The big box stores have been selling Christmas paraphernalia for over a month, so what the heck. Oddly, someone thought it a good idea to get Halloween candy early too, and then made the dubious decision to store it on the counter in the kitchen area. Silly person. | 10/18/23 |  It turns out that today happens to be “Alaska Day” which apparently celebrates the date back in 1867 when Russia formally turned over the territory to the United States. While Russia would not likely give us anything today, even for $7.2 million (nearly $150 million today, so basically the amount Congress doles out when they just don’t want to be bothered), we do love celebrating just the beauty of nature things. Consequently, we revisit Dee and Pre-emergent Tenaya today because not only do they represent natural beauty, but we’re pretty sure we had Baked Alaska with them at least a few times.
