Both sides always think the other misguided and lacking in the prioritization proper for whatever issues seem important at the time. However, this time about 50% of the people think the other 50% of the people are completely certifiably wackadoodle. (Sorry if we got overly technical there.) Then here we are four days later, and we still do not know if we are happy or sad, again, regardless of which side of the Trump fence you picnic. So we decided to highlight the discombobulation with a much smaller scale issue in Bluebird’s Macbeth, Act 2. While obviously holding vastly more importance on a global scale, the electoral process does suffer from a distinct lack of nudity. So we win! It turns out there may be some global medical situation impacting the core everyday lives of every human — at least the ones living in developed nations. Granted, the U.S. President obviously lives in a myriagon world (a polygon with 10,000 sides) because that would be the only way we can explain even being close to “turning a corner” on anything here in America. Politics aside, though, these extended times at home have made telephonic visits with old friends even more special. In our case we get to share more than many, which we decided to do today. Of course this year you will likely not have small costumed characters wandering the streets begging for candy, so you might not technically need to buy any to give out. Not to make fun of a genius or anything but trying to make parting less painful by calling it “sweet sorrow” is like trying to ease the impact of amputation by calling it weight loss. Now this has nothing whatsoever to do with religion, or God, or even a preference for unleavened bread. In fact, we do not even know if any of the people from today’s Macbeth episode are Jewish. Nope. It has nothing to do with any of that. … You see, we just found out that Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, which — as we also found out — means that Jewish people are celebrating a New Year already. Since 2020 has colossally sucked on so many levels we cannot begin to enumerate them, we simply decided to convert. So that’s all there is to it. Right? (Oh! If you have really expensive cool stuff, actually, why would you bury it in the first place? How many of us carry around a spare shovel just in case we might need it during the day? And if you must bury your treasure, why does everyone always put a big ol’ “X” on the map so that everyone knows where the really expensive cool stuff can be found? If you have ever had to read Stream of Consciousness and then try to explain its brilliance to someone, then you might have some understanding of what work orders before a long weekend can look like around here. If you happen to be one of those people who looks at modern art and cannot for the life of you figure out how one bunch of squiggly lines, or red squares, yellow dots, and blue triangles displays greater talent and keen insight into the human condition than any other, well, you should apply for a job here. Lay out the actual truth of modern society today. Outline in just the most general terms how our elected leaders are acting in their supposed roles of protectors of citizenry. Then hand the notes to any publisher, movie or television producer, or even the head content creator for a major podcast or YouTube presence.
