1/30/12	Years ago now, our dear friend SteveH decided to move back to his home town of Bumfuck, Missouri to chase some woman — although we cannot swear to this being the exact name of the town, honestly. Still, it did give us a chance to finally stop using “SteveD” to indicate the Other Steve in the office, as we progressed quickly through “Just Steve” to simply “Steve” when we refered to him. … And then the Original Steve decided to come out and visit us for the show this year, creating the Steve Confusion all over again. On the other hand, it did give all of us the chance to talk about “that woman” whom Original Steve eventually caught out in Missouri. Then we got to oft repeat one of our favorite adages: “Be careful what you wish for … .” What are friends for, after all? 1/26/11	We recently learned from The Big Bang that you call a person that studies flags a vexillologist. This of course would not be the same “Big Bang Theory” that arrived to all of us courtesy of Georges Lemaître, but all in all the television series is a whole lot funnier. We can see how Fundamentalist Christians might be offended by both, however. Of course neither of these things have anything whatsoever to do with Becca, or Kristal Summers, or Kira, or Wendy … but we did want to mention them, because honestly how often do you see an adult web site admitting they understand anything at all about Fundamentalist Christians? 1/16/12	Some people would argue that a “business” should not even exist that essentially bases its success on naked people. Apparently when these folks left the Garden of Eden they quickly bid it, “Good Riddance!” and took off with a whole tree’s worth of fig leaves for themselves. Of course some people also believe that if “their team” fumbled the ball at an inopportune time over the weekend, the world might indeed end — or at least be no better than a really depressing place for a few months. … You just can’t please some people. What can you do? … Well in our case, on the eve of our annual trek to the AEE in Vegas, we decided this year to take a moment to reflect upon the upstart in the industry, this of course being XBIZ. At first glance, the new approach seems quite a bit different from the older one, but then AVN has an entirely new plan this year as well, so we will see. 1/15/12	Unless you happen to be a fan of one of the four teams that will remain in the championship race in the NFL after today, you might find a common thought running through your brain incessantly: What to do? 1/11/12	One of the best things about attending the annual AVN convention in Las Vegas has to be that you get a chance to see a lot of friends in the business that you may not have run across on set in a few months. Given that this year’s event has all the indications of being a massive … well, we won’t say because we happen to like the AVN people a lot — but think “massive amounts of copulation in a tightly bunched group” — we plan on having a lot to talk about with them as we all sit around waiting for the organization to catch up with us. All in all, we’re going to have a good time regardless, and honestly the regular conversations with Jenna Haze always rank highly on our good memories list. 9/13/11	Gloom has befallen fully half of the NFL fans as of very late last night, or very early this morning, depending upon where you call home. For example, we can see how the theory applies to the freedoms celebrated in America on July 4^th, even if many of us face $2,000 fines should we seek to create our own Rocket’s Red Glare instead of simply enjoying those of the government-sponsored variety. Perhaps most of all, however, Freedom (with a capital “F” don’t you know) allows us to voice introspection and illustrate our points with beautiful naked women. 6/25/11	If you spend some of your free time reading, you’ll occasionally run across some wonderful quotes. For example, John D. MacDonald wrote, “Life is the process of finding out, too late, everything that should have been obvious to you at the time.” Now the fine author penned this pithy observation in The Only Girl in the Game, but to be fair, we actually discovered it as the introduction in Paul Levine’s Slashback. After such a literary introduction of our own, you might think that we’d be on an intellectual quest today, perhaps explicating a poem by John Donne and dealing with a rather different form of conceit than the adult industry usually provides, this of the metaphysical sort. … Naw. We’re just letting D.Minion rant about how she hates to miss things and remembering fondly the first time we got to see Cytherea’s new boobs. … We all enjoy life’s callings a little differently. 6/23/11	To be quite honest, one of our favorite aspects of working on this site for over a decade has to be that we simply don’t need to make stories up. While we do rather enjoy reading fiction, the dedication and attention to detail that it requires to actually write it really doesn’t interest us much. Around here it works much more like a typical “editorial” job in an old fashioned journalistic setting. Of course we would maintain that our particular subject matter tends to keep one’s general interest more than, for example, local politics, or even the local football team. Come to think of it, probably all the NFL players are looking at risque.com every single day while they wait for the lockout to end. That makes sense, right? 6/20/11	Most of us have probably heard the saying “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry” – or some sort of variation on that translation. Many of us, however, might be surprised to learn that the quote does not come from the book Of Mice and Men, but rather comes from a really old poem by Robert Burns, which inspired the name of the aforementioned book. Sadly neither Mr. Burns, or the excellent author John Steinbeck ever got a chance to photograph Cytherea taking a bath, and we feel sorry for them. As for the members, you can look up the poem if you want, but looking at Cytherea would probably be a lot more fun. 6/17/11	At its essence life comes down to a matter of perspective. You can approach it with emotions ranging from calm benevolence to malevolent ire, but in the end we’re all going to end up in the same place. No matter how rich you happen to be, no matter how many friends you have on facebook, the final chapter will read the same for each of us. 6/2/11	Should you be reading this historically, you won’t notice any difference, but those looking at it currently certainly will. As almost all of you know by now, for the last week or so we (along with millions of others in cyberland) have been under attack by an admittedly quite smart, but altogether nefarious character nonetheless. For the first time in our history we actually got “cracked” and have been frantically dealing with the aftermath for some time now. Finding the leak, as it were, is nothing compared to repairing all the damage done, if you want to know the truth. We’ve got it all locked down again now, better than ever ironically enough, and we’ve got a bunch of stuff backed up in the queue which we’ll rebuild quickly. We’ll catch up. We always do.
