11/28/13	Wow. For the first time in a really long time a major religious celebration falls on Thanksgiving. Of course the fact that we had to call a friend in order to get the spelling correct for “Chanukah” might indicate that some of us failed the religious fervor standard this week. On the other hand, we do understand that this means at least a good percentage of the Brits will be celebrating with us today, and for some reason they don’t usually do that on Thanksgiving. 11/12/13	Eight times as many people will get married today as one could normally expect, simply because of the whole 11-12-13 thing. This would make it easier to remember one’s anniversary, probably, but considering the divorce rate these dates, perhaps a countdown symmetry would seem more appropriate. Interestingly enough, no matter which way we count around here, we still come up with a bevy of sexually adventurous women. 9/23/13	When a good friend suffers a loss — even if you happen to think it’s completely ridiculous, because it’s only a game, and your friend wasn’t even playing the game personally — you do what you can to remind them of happier times. 9/14/13	Well we survived another Friday the 13th again, although truth be told when the dude in charge goes by the name “Lucky” those tend to be sort of party days around here anyway. On the upside, since it doesn’t really mean anything, when you celebrate really doesn’t make much difference. Very efficient, that. 12/31/11	As near as we can tell, today happens to be New Year’s eve, and most places around the world happen to celebrate the new year with substantially more vigor and glee than they do any of those gift-giving holidays. Of course the vast majority of the world has at least a culture, but often an entire political system, that stems in no small degree from religious persecution, so maybe that makes sense. After all, it seems very wise to focus more on a day of the year you won’t get shot for celebrating, right? For our part, we have decided to stick to our roots as well. What they lack in historic violence and upheaval, they more than make up for in fun and nudity. This doesn’t set the bar very high, we understand, but as a rule we tend to prefer simple goals. (You members may have noticed.) And if D.Minion happens to discover our camouflaged secret, well, we plan on employing the exact same New Year’s Resolution we enjoy every year: Blame Maverick for everything.
