You can even argue that the genre as a whole does a poor job even as educational value because it promulgates vastly unrealistic expectations in everything from “mating rituals” — so to speak — to body image. … Of course you can argue against all of those things too. … What you cannot argue, however, would be that the individuals in these movies do not share many of the same basic human characteristics as the rest of us.
