Sitting next to Ms. Lynn was Farrell Hirsch, Playboy Radio muckity-muck, and producer of Ginger’s Playboy Radio shows. He began by telling the crowd that Ginger is the kind of person who makes radio great! The shows he produced for her were always well prepared, perfectly planned, and thoroughly thought out. Ginger did due diligence on her guests and topics, plus she was always prepared with files of games, quizzes, sexy news, etc., so there wasn’t that dreaded dead air if a guest didn’t show up or a topic fell flat. [For the record, we do not really mind flat guests so much, but if they happen to be falling down, we do try to avoid them until they have more of their wits about themselves.]
Farrell added that Ginger proved her mettle on her Playboy Radio premier with Vivid “sister” Christy Canyon. One of the first callers was a hater. But instead of shocking or bothering Ms. Lynn with, “I’m going to shove a hot poker up your ass,” Ginger replied with, “That sounds so hot!” (“Don’t throw me in the briar patch Br’er Fox!”) After that, few crank callers bothered calling in! [Well, how exactly do you throw off a host that just rolls with suggestions of searing rectal insertions? Most people would have to think about that one for at least a little while.]
The best thing about being on Internet Radio/Podcasts, Ginger opined, is that you can be yourself. You can be honest with your fans, and they will love you all the more. Ginger stated that she loves what she does. Talking with fans on the phone, answering questions, and sharing her experiences (without the pesky government censoring your words or actions) provides immeasurable advice as well as entertainment for her audience. [Also, it’s simply fun.]
When asked if there is money to be made in Adult Radio, Ginger Lynn assured the onlookers that it was possible, but not effortless. She said the easiest way is to do your research. Check out trade magazines, and then call the advertisers to see if they would like to advertise on your show as well. “You have to do the work to make the money,” Ginger stated. [Oh, well, darn.]
If you don’t own your own podcasting equipment, studio rental can cost from $50-$100 an hour. “It’s not cheap, but if you put the work in, it will come back to you tenfold,” she advised.
When the seminar ended, I watched with pleasure as Ginger Lynn happily answered questions from audience members who wanted some one-on-one time with her. (And who wouldn’t?) As always, she was kind and helpful and personable and sexy — giving her fans all the time they needed. Yup, Ginger was just being herself, which is one of the many reasons she is so successful as a podcaster and a porn star, and a PERSON! [Ginger also happens to be an awesome cook, so should she ever invite you to dinner you should go. … Fine. There may be other reasons to accept that invitation as well, but the food really will be excellent.]
