3/30/10	We called this entry about Tenaya “The Heart of Talk and Stroll” — well — because we’re just weird that way. In addition, we will occasionally plug 80’s bands because — well — honestly we have no idea. We can’t figure that one out ourselves most of the time, but it presumably makes somewhat more sense than the Rodney Carrington references you’ll also find in these pages. Nonetheless, when you’re showing a bit of Tenaya’s spectacular private life, nobody’s really going to read the title anyway, chances are. 3/24/10	Apparently they changed a flat tire, saw lots and lots of old friends that happen to make adult movies for a living, and ate fast foot. That would be the seriously abridged version of Lon’s Adult Entertainment Expo experience this year. However, if you have been fortunate enough to become a Member of any of the Risqué Commune avenues, you know how much we hate doing things too quickly when it comes to any adult behavior, so you can once again rest assured that we’ve provided insight and illustration you simply won’t find anywhere else. 3/16/10	Recently it came to our attention that we do not say, “Oh, Bollocks!” nearly enough around the office. Consequently we have resolved to remedy this situation just as quickly as possible. (Technically we had to first resolve to have resolutions on days other than New Year’s, but why get bogged down in details really?) … And speaking of details, Maverick shares a great many of them today in his “Day 2 of the AEE” post on 247AdultStars. Sadly we didn’t actually find any “nonsense” or “rubbish” — which seems to be how dictionary.com defines “bollocks” for us — so we couldn’t use the term in the ever-pithy commentary on those posts from our leader. On the upside, the reference source did say that term often has a “vulgar” connotation, and that should be something we have no trouble working with around here. It’s good to have a plan. 3/6/10	You can find many good reasons to live in Los Angeles, but the colorful people have to be at least near the top of every list. In this economy most big cities will have scroungy-looking people on street corners looking for some money for some reason or another. However, in LA last week we saw a guy with a sign that said, “Need $4.01 for a soy latte.” … Across the street from this fellow was another chap with a sign that said, “Gulf War Veteran. Need a WIFE. Will accept cash.” … You gotta love LA. They could never put the “reality” here on television and have anyone believe it. Speaking of which, we give another dose of our “too strange for prime time” reality with an update on Penny Flame and some “Sanity” advice from Dee. Try wrapping your head around that one. Consequently, we’ll give you a hint: In the first paragraph there is a picture of Dee. This will be the only picture accompanying the article proper. 2/28/10	Maverick and 247AdultStars begin the "official" Adult Entertainment Expo coverage, which makes those of us waiting on the reports from Lon and Steve just a little nervous, quite honestly. If you think about it, one doesn’t need to spend much time writing two or three hundred words, particularly when you’re talking about the contributors around here. Oh well, in typical fashion we’ve decided to panic about that bridge when we suddenly have to cross it, and at least Mav decided to break this mega-event up into four parts. For our part, we’ve decided that only brief editorial comment, supported by a very few quite wonderful pictures of Kristal Summers at home might be just the ticket today. Apparently there’s a big hockey game at the Olympics that people want to watch anyway. At least hockey makes some kind of sense as a sport, we’ll give it that. 2/23/10	Granted most people in the adult business probably don’t look at the Tiger Woods situation the same way as more "regular" folks do. We certainly don’t want to look at it as often, that’s for sure. It seems to us (at least the males) here, that no one has ever asked the question we really all want to know. How the heck can you be that famous and get away with it that many times with that many women? We don’t give one whit about "why" you did it, but if you could just tell us HOW, that would be useful information. 2/21/10	We’re not sure how many of you actually watch the world competitions going on up in Vancouver right now, but we do have a question for any of you that might be more knowledgeable than we seem to be. What kind of a person thinks it’s a wonderful idea to jump on a sled and fly down a winding tube of ice when the first thing that hits something if there’s a problem will be their head? Shouldn’t we all be just naturally wary of a sport called the "Skeleton" anyway? … At any rate, while pondering these more confusing questions, we’re continuing our own Olympic efforts with the Dee at KSEX saga, not only because it stands in marked departure from Mav’s latest entry, but also Dee has really great breasts — which never seem to be covered up by all that necessary winter clothing. 2/19/10	This seems to be the ultimate day for sweethearts, which seems to assume the possibility of bitterhearts, right? … And on a completely unrelated topic (Yeah, right.), we finally got a convention report submitted by one of our certainly dedicated professionals. Curiously it was not the most recent convention, but we’re getting closer, so that has to count for something. 11/15/09	One of the basic tenets around here for the last ten years has been that we should always show the adult industry in its actual light, however dim that may be. After all, only network television routinely scripts “reality” shows, and having a bunch of isolated writers, some making tens of thousands of dollars per episode, set about determining how things “should” be to “look” real has always seemed, well, silly to us. (Yeah, yeah … So maybe TV in general elevated ludicrous to an art form, but that’s another discussion for a different day.) For now, we’re bringing in another of Maverick’s “Cam Shows” — which essentially involve simply putting a video camera on a tripod and pointing it at the beautiful women currently teasing Mav’s still camera. Even though it wouldn’t qualify as a dazzling new incarnation of applied technology, when Cate Harrington provides the talent pool, you don’t really need to over pay people completely inexperienced with the premise to tell us all how it should play out. 11/13/09	Friday the Thirteenth supposedly brings an ominous ambience. We fear. We fret. Or perhaps we happily embrace a “reason” to just stay home and look at porn — whatever works. Much to Lon’s dismay, Steve happens to have been the very first member of the Risqué Commune Sites, before at some point we realized that we needed more help around here and enlisted his assistance. … More to point for today would be the conversation that began about Kristal Summers and her early days, and even more pertinent would be the actual visual evidence we have of that first memorable trip with the crew. 11/6/09	Steve here (AKA SteveD, Just Steve, for today known as “Mav’s Not Here So Let’s Give That Guy All The Work” ), on location from Risqué central. While bemoaning the Broncos first loss of the season, the topic of Julia Ann came up. I don’t remember exactly how, but if you’ve spent any time with us, you know the topic can quickly shift from just about anything to a beautiful woman — and then to that same woman naked. At some point I asked if anyone knew how many tattoos Julia has, which was a trivia question at one of the member’s parties. I didn’t know the answer then, and I still don’t today, but if anyone has a guess, I’d be willing to personally check with Ms. Ann to see if you’re right. … We had to cut Just Steve off here, explaining how we really try diligently not to ramble, at least in the introductory section of a story. 6/30/09	Maverick has won the intra-office race to post the debut report on Erotica LA this year, or at least the opening volley. Our posting queue still seems to be surviving in a bit of a content food processor, though, so as a favor to some of the people working diligently on this side of “the pond” we have created a special page with a not-so-subtle hint as to what’s in store for mid-summer meditation around here. As for Mav, there seems to be a rather prominent theme surrounding British Baked Beans amidst the bevy of porn performers, probably proving once and for all that we’re potentially a bad influence. 6/27/09	Part of the interest in the adult entertainment world comes from the way that even though it can get a bit plodding, just like any job, every once in awhile things just come up in this world, and you have to make adjustments to your original plan. Even forgetting that whole “Man plans. God laughs.” philosophy for the moment, sometimes you really do get a chance to do something just a little different, and so you put whatever plan you used to have on hold for a minute. When such diversions involve Tori Welles, Ginger Lynn, and Christy Canyon, well, that brings up a whole other range of unique aspects to the XXX life. For centuries the prevailing intellectual theory seems to have been that history repeats itself, what with there being “no new things under the sun … yada, yada, yada” — although we will admit that intellectual theory sometimes resembles a lot more the latter than the former. 6/23/09	How long has it been since we’ve had a leader that seems to have some actual grasp of real world knowledge? Now we’d be among the (potentially few) that would say that any successful politician must possess a level of intelligence, but we feel obligated to point out that a substantial chasm separates “smart” from “quick” on the mental scale. Those of you that were able to see President Obama’s press conference today got a chance to see one individual with both cerebral characteristics, and gosh but that’s fun. … Fortunately for all of you, we’ll leave the analysis to the plethora of newscasters that assume we all need the guidance and open instead our coverage of the just completed Erotica Los Angeles convention with our traditional “Two Days in Two Minutes” video presentation, along with a very few editorial ruminations. … All in all, even really, really smart people sometimes aren’t as interesting as a vast collection of scantily-clad women. 6/10/09	Before Maverick set out for his next bit of travel to sunny Southern California he felt it important to polish a bit of 247AdultStars so that it would gleam in his absence as well. He decided that adding a “Dirty Bedroom Solo” of Cate Harrington would be quite the appropriate way to decorate this time around, and having seen the video clips, we really would find it difficult to disagree.
