| 9/18/20 |  After careful consideration, the Offices of the Risqué Commune have reached a unanimous decision that we should all become Jewish. Now this has nothing whatsoever to do with religion, or God, or even a preference for unleavened bread. In fact, we do not even know if any of the people from today’s Macbeth episode are Jewish. Nope. It has nothing to do with any of that. … You see, we just found out that Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, which — as we also found out — means that Jewish people are celebrating a New Year already. Since 2020 has colossally sucked on so many levels we cannot begin to enumerate them, we simply decided to convert. So that’s all there is to it. Right? (Oh! Living these days comes down to pretty much feeling like a professional funambulist. Ironically, the whole “fun” part tends to be distinctly lacking, however. Between getting glared at for not wearing a mask, to getting glared at for wearing a mask, like outside has become pretty darned complicated. How many of us ever thought we’d ever even have a remote opinion about which kinds of masks we like versus which kind we do not? How many of us ever considered owning masks in different styles and colors before a couple of months ago? Then there are the “hoax” people … which we should likely not comment upon. We finish up Planet of the Babes today with a couple of (naturally astute) observations here, lest you miss them in the update — y’know because of all the naked people and whatnot. First, should you ever be forced to try and make your way alone in the wilderness, having Asia Carrera go with you can hardly make things worse, and might actually improve your state of mind a great deal. Granted, taking Lola too might have been even better, but apparently sticking close to the original script seemed preferable to that ending. Seems like a strange place to draw the line, but whatever. We know some people believe that being in large groups, without masks, close together, shouting, singing, chanting, and generally being raucous carries with it a great risk of contracting a potentially deadly disease. Call this Belief Option A. … We know other people believe that this whole virus thing has been blown way out of proportion and that the economy has tanked because of the fear-mongering liberal press. These would be Belief Option B folks. … Finally, we know that President Trump deeply loves his giant political rallies stuffed with adoring throngs, and he wants to get those going again ASAP.
