Although we update the members’ side of the site almost every day, we generally don’t list the index out here in the tour until after the month has concluded. One has to make decisions about time in one’s life, after all.

You see, there was a time when Summer of Chantelle rolled out over a few glorious months during the hottest time of year in the Northern Hemisphere. Now Maverick did not ask specifically that we repeat this raucous fun in a similar time-frame, but he’s British, and they’re altogether too polite, as we know. Still, in a manner of homage to our Dear Friend, we plan on doing just that. As a beginning, we can let you know that the previous AEE with Chantelle (celebrated in our Summer of Chantelle) was such a wonderful event that one of our eldest members has never again returned to a convention. You can sum up the logic quickly, but honestly it may take a lifetime to be at peace with it. First, no matter who wins an election, fairly nearly half the population will believe that the world will soon be coming to an end. Second, no amount of whining, or yelling, or bemoaning, or even protesting will make the other side go, “Oops! Our bad. We’ll change now. You’re right.“ … Nope. Only one thing will make it so the other side will be sad next time: VOTING.
