This would also explain why you might suddenly see dozens of “hospital” or “creepy mountain cabin” movies all coming out at once as well. We have often theorized that there exist only 3-4 true sitcom writers in Hollywood, and they all go to lunch together, so a large number of shows will all be talking about the same thing suddenly, but in the adult movie world we have many “writers” but only 3-4 really good art directors, so we end up more “environment” bound rather than plot. … Of course you probably care mostly about the cool airplane set used in Passenger 69 today and could not care less about our theories on Hollywood creativity bottlenecks.
