At one point in life we feel like birthdays cannot come quickly enough. Then we spend a good number of years pretty much ignoring them unless we have a significant other from which we might receive special treats. … Then birthdays sort of become different animals which we actively ignore. Well Dee has a birthday today, and apparently she falls somewhere in the transition between those last two because although she did not want attention drawn, she shows no signs of actually turning down 
Talk to any serious fan of a team playing in the Super Bowl, and they will tell that they probably feel as nervous before the game as any of the coaches or players. Sure, we know we have absolutely nothing to do with the outcome, and whatever happens will have absolutely no monetary impact on our lives. It changes the conversations at work in the morning, almost certainly increases the beer consumption in the winning city the night before, but that’s about it. Did you ever have one of those days where you realize that some innocent little thing you did last week suddenly turned into one of those “What the heck just happened?” moments?
