In our bizarre little world, the phrase “Trick or Treat” takes on a vastly different meaning than you will likely hear at your doorstep this evening. (At least we really, really hope so, and if not, you live in a truly weird neighborhood.) Still, as the holiday season approaches most of our office sets to the task of planning for next year, having either successfully completed the schedule for this year or having decided to just scrap a bunch of it after a suitable application of tequila.

There are too many numbers in modern life, have you noticed? You’d think it would be much easier, because no one has to remember those annoying 7-digit phone numbers anymore, and if there was an area code too? Egads! … Nope. Now to call mom no matter where she moves, it’s just Favorites-1-Send. (Because if you don’t have your mom as number one, you’re gonna get in trouble.) … Still when

All over the world quiet little behind-the-scenes network geeks constantly work to improve performance and security when it comes to making purchases online. Most of the time they make changes that almost nobody notices, but they strive in virtual anonymity to make our modern world a safer place — without any cool costumes or superpowers or anything. Occasionally when this happens it can mess up some beautiful code that we “front end” people created often years ago, and although things still work properly, they do not appear the same way they used to.
