So when Monique Alexander showed up on set, it came as a wonderful surprise. (We usually get the shooting schedules ahead of time from the producers, but that didn’t happen this time around. Not that I’m still bitter about it or anything …) By one of those whims of fate, I happened to be on Monique’s very first shoot for Sin City some eight or nine years ago. She went on to be a Vivid Contract Star for several years, and she showed up on Michael’s set fresh from that “exclusive” starlet world. Other than at conventions, Monique and I hadn’t talked much lately, but seeing as how we had a bunch of extra time waiting for the replacement to arrive, we had time for a long chat. Most of what we talked about would either be uninteresting or inappropriate for publication, but she did have a wonderful characterization of her journey thus far.
“When I started, I was living alone in [a small LA suburb], doing just girl/girl scenes. Then I got the big Vivid contract, and I got the fancy house and car, doing boy/girl scenes. Now I’m back in [the same LA suburb], living alone, and doing just girl/girl scenes. … But I know myself a lot better now. I save my money, and I can honestly say I’m happy for the first time in my career.”
As you probably know, happy women make everyone around them happy. And happy, naked, women that look like Monique can make people happy, even if they’re not technically around her.
