So we were talking about Sophia Lynn’s story (again, as we seem to be some of the very few groups that seem to like and understand her), and how many of the women that leave the business seem to end up in one Church or another. The discussion took on a keener interest when Bijou noted that for all the times people find it necessary to “find” Him, He sure seems to get lost a lot – particularly for a Deity, after all. Post Scripts have never been a big part of the risqué site, and by that we mean that to our knowledge we’ve never done one before, but a degree of uncharacteristic efficiency in the office mandated the approach today. After many, many moons Minion Maverick has meandered back. During his hiatus forced by the ever-so-capable and friendly ISP company in the U.K., though, he did manage to cook up a collection of newly refined skills to aid his web presentations. … Sadly, he did seem to forget all the basic steps he used to actually make posts work, but after some time (and perhaps some recreational taunting) we did manage to get Mav’s latest KazB Bonanza off the ground. Pundits say that this past Presidential Election will have marked historical significance because “you will always remember where you were when Barack Obama became President.” Now we’re including this bit of information not because this pundit theory actually demonstrates any sort of keen insight, but rather because you just don’t get to say the word “pundit” very often in life, and so you should always take advantage of the opportunity when it presents itself. Well, that was an unusual election, right? Most of us around here have lived long enough to understand the surreal feeling that swept the nation when the results actually became final last night, and for the younger members of our team we released an Official Memo that covers their situation quite succinctly: They have to be quiet until they’re at least 30. We’ll cover the political insights that surfaced on the set last week in a future post, be we will say that Charlie Laine had some of the most logical takes on our socio-economic position, gay rights, and even religion in general. Gosh it was good to talk to Charlie. … Naturally that got us to thinking about the dear lass, and that got us to remembering old friends in general, and that got us to today’s diversion to all the “What the heck happened to the Republicans, and whose fault is it?” discussions littering the networks and the web. So we have a 700 Billion Dollar problem and the President says, “Oops. Those darned Wall Street People …. But we’re winning the war. Did I mention?” … Granted it has been some time since Econ 101, but it seems like actually printing money to solve a problem doesn’t turn out to be a very good long-range solution. Still, it is America and we can’t have a whole bunch of rich people all of the sudden becoming poor people. That just won’t do. … On the upside, we’re avoiding the economic issues of the time and using D.Minion’s view of “Innocence”  — perhaps as a metaphor for its loss, but still …. All good things come to an end, at least that’s what people who are trying to rationalize their condition after realizing that they won’t be able to enjoy something that has been really fun try to think. For us, having the Olympics on pretty much all the time in the office has been a splendid way to add a little mix to the mesh. We will miss it for the next couple of years, but we have learned about a whole lot of countries we’d never even heard of, so that’s a bonus. Also for us, assisting Maverick with his redesign has come to an end as well — which goes to show that even not necessarily all that good things come to an end too. Whew. Now we’re able to go back to the more fun adventures, this time involving our much more traditional entertainment in Kristal Summers and Dee. Everyone should have closets full of things like we do. It seems like our invitation to the big premiere party for “The Four” must have gotten lost in the mail. Dang. Consequently we decided rather to spend our entertainment dollars on Rodney Carrington, who happened to be in town. We figured out why Mr. Carrington enjoys our site (at least as much as we’re sure he would if he actually knew who we are, naturally). Early in his act he relates a story about going to church that certainly sounds like us. “My heart’s in the right place,” he says, “It’s just my mind that wanders off into the gutter.” … Now this really has nothing whatsoever to do with D.Minion’s coverage of Angel Cassidy Exposed, but it was funny. We can’t help it. International sports has been a common topic of conversation around the office this week, and so we got to wondering. Don’t you think they could draw in a lot more consistent interest in gymnastics if they just took that little 4” beam and raised it up about 30 feet into the air? You could at least pull in the NASCAR and Ultimate Fighting Fans, and they drink beer. Somebody should tell Budweiser. …Well, it was just a thought. Oh, good grief! We turned on the Olympics each of the past two weekend mornings, and can you guess what NBC was showing? Yep. Rowing. … Worse yet, on Saturday, the UK team beat the US team, although we can’t say we were paying enough attention to determine if this happened to be some qualifying heat or some other kind. Still, what are the odds? Well, in addition to dodging phone calls from Maverick we also decided to show off something that not even one Olympic competitor can claim. Dee. We had to post today, because all those eights are really good luck, and we can generally use all the luck we can find. If you knew about eights being good luck, and you’re not Chinese, then odds are good you’ve been watching all the hype for the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing tonight. In the spirit of friendly competition we thought we’d feature a couple of a different kind of athlete today, albeit in slightly less clothing. Although we’re thankfully back to the “beautiful naked woman” philosophy, somehow our beloved D.Minion has managed to work in 70’s television themes, specifically involving The Mod Squad this time around.
