Consequently, we have decided to see how the other half lives and completely ignore the science. Yep. We will simply pretend that tomorrow will be completely different from today — absolutely, 100%, and in all manners, resolutely different. We feel very welcoming today, which turns out to be a very good thing, as Welcome to the Valley will end up being a months-long exercise in fun, fantasy, and some other word starting with “f” that encourages you to happily enjoy the fictionalized version of life in the adult movie business. 
Well this has been particularly exciting, even for the chaos that normally surrounds a U.S. Presidential Election. Both sides always think the other misguided and lacking in the prioritization proper for whatever issues seem important at the time. However, this time about 50% of the people think the other 50% of the people are completely certifiably wackadoodle. (Sorry if we got overly technical there.) Then here we are four days later, and we still do not know if we are happy or sad, again, regardless of which side of the Trump fence you picnic. So we decided to highlight the discombobulation with a much smaller scale issue in Bluebird’s Macbeth, Act 2. While obviously holding vastly more importance on a global scale, the electoral process does suffer from a distinct lack of nudity. So we win! Not to make fun of a genius or anything but trying to make parting less painful by calling it “sweet sorrow” is like trying to ease the impact of amputation by calling it weight loss. Seriously, when you really enjoy something, do you ever really want it to end? After careful consideration, the Offices of the Risqué Commune have reached a unanimous decision that we should all become Jewish. Now this has nothing whatsoever to do with religion, or God, or even a preference for unleavened bread. In fact, we do not even know if any of the people from today’s Macbeth episode are Jewish. Nope. It has nothing to do with any of that. … You see, we just found out that Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, which — as we also found out — means that Jewish people are celebrating a New Year already. Since 2020 has colossally sucked on so many levels we cannot begin to enumerate them, we simply decided to convert. So that’s all there is to it. Right? (Oh! If you dig up a buried treasure, does it cease being treasure and become something mundane like really expensive cool stuff or some such? If you have really expensive cool stuff, actually, why would you bury it in the first place? How many of us carry around a spare shovel just in case we might need it during the day? And if you must bury your treasure, why does everyone always put a big ol’ “X” on the map so that everyone knows where the really expensive cool stuff can be found? If you put like a dachshund emoji or something, people might think you odd, but they probably would not be digging for all your valuables. … These are the sorts of thoughts that consume us here at Risqué, y’know while 
If you have ever had to read Stream of Consciousness and then try to explain its brilliance to someone, then you might have some understanding of what work orders before a long weekend can look like around here. If you happen to be one of those people who looks at modern art and cannot for the life of you figure out how one bunch of squiggly lines, or red squares, yellow dots, and blue triangles displays greater talent and keen insight into the human condition than any other, well, you should apply for a job here. You’ll fit right in. 
Living these days comes down to pretty much feeling like a professional funambulist. Ironically, the whole “fun” part tends to be distinctly lacking, however. Between getting glared at for not wearing a mask, to getting glared at for wearing a mask, like outside has become pretty darned complicated. How many of us ever thought we’d ever even have a remote opinion about which kinds of masks we like versus which kind we do not? How many of us ever considered owning masks in different styles and colors before a couple of months ago? Then there are the “hoax” people … which we should likely not comment upon. So we just decided to stay inside and look at

We all happen to be living in very strange times. Regardless of what has happened when we can finally consider this whole COVID-19 thing “over” — whatever that ends up meaning — the world will be a fundamentally different place. Currently some leaders have undertaken various acts of broad, narrow, or quite possibly simply denial aspects. A percentage of the people consider those decisions wise, thoughtful, and undoubtedly difficult, albeit well-intentioned. The rest of us consider these actions, to use the technical term, completely and wholeheartedly wackadoodle. This morning a headline in the paper boasted that a local aquatic center would be partially opening soon, for example. How crazy is that? If you only partially open an aquatic center, all the water is going to leak out. …
