| 7/4/25 |  Perhaps the song which most exemplifies almost all days in our industry might be “Time of My Life” — from a movie with an entirely appropriate title, oddly enough. That said, even in really fun jobs, not every day can be ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Regardless of our chosen career, most of us have at one point or another in our lives suddenly realized the weight of some choice we have made, and nobody has ever thought, “Oh, great! More weight!” … Still, one needs to view life on balance, and given that perspective, it’s probably a lot better to look like Gemma Massey than not. As her spy story concludes today, we do not find ourselves particularly worried about her, actually. Currently we have begun a search for more rainbow sprinkles. Apparently the members’ party story the other day raised a lot of questions via email about Kristal’s “visitor” to the event. Given the comfort and, well, visual appeal of this guest, we understand how eyebrows raised and curiosity piqued. Rather than answer a slew of emails individually, we decided to just dig up the introductory piece we did around that time explaining the history and the thoughts at the time. Think of it as sort of a Welcome to Anais Before She was Anais sort of thing. Exceptional woman, that one. She had an admirable inner strength, despite being super pretty. As a general principle, the more a movie budget decreases, the amount of cleverness required to make something memorable increases. If you throw a bunch of money at something, of course, that will not necessarily make it a hit — or even interesting — but at least you can get first-rate special effects and explode a bunch of stuff to distract people. Perhaps non-intuitively, adult movies tend to follow the same rules as all the other movies (well, except the stars need to be willing to do much more with each other than just kiss). Still, we have lots of cleverness in our world, as evidenced by an update we’re calling Spin on Me in our vernacular. The movie producers used more biological specificity in their title, but we felt that unnecessary out here in the free world. … See? Clever. One might believe that entering into the schedule an embellishment of an update entitled “May Day! May Day!” might find its way into publication on the first of May.
