| 1/2/26 |  If we can be totally honest with each other, we would have to admit that oftentimes in life when we get something that sounded truly wonderful, it turns out to be, well, not so great (to put it kindly). On the other hand, when we sort of accidentally get something we had no idea that we wanted, now that might fill a few decades of our lives with joy. Seeing as how this tends to be the time of year for retrospect, and everyone loves learning insider knowledge about things, we decided to combine the two with some Foundations of Risqué — video wall edition — along with our cleverly-named (obviously) Trois Réel observations. We went back and forth a little on the title to give this part five of our Roger “The Vibrator” Rabbit exposé — which to be honest does not technically qualify as an exposé per se, but they do expose a lot, so we figure that counts. “Going Deep“ was the first suggestion, but honestly that seems a bit trite given our subject matter, and it could just as easily apply to almost any scene. Despite best efforts, when you’re dealing with literally thousands of directories in the network system tying together nearly a dozen separate sites, on rare occasions, things can get lost in the bounty. Even with presents aside, as a group we really love this time of year. For a couple of weeks people seem to get just a little bit more kind, a little bit more patient. Of course that could be because somewhere buried in the recesses of our brains we still have that whole “Santa’s Naughty/Nice List” from our early years. Or it could be that even when at work, most people are thinking of all the days off they have coming up, and this makes them much more tolerant of things that might generally annoy them. Sometimes you get curious about a movie simply because of the concept represented in the name, wondering how the producers managed to avoid the myriad of potential pitfalls from both social and legal perspectives. … OK, so sometimes you get curious about that after you have seen a lot of these sorts of movies and have been on literally thousands of movie sets. At that point the whole, “Hey! She’s naked!” thing really doesn’t stop the clock anymore. Not saying whether that constitutes a good thing or a bad one, of course (but probably a bad one). Perhaps between culture, religion, and biology, we have simply over the millennia created a completely impossible situation, a circus of expectations and secretions, if you will.
