| 9/19/21 |  School has started again most everywhere, and after the first week or so we can be certain of one thing absolutely. Whether masks, no masks, happy parents, angry parents, governors stupid or smart, you put young people together for a short amount of time, and Love Letters will begin to flow. Passed amongst friends, slipped into lockers, slid under dorm room doors, whatever, biological imperative trumps — pardon the expression — even heated politics. So we decided to relaunch our full movie Love Letters in honor of the joy of being college students. It was probably in honor of Kristal Summers too, honestly. | 9/4/21 |  Planning has been all but impossible as anyone — well, basically alive and old enough to go outside on their own — can tell you. Back in July we were absolutely certain we’d be trekking to Las Vegas in January for the big AVN convention (the last one?). Then, gosh, this seems pretty hard to explain without getting stuck in the political muck of who’s doing or not doing what that made sailing smoothly into herd immunity a virtual certainty. So without going there, we can admit that we have found ourselves back in the world of virtual meetings, if that tells you anything. So we’re still thinking about the AEE in January, but we’re also thinking about not ending up infected by unwashed masses in an unnaturally cramped room too. (Hey, there’s a lot of drool at a porn convention.) So while we continue to think and see what happens, we thought we would revisit via remaster a particularly memorable trip from a few years ago. | 9/2/21 |  We all enjoy holidays, if not for their underlying reason for existence so much as the fact that most of us do not have to work, even though we still get paid. There are other more personal dates in a year, though, that fall into the “Personal Holiday” category. For whatever reason, when these days roll around annually, it makes us smile, if not necessarily spend a bunch of money on things that make pretty explosions in the nighttime sky. Today would be one of those days for the Risqué Commune actually, even though “work” may not be the most accurate description of what we do around here. As for the millions of not working but still getting paid people out there, well, that ends this weekend. Not to make fun of a genius or anything but trying to make parting less painful by calling it “sweet sorrow” is like trying to ease the impact of amputation by calling it weight loss. Seriously, when you really enjoy something, do you ever really want it to end? Have you ever in your life thought, “Well, by golly, that certainly constitutes enough Dee for the moment?” … Yeah, well neither have any of us and yet 
After careful consideration, the Offices of the Risqué Commune have reached a unanimous decision that we should all become Jewish. Now this has nothing whatsoever to do with religion, or God, or even a preference for unleavened bread. In fact, we do not even know if any of the people from today’s Macbeth episode are Jewish. Nope. It has nothing to do with any of that. … You see, we just found out that Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, which — as we also found out — means that Jewish people are celebrating a New Year already. Since 2020 has colossally sucked on so many levels we cannot begin to enumerate them, we simply decided to convert. So that’s all there is to it. Right? (Oh! If you dig up a buried treasure, does it cease being treasure and become something mundane like really expensive cool stuff or some such? If you have really expensive cool stuff, actually, why would you bury it in the first place? How many of us carry around a spare shovel just in case we might need it during the day? And if you must bury your treasure, why does everyone always put a big ol’ “X” on the map so that everyone knows where the really expensive cool stuff can be found? If you put like a dachshund emoji or something, people might think you odd, but they probably would not be digging for all your valuables. … These are the sorts of thoughts that consume us here at Risqué, y’know while 
If you have ever had to read Stream of Consciousness and then try to explain its brilliance to someone, then you might have some understanding of what work orders before a long weekend can look like around here. If you happen to be one of those people who looks at modern art and cannot for the life of you figure out how one bunch of squiggly lines, or red squares, yellow dots, and blue triangles displays greater talent and keen insight into the human condition than any other, well, you should apply for a job here. You’ll fit right in. 
One might think of many things when mountain hillbillies come to mind. Depending upon your age, the innocent genuine laughter inspired by Jeff Foxworthy’s most famous routine could show up in your memory, or possibly the distinctively darker interpretation from Deliverance.
