2/28/10	Maverick and 247AdultStars begin the "official" Adult Entertainment Expo coverage, which makes those of us waiting on the reports from Lon and Steve just a little nervous, quite honestly. If you think about it, one doesn’t need to spend much time writing two or three hundred words, particularly when you’re talking about the contributors around here. Oh well, in typical fashion we’ve decided to panic about that bridge when we suddenly have to cross it, and at least Mav decided to break this mega-event up into four parts. For our part, we’ve decided that only brief editorial comment, supported by a very few quite wonderful pictures of Kristal Summers at home might be just the ticket today. Apparently there’s a big hockey game at the Olympics that people want to watch anyway. At least hockey makes some kind of sense as a sport, we’ll give it that. 2/23/10	Granted most people in the adult business probably don’t look at the Tiger Woods situation the same way as more "regular" folks do. We certainly don’t want to look at it as often, that’s for sure. It seems to us (at least the males) here, that no one has ever asked the question we really all want to know. How the heck can you be that famous and get away with it that many times with that many women? We don’t give one whit about "why" you did it, but if you could just tell us HOW, that would be useful information. Being (often decidedly) not one of the males here, however, D.Minion brings in her timely (and predictably weird) take on the whole sex addiction scenario. 2/21/10	We’re not sure how many of you actually watch the world competitions going on up in Vancouver right now, but we do have a question for any of you that might be more knowledgeable than we seem to be. What kind of a person thinks it’s a wonderful idea to jump on a sled and fly down a winding tube of ice when the first thing that hits something if there’s a problem will be their head? Shouldn’t we all be just naturally wary of a sport called the "Skeleton" anyway? … At any rate, while pondering these more confusing questions, we’re continuing our own Olympic efforts with the Dee at KSEX saga, not only because it stands in marked departure from Mav’s latest entry, but also Dee has really great breasts — which never seem to be covered up by all that necessary winter clothing. 2/19/10	This seems to be the ultimate day for sweethearts, which seems to assume the possibility of bitterhearts, right? … And on a completely unrelated topic (Yeah, right.), we finally got a convention report submitted by one of our certainly dedicated professionals. Curiously it was not the most recent convention, but we’re getting closer, so that has to count for something. Also, Maverick’s new post does feature a great many U.K. stars, albeit in a more clothed perspective than we’d prefer. … Finally, just as a public apology here, the date on this post was supposed to read "2/14/10" to not only fit in with the introduction above, but also to coincide with Mav’s Two Year Anniversary of 247AdultStars. The person writing the New Stuff part happened to be on time. The rest of us that had to deal with a completely unexpected deluge of material, well, we were tardy. We explain briefly inside. We almost never follow a feature on one lady with another one of the same lady, but if that’s what seems wisest, that’s what one has to do. Consequently, Tori Black is Back (and we’d all love to hit the sack with her, come to think of it). In our own inimitable way, we’ve decided to call the entry, "Recipe for Catchin’ a Tori" — which probably shows why people don’t really line up to imitate us, if you want to know the truth. 9/30/09	You don’t often get the chance to hear how a woman that has made porn her chosen career for a very long time ever wound up at that decision in the first place. Hey, how many porn stars do most people run into around the office, after all? Well, in our final summer tribute to Wendy Divine (or Maya Divine; we’ll pay tribute to pretty much whatever name she’s using, truth be told.) we let everyone in on her story. As the warm days of the year begin to peter out for most of the country, Wendy just seemed like a wonderful focus to us. Maybe that means that parent have a thinly-veiled prejudice against early Fall, but we never really got a chance to consider that much, as the conversation quickly transcended into a raucous enjoyment of the names of celebrities’ children. Rather than bore you with our mundane conclusions, although the elder among us do find it still difficult to top “Dweezil” and “Moon Unit” by the way, we should probably just send you on your way with August — she of the august impression. 9/23/09	Did you know that “solipsistic” means “the theory that only the self exists, or can be proved to exist” (this according to dictionary.com)? Now we’re not at all sure what this means in the context of our little web blog, but we can tell you that having learned this word now we can save you the trouble of reading a rather lengthy and dull British mystery novel, so that’s a bonus. (And rather than simply give you the name of said book, we thought it best to advise you to avoid all British mystery novels written in the last 20 years, just to be safe.) And while we couldn’t find the technical antonym to solipsistic, we can tell you with confidence that the conclusion of Wendy’s diary of her time at Hedonism III in Jamaica would certainly fall into the non-solipsistic category, wherever the existential-minded might find that. For our part, we feel that the best thing about philosophy in general has to be that one can simply disagree in principle without ever really needing to substantively controvert any assumed facts, because that defines a philosophy, after all. … Fortunately, that will be the extent of deep thinking you’ll find evidence of today, unless many, many pictures of Wendy, Inari, and Becca create them for you. 9/22/09	We’ve heard “’tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved before” of course, although having lost a love or two over the years, we can’t really remember this sappy little saying every making us feel much better at the time. Even in the decidedly less romantic environment of adult entertainment, it’s always really sad when you lose your first girl, a lesson Dear Maverick laments today. To his credit, however, Mav seems to have been able to steadfastly muddle forth, unlike D.Minion, who always lapses into vast chasms of despondency whenever one of the risqué ladies moves along to other paths. “They’re all the ‘first girl’ in some respect,” DM explains. “Yeah, but now we have another major headache we don’t have to worry about,” we generally counter, “Don’t let that pesky silver lining get in the way of your cloud or anything.” … D.Minion sometimes doesn’t think we’re funny, by the way. 9/20/09	Although certainly valuable in theory, too much absorption in retrospect can lead fairly quickly to a rather maudlin view of current conditions if we forget to take some care with our memories. On the other hand, that particular philosophy doesn’t seem to apply if you’ve spent that last 20 years hanging out with porn stars. This period was known as the Dark Ages.” And today we get to try and empathize with Wendy about the brutal schedule for a professional model on a tropical island. 8/31/09	This weekend we learned that “nothing is impossible when you have scaffolding” – which honestly has nothing whatsoever to do with traveling with porn stars, ostensibly the topic for today. On the other hand, it does seem like an interesting life philosophy, and those can come in handy. 8/16/09	Big cities certainly have their appeal, but there really is nothing like local news in a small town. Why just last night we learned that officials have authorized air support for fighting all the fires currently blazing in California “24-hours a day, during daylight hours” . You just can’t make this stuff up. And why are we mentioning this? Well, because we start off with classic Polish Literature today, meander through people disguised as oversized rodents, and then end up with adult stars happily seducing camera operators. 8/13/09	Vicca has a birthday today, and in her honor we decided to continue our celebration of Uncle Gibby’s birthday with New Anais Avenues. Well, to be 100% accurate here, Gibby has been having trouble with our new javascript system for displaying the photos, and Maverick thought it would be “wonderfully cruel” to put even more Anais material up that poor Gibby wishes he could see on his Mac. … Now if any of the rest of you seem to be having the same problem (The screen darkens, but nothing else happens when you click on a picture.), we would appreciate you letting D.Minion know. So far we’ve been unable to duplicate the problem on any operating system or browser we can find, and we can find a lot of them, actually. 8/11/09	Double, double, toil, no trouble … . And if you’re acquainted with the Bard, then you can see how one little change can really throw the whole meaning out of whack. On the upside, we did keep the meter the same, and that should count for something. … OK. So it probably doesn’t count for much, since one syllable substitutions are pretty easy, but hanging out with Dee while she’s naked certainly counts for a great deal, and sharing the day with you for even more, we’d think. 8/9/09	Traditionally one thinks of birthdays as happy occasions. Being a fan of happy occasions, then, we decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth date of our new old friend, Uncle Gibby. OK, so as a purely technical matter we’re not sure how many times now His Gibbness has celebrated this same 50th birthday, but we definitely missed the real 50th one, so we decided to just go with that. Besides, it seems a safe bet that he didn’t have Anais and Chasey Lain to help him with the original one, so we’re thinking he won’t really mind. Also, he decided to share this bit of good fortune with everyone, which demonstrates just a bit of his sterling character, and he’s not even British. It’s good to know people that know people. 8/1/09	This has been an unusual summer in that we’ve had the unanticipated pleasure of working with a very talented 19-yr-old intern, although in honesty we do spend a good bit of our time telling him he’s not allowed to make fun of his elders as he’s explaining his current geek endeavors. We also have learned that Sirius Radio has a Hip-Hop station. Who knew? On the upside we’re a lot more comfortable with music for “young people” than we used to be as one of the songs we seem to hear a lot has the title, Wetter, and includes an oft’ repeating line of, “Will you be my daddy?” … Clearly listening to songs about lonely orphans in Seattle can’t be bad for one, right? … Have any sense of how crazy today may be in the Members’ Area yet?
