11/30/07	There has been a very long debate over the difference between Art and Pornography, and in our little world perhaps the best explanation we’ve ever heard came from Gloria Leonard quoting someone (she sort of forgot to mention exactly whom, as we recall) that “The difference between art and pornography is the lighting.” … Well, politics aside, that works for us, although some would probably consider us not the best barometer of the topic, since we clearly have no problem with either. … With that in mind, then we’ll offer up some of the new talent around the office here and their “artistic” interpretations of the female nude. And since the female happens to be Shayla LaVeaux we certainly have no problem with that either. 11/25/07	We apparently have some A.J. Bailey fans hanging around here, or perhaps they just really, really like libraries. Whatever the case they set us upon a trail to find a bit more … um … interactive exercise from the budding archival scientist. What with the odd inclination of some people NOT to watch American football on television, or better yet attend a game personally, it seemed like a pleasant diversion featuring A.J. and Hillary Scott might be a bit more up their alley – so to speak. 11/22/07	So we had to go to Arizona to get some materials on a story about London. … Hey, we keep telling you truth is stranger than fiction. … Anyway, we decided to employ a few of the images in our typically heartfelt, empathetic, and divinely warm holiday greeting. … That seemed reasonable, seeing as how the rest of the employees seem to think they deserve the day off. Instead of thinking of obtaining some foreign workers around here, though, we’ll just wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and blame all of the wackiness on D.Minion and Bijou being in a hurry to get to the food. 11/19/07	At any time in the day (these days) you’ll almost certainly be able to find a television announcer using the preface “At the end of the day …” for whatever pithy commentary they’re trying to espouse. Now we’re not sure when this happened; we’re not sure how it happened; we’re not even sure why it happened. We do think it’s interesting that no one seems to be much interested in “the beginning of the day” anymore – which probably just underscores the over-emphasis on results and not effort in modern society, at least it seems to us. … What have they done for us lately? … Right? … Toward that goal, then, we’ve decided not to wait on our “Fearless” (although most of us around here use “Frazzled” as the acceptable “F” term) Leader to continue the hopefully fascinating look at Women in Porn. Instead, we thought we’d look at a woman in porn, she being the Maverick discovery Suzie Best. In response to questioning, Maverick did indicate that he has BTS video with Ms. Best, and then we can wax philosophical anew. Until then we’ll just appreciate Suzie at the end of the day … or at the first of the day … or pretty much anytime we figure. 11/17/07	Hmm. Well we got distracted from our regularly scheduled discussion of the various types of women that decide to get into the porn business by … well … some of those types. 11/11/07	We know you probably don’t have much time today, what with needing to get busy rooting for your favorite NFL team to either win (because you believe they can actually make it to the Super Bowl) or lose (because you’ve seen the Patriots play and you might as well line things up for next year’s draft now). Unfortunately for all of us that see the Big Picture and just wish to fold our hand for the year, all those folks that currently work for the team this year still want to have a job next year, and so they keep trying to win. … Creeps. … So we’ll appreciate a little half-time entertainment courtesy of Kristal Summers and Jassie, and we’ll lament all those people that confuse “what’s good for the team” with “what’s good for the team that still keeps paying me.” Something’s in the details, but maybe we don’t remember what correctly. 11/7/07	You know what happens when British Citizens fall in love? Well in A Fish Called Wanda John Cleese ended up with Jamie Lee Curtis, so this probably isn’t as good as that ending – probably. Still, when British Porno Citizens fall in love you get to see a whole lot more gratuitous nudity than you can with your basic Jamie Lee movie. Now we’re not entirely certain that this explains what has happened, but it’s as good a reason as we can figure for the all out Give it our (Suzie) Best season we seem to be entering. 11/5/07	Presumably when you think of “Ghetto” the word “Fabulous” isn’t the first thing that pops into your mind. Of course, you’re likely not looking at it through the eyes of Michael Ninn, and you’re probably not adequately taking in the references to Elvis Presley and Donny Osmond. It’s another one of those weird days with D.Minion on Set, can you tell? And of course there’s the very cleverly disguised BONUS material you can uncover today, as if the 160+ pictures and unique video moments weren’t enough. … OK. It’s really not all that cleverly disguised, since it’s basically a link that says “Bonus” on it, but you still have to look for it, and that will hopefully distract you from some of the anticipated oddness. 11/2/07	D.Minion has a dilemma that she needs your help with. For some reason (and this would be another one of those issues it’s best not to ask too many questions about) she almost religiously reads Diane Mott Davidson’s mystery series about a caterer in Boulder, Colorado that keeps finding herself in the middle of murder investigations. OK. So we pretty much consider these story lines credible to the same extent that we believe all of the stories in Penthouse Forum, but DM seems to like them – almost certainly because of the presence of more than a few canine characters in the tales. … Well, apparently in a recent novel, Ms. Davidson introduced a stray named “Latte” that apparently inexplicably disappeared in the following book. So if any of you have any idea how the stray happened to stray again and could let D.Minion know, she might be able to ease her psychic pain a bit. (Although don’t try making jokes about it just going out for coffee. We tried that. … About some things our fine Minion has very little sense of humor.) For our part we asked Nurse Kristal, and then she got completely out of the nurse costume during her Cam Show Video. … And then we forgot the question. Hey, it worked for us. 10/28/07	We learn about money and naked British women today. Or maybe we just read about the process of Maverick coordinating a photo shoot for naked women utilizing almost no money. … Or (and this would be the more likely option, truth be told) we just look at a bunch of naked pictures of Kaz B and Masie and we pretty much ignore everything else. 10/25/07	Relationships are tricky animals. And relationships in the porn industry can be downright treacherous. Of course that doesn’t keep them from happening, and thus nothing keeps us from talking about them. We actually open with a brief reality check as we’re poised on the regular American Political Proving Ground, and eventually we even transition into some heretofore not publicly known intrigue involving Juli Ashton’s Night Calls, her original cohort, Doria Rone, and Playboy TV’s foray into the “Let’s Make a Movie About Our Series” business. Not to give too much away, and we’ll tell you right up front that we haven’t honestly seen the necessary sales or income reports required to be absolutely sure, but we’re thinking that The Simpsons Movie probably made more money. We don’t really have that many people working around here and everyone seems to be in the middle of one of those “Mega-Posts” that take a lot of time and organization. Consequently, if we ever make it through the queue, we’re quite certain you’ll be fascinated and intrigued … or maybe just entertained. We can live with either. Until then, we’ve taken a moment to appreciate Dee’s breasts, which if you’ve ever wondered turns out to be a dandy way to motivate people in the workplace. 6/30/07	It may seem hard to believe, but we always read and (mostly) listen to the member emails that come in. Now we can’t say we always follow the “advice” since some of the “suggestions” seem to be physically impossible, but some of them are actually nice, and those we tend to pay attention to. We also like giving friends a semi-public chance to “vent” when life has given them lemons … or marshmellow bunnies, or something … and so we’re able to accomplish two goals very early in the process today. We get to see a lot of “Dee Behind the Scenes” changing clothes and generally being adorable and we get to learn some history that involves many, many naked women. All in all, with this much accomplished before nine o’clock in the morning, we’d better go spend some quality time with the dogs. 6/17/07	We’re off to a geek convention so that we might learn new and improved ways to be confused in our everyday efforts, and then we’re staying down for the Erotica LA Convention next Weekend. Now as we understand it, one should make a practice of being kind to strangers, and so that’s what we’re doing in this particular mega-venture to entertain you in our absence. While Maverick doesn’t qualify as someone we don’t know obviously, we can assure you with absolute certainty that he is indeed stranger than most people you’ll ever meet. Lamenting his failure to arrange a visit to correspond with our upcoming parade with porn stars, he … let’s say, unhappily … pointed out that we never made time to publish his … let’s say unique … adventures at the AEE last January. So we’ve made the (considerable) effort to do that. Without providing too much editorial comment at this early juncture, let us just point out that you could read 1,000 words and look at 100 pictures on each of the seven days covering our little trip here, and you’d still have four more pictures to go – along with Heaven knows how many words. Did you know it’s really hard to fit the phrase “iambic pentameter” into iambic pentameter without using those pesky triplet things? Gosh, the stuff you learn on a porn site …. 1/24/07	Here’s a shirt you can’t wear just everywhere: “ASS. The New Vagina.” … This and other observations come through today in the first “Dear Readers Speak” in a couple of years it seems like. Sometimes the uninitiated are so darned cute. And sometimes they’re a bit painful in their honesty. It’s interesting how “regular” people look at an event like the AVN Awards Show, and it’s equally interesting (although certainly quite a bit more odd) how many pictures our own “three amigos” seemed to take of each other. Fortunately they at least had the courtesy to include various fetching women in the photographs too. In the midst of “plowing through” we seem to have wandered down a diversion. We love that. 1/20/07	We’re taking baby steps here, not so much because of the Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss movie but because that seemed like a reasonable way to start our assault on the current queue. Consequently we decided to open with a nice little D.Minion story about getting ready for the AVN Awards show this year … with Heather Vuur, Audrey Hollander, Faith Leon, Monica Mayhem, Ruby Flame, Lorraine Sisco, and of course Dee and Kristal. There were some boys there too, but who really notices them with this cast of females? We did read a wonderfully pithy quote in a Lawrence Block book that would fit right in here. Speaking of a particularly attractive female character Mr. Block described her as sending off “a subliminal message that said, Sleep with me and you will die. But it will be worth it.” If you haven’t read the Bernie Rhodenbarr “Burglar” series by Lawrence Block, by the way, you’re missing out on some very funny and entertaining times. While you’re checking Amazon, though, you might look at these pictures and Mav’s video. That’s a fine way to spend some time too. 1/15/07	Hey, we lived through it! (Of course “lived” would be a relative term here.) You know what’s a really bad idea? Reading a Steven King (technically Richard Bachman, though) book about a grueling and ultimately fatal competition whose only characteristic happens to be that it involves lots and lots of walking, precisely while you’re attending a convention that also necessarily involves lots and lots of walking. This is a bad idea. While we’re valiantly trying to make some semblance of order of the 2,000+ pictures, a couple hours of video, multiple audio files, and more autographs then we’ve even begun to count, we thought we’d share a little joy that can come from a virus. Hey, weirdness begets weirdness, and if the Risqué site doesn’t prove that theory for you, then you haven’t really been paying attention. On the upside, we’ve recently had many opportunities to use an almost forgotten phrase, “My dogs are barkin’ now.” And if you know what that means, while you may not be a Redneck yourself, you certainly know at least one. 1/8/07	You knew, of course, that we would not be allowed to leave the LA area and head for Las Vegas before we had accomplished DM’s task of adding the Essentially Juli AND Shayla Double-DVD to the catalogue, right? Well, we did that, and then we set up some things to keep you occupied for the next week as we converge (from many points of the world, truth be told) on the annual Adult Entertainment Expo for the next week. Consider it a bonus for today, and then consider coming with us next year. You really haven’t lived until you’ve seen some drunk and crying XXX performer, devastated because she didn’t win the “Best Anal Sex Scene” Award. What a surreal world in which we exist. 1/6/07	Guess what follows “Day One” of something, and even sometimes only a few days later. Correct. … “Day Two” …. So we really needn’t even give you much of a build up here, because certainly you’ve already committed Day One on the Set (of Facade) with D.Minion to memory and all that has been keeping you from sleeping is wondering what in the world happened on the dialogue day of the movie. Well, you can in fact read about that today, but you’ll have to wade through all the sex scenes with Mika Tan, Daisy Marie, and Alexis Love in order to find this crucial information. 1/3/07	We learned a fun fact about the entertainment industry today. The cost of shooting ONE episode of the formerly famous TV show, Maimi Vice, actually cost more money than the budget for the entire YEAR of Miami’s actual Vice Squad. Hmm. … Well, nobody said that the entertainment industry makes sense, and so we quickly gloss over our bit of insight into that and look at some pictures of beautiful Dee, gracing the shores of Jamaica. 1/1/07	It occurred to us that peering into a Facade might be a dandy way to start the New Year, considering the business we’re in and all. We didn’t really give that enough thought considering all the football on TV today though, as even just Day One on the Set with D.Minion turned out to be one of those “thousands of words and 225 pictures” sort of DM days. Ah, well we technically made it as a New Year’s Day post anyway, assuming you happen to live in the Pacific Time Zone at least. Some times you just need to channel some old country songs as you go through life. Those of you that remember Bobby Bare will understand this: “[We] got ‘er, boy, and that’s what makes [us] THE WINNER.” Whew ….
