8/31/14	Apparently, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” It follows as a corollary, however, that Those who make us stronger, then, certainly need slapped a good one, because they might be trying to kill us. We looked it up on the Internet, and you still can’t just go around killing people, but as near as we could tell, simply glaring at them while hoping their favorite sports team losing the next 100 games in a row would be just fine. 8/30/14	Ten years ago this month Georgia Adair did her last professional movie, the end of her custom trilogy from Michael Ninn called Becoming Georgia Adair, Chapter III. At the time we decided to hold off an entire decade before telling this story, naturally having absolutely no realistic expectation that we would still be not only operational, but expanding, when the years had passed. 8/27/14	Anyone who has ever had to memorize the nuances of Strunk and White understands that they could have been a bit more interesting had they chosen a bit more riveting of a subject matter. A study of Elements of Good Sex, for example, would likely have ensured full attendance in every class. Fortunately for us, the ChickaDees break into the writing ranks today, with just such a topic. 8/23/14	Everyone loves sports. (OK. So maybe not everyone loves sports, but all of the sane people do.) Even people that enjoy sports, however, may not enjoy boxing so much, and not even because sometimes one of the contestants gets an ear bitten. Understanding that, though, we still think pretty much everyone will enjoy Topless Boxing, at least when the two opponents happen to be Kristal Summers and Tanya Danielle. 8/8/14	Sometimes we lament the difficulty of our jobs. Technology changes at an amazingly rapid pace, and the entire Risque Commune relies on us to keep abreast (as it were) of the latest gimmicks and gadgets so that everyone’s members have the best possible experience. Standards change. The “average” consumer gear gets increased capabilities without them buying anything new, or doing anything differently. Then we have a couple decades’ worth of experiences to try and correlate with Terabytes of stored “assets” (again, as it were), while every day the cast of characters changes. 8/3/14	There are those that might consider finding a lost masterpiece in their grandparent’s attic a rare occurrence. To celebrate Uncle Gibby’s birthday today, though, we have news of something even more mind-boggling: Somehow he actually found a strip club he had never visited in the entire Great Lakes, Mid-America region. Not really a football fan herself, though — except for the naps she plans for the third quarter of every game — DM somehow miscounted in developing her strategy. 8/26/13	Apparently over in England they have something called the “Late Summer Holiday” which as near as we can tell just means: We couldn’t think of a good reason to take a day off of work, so we’re taking a holiday today anyway Also as you might expect in the “United” Kingdom, the various countries seem to celebrate this holiday on different days. On the upside, since it doesn’t really mean anything, when you celebrate really doesn’t make much difference. Very efficient, that. Now since Maverick lives in London, we decided to celebrate his non-work today, by showing off some of the work he did over here, over yet another holiday, ironically. Any excuse for a holiday works quite well with any excuse for Cytherea and Cheyenne in a tub we figured. We’re clever like that. 8/24/13	Preseason football continues today (at least for the important team), and — much more importantly to some people — so does D.Minion’s exposé on Adam & Eve’s Intimate Encounters 3, on set with Chris King. 8/26/12	Mysteries of the concept of “Lost and Found” bear fruit today, while fully-ripened friends, Jana Cova and Isabella bare … well, other things. Basically we have decided to simply follow ancient advice: Be fruitful and multiply, or at least practice the multiplying part. (OK. 8/18/12	Some things in life we still do not understand. One of the byproducts of the Olympic coverage on television — at least in Southern California — included a massive run of new commercials for Honda. Now we admit that all of us over a certain young age have heard commercials featuring sound tracks that made us just a little sad. Most of us in this office, for example, were just getting used to Steppenwolf hocking insurance when the new Honda advertisements hit the air. As near as we can tell, no one told any of the Honda executives what Judas Priest stood for back in the day. But at least they were a British band, so that maybe counts for something during the London Olympics. 8/13/12	Except for the fact that everyone now has to start getting out of bed “early” again, the risqué commune offices have quite the celebration going on — interestingly beginning immediately after the Closing Ceremonies concluded. 8/6/12	The Brits had quite a resurgence in the Olympic games over the weekend, leading in our case to a bevy of “In your FACE, DM!” sorts of emails traveling across the ocean in this direction. While as a group we obviously enjoy a fine, good-natured competitive ribbing amongst ourselves, we Americans really had to admire how polite the British have turned out to be. Maybe you have not noticed, but instead of their own national anthem, every time a British citizen wins a gold medal they insist upon listening to a heart-warming rendition of My Country ’Tis of Thee. 8/4/12	Most of us have probably heard New Jersey referred to as “The Garden State” — although if you have only flown in and out of there, or seen the state on television, you might have trouble understanding how in the world they ever came up with that motto, seeing as how most people do not associate a peaceful communing with nature and New Jersey. 8/28/11	The best way to test the skills of a person trying to do a new job tends to be comparing the way they do the exact same thing as someone else has done. Like most philosophical principles, however, it tends to be difficult to test, since setting up the “exact” same task can be functionally impossible. Life simply has too many variables. Fortunately for us at risque.com some constants do exist, and we have people who have been around long enough to remember them. We’d never be so boring as to attempt a mere “Apples to Apples” analysis, however. Nope. We much prefer the “Cytherea to Cytherea” algorithm. We’re clever that way. 8/27/11	Occasionally in life you find yourself in a situation where your most sophisticated intellectual response follows generally along the lines of, “Huh. That’s odd. 8/23/11	Be careful what you wish for. And while we’re on the topic of simple advice that people almost never listen to, you might be careful about the examples you’re setting for others in life. Dedicated (or perhaps more Devious) students might take advantage of an opening to provide some teaching of their own — which the teacher will almost certainly ignore, of course. Could it be that Lessons Learned are not in fact like Bridges Burned; or could it be that “learned” doesn’t really mean what we think it means? … It’s a good thing we don’t do philosophy for a living on risque. 8/20/11	Well a warden didn’t throw a party in the county jail — at least not for anyone we know, which doesn’t say much because we don’t actually know anyone in the country jail — so we had to modify the song allusion to “Jailhouse Walk” for our purposes today. If Elvis had not died back in 1977 he would be 76 now, as all of those people remembering the anniversary of his death kept telling us this week. Of course we responded by pointing out that if Duke Albert of Austria hadn’t died on the same date, he’d be 653 today. None of that has anything whatsoever to do with Cytherea or Katja Kean, however, a fact that probably makes members feel a lot better about coming inside. 8/17/11	One of the exceptional benefits of having an intelligent, insightful, and interested Membership base stems from the fact that it tends to keep poor, overworked, webmasters focused on task. Of course, should any web minions make an error, a zealous Member might jump upon the oversight, resulting in general feelings of sadness around the office. Over the years we have found a rapid and complete lapse into Denial to be quite a benefit in the recovery process — even if only in the psychological sense. In addition, a quick ratchet into righteous indignation can be helpful. In this case, alas, the intelligent, insightful, and interested Member might actually be correct, so after hours and hours of anguish and pointed despair, we arrived at a fitting Official Response: “Whoops. Dang.” … Honestly descending into proper angst really takes much more devotion and dedicated attention than we were willing to devote to the project. 8/14/11	Every once in awhile, no matter how long you’ve been doing something professionally, you can still be surprised — at least if you have fun doing what you do for a living.
