7/28/20	Living these days comes down to pretty much feeling like a professional funambulist. Ironically, the whole “fun” part tends to be distinctly lacking, however. Between getting glared at for not wearing a mask, to getting glared at for wearing a mask, like outside has become pretty darned complicated. How many of us ever thought we’d ever even have a remote opinion about which kinds of masks we like versus which kind we do not? How many of us ever considered owning masks in different styles and colors before a couple of months ago? Then there are the “hoax” people … which we should likely not comment upon. So we just decided to stay inside and look at adult movie stars. Don’t even need a mask for that. 7/16/20	The more things get dicey in real life, the more they seem to get dicey in our Play Misty observations. In both real and vicarious life, though, it seems that men are basically idiots who cannot see past a pretty woman, no matter what the situation. We cannot say with any certainty how this realization might help the current terrible situation in the world right now, but we can say that although Misty will finish up on Risqué within a month, the world will just as certainly still be sucky. 7/15/20	Spend about 15 seconds on any news program these days, and you’ll figure it out. Try going into some previously “normal” store, or basically anywhere out in public, and it might take a couple of minutes instead of 15 seconds, but you will reach the same conclusion: Some people really just need to Chill, you know? 7/14/20	So it does happen to be “a” 14th, even though most people would not consider July to contain, The Important 14th of the year. Still, we have begun getting (a surprising amount) or requests to prioritize the older video remastering process so that when Adobe Flash goes hasta la vista, bebé at the end of the year, people will not lose their favorites. This batch only comes from as far back as Valentine’s Day, 2018, but these days that seems like a long time ago. Remember when we could go outside and strangers would see us smile at them? Regardless of what has happened when we can finally consider this whole COVID-19 thing “over” — whatever that ends up meaning — the world will be a fundamentally different place. Currently some leaders have undertaken various acts of broad, narrow, or quite possibly simply denial aspects. A percentage of the people consider those decisions wise, thoughtful, and undoubtedly difficult, albeit well-intentioned. The rest of us consider these actions, to use the technical term, completely and wholeheartedly wackadoodle. This morning a headline in the paper boasted that a local aquatic center would be partially opening soon, for example. How crazy is that? D.Minion cannot possibly author an entire series of articles referencing the former mayor of Carmel, California, without eventually “splitting” off that discussion to the merits of caramel ice cream. You might wish that not to happen, but if you know anything about us at all, you clearly knew those hopes were in vain. On the upside, we did manage a ménage à trois illustration with a man most famous as basically a caricature of himself along with two suitably festive female companions. So be brave. Granted, taking Lola too might have been even better, but apparently sticking close to the original script seemed preferable to that ending. Seems like a strange place to draw the line, but whatever. 6/19/20	It seemed to us that the last day of spring in this completely and wholeheartedly bizarre year of 2020 would be the perfect day to wrap up our Lesbian Springtime look at the wildly divergent ways that different companies approach a distinctly popular niche in our strange little world. You could, of course, choose rather to try and figure out if when you go outside into the world because you must you will be mocked for wearing a mask, or perhaps mocked for not wearing a mask. You could wonder how “a million requests” to attend a campaign rally might possibly result in thousands of unused seats in an event center that holds only 19,000 people when completely packed. These would be Belief Option B folks. … Finally, we know that President Trump deeply loves his giant political rallies stuffed with adoring throngs, and he wants to get those going again ASAP. 6/7/20	Use a machete to whack off a guy’s head, at which point you watch it bounce down the stairs, well, that may be Grimm, but it can be on network television. Spurt too much blood, and you’ll need to be over 17 or with your parents (in the United States) to watch that same scene even in a movie theater, though. Drop a guy off a cliff and watch him splat, shoot him with a cannon ball, or hit him with a train, and that fellow best be animated if you seek a tv audience. Every country has unique rules about even specifically adult material, though, a principle we examine at some length today. 5/14/20	People with demons can make for interesting friends. They make truly horrible life partners, but for the odd weekend away, they can be wildly entertaining. Of course people with demons also make interesting characters for movies, and people with demons who show up for therapy sessions wearing sheer dresses with garters and stockings make for exceptionally interesting movie characters — particularly with both a male doctor and female nurse present for the therapy. 5/5/20	Have you ever tried drinking a nice frosty margarita or sipping truly fine tequila through a face mask? It sucks. Granted, these days we might even be sucking virus into ourselves, but since “they say” you cannot get COVID-19 from eating contaminated food, that part might not be a big risk. Still, you do not exactly want to filter your excellent drinks with just environmental yuk. Combine that with the whole “thou shalt not congregate” admonition in California, and suffice it to say that our annual Cinco de Mayo celebrate got 86’d in a most rude and sad way. We’re trying to make up for the pain with a little Mayo con Dee, Yes! party, which if not quite as festive does have the distinct benefit of being a wicked pun in a foreign language.
