our good friend managed to photograph. So we figure he just has some special powers, but at least he only uses them for good, and he does share with us after all, so that’s OK. 2/1/06	We’ve said it before, but we really do lead very strange lives around here. And apparently the condition can be catching as we’ll learn today. Once a distant Kristal Summers fan, then a shy Members’ Party attendee, and eventually a regular visitor to the Risqué homefront, our friend Maverick has taken a professional turn that’s really hard to explain. Now it’s not so much that the industry has a new webmaster among its members as it is that Maverick is that new persona. We know Maverick, and Maverick does NOT shoot POV videos with professional adult entertainers. Something is very, very wrong in the universe. We’re calling this “Fayed to Maverick” but that’s only for as long as it takes us to find that “Turn Back Time” Machine.
