6/30/05	You know what? We haven’t been talking about Dee enough. For awhile we just thought these uncomfortable feelings were just from the long hours at Ninn Worx, or trying to get a deep understanding of really sexy subjects like “video compression techniques” or something. We even gave the “must have had some bad seafood” theory a brief visit, but then we realized that unless it comes wrapped in paper, we haven’t eaten it lately. Then we saw Dee at LA Erotica and we realized the obvious truth of the matter: We haven’t been talking about Dee enough. You know, you can spend time with your head buried in codec geekdom, on machines that cost many thousands of dollars, and you still miss the simple stuff. 6/27/05	Conventions and Events pretty much describe the modern working world in America. No matter what you do for a living, there’s almost certainly a convention somewhere (every year) that brings all of you like-minded people together … probably to talk amongst yourselves about how hideous it is to try to do what you do for a living. … well … We have those also. And we also have those Events that really, really want to be in this “essential” catagory, so that they might make a bunch of money off of all of us too. Consider LA Erotica. Now the people that attend this paticular convention are much more interesting than the folks that pay money to display their wares, as it were, but it’s still a rather fun place to hang out for a bit. This year it cost $30 per person, per day, and that probably makes some accountant happy somewhere. We just went for the pretty girls. Sometimes simple is best. We’re really trying to get into the wedding spirit here, by the way. We have something old, something new, something borrowed … but, darn it, we just can’t be blue about it. 6/17/05	It seemed appropriate that we end our first “Official Juli Ashton Week” as we began it — with a D.Minion recap of Night Calls, this time from May of 2005. Not only does it bring us up to date on Juli’s wonderful television program, but it also serves on the eve of a special day for a very special friend. Some of you may know that a couple of Memorial Days back Playboy TV once played nothing but Juli Ashton and Essentially Juli for 24 hours straight. Now you tell me anyone else in the history of adult entertainment that can say that a network has done that for them, and then we can go ahead and discuss vague concepts like “influence” and Fame. 6/10/05	We’ve been thinking a lot about this “special week” coming up, so we decided to spend a little time with our friend. 3/31/05	Kristal creates some Hard Evidence today, as it were, as we have an unusual story with a lot more words than pictures. Still, sometimes that’s how life turns out, and quite honestly it doesn’t take very many pictures of Kristal Summers to reach awe-inspiring status, truth be told. So we tell a few truths; we look at Kristal not meaning to show off, and we thankfully don’t have to warn people about many, many pictures of food establishments and restaurant menus. 3/28/05	A lot of times on a porn site you wouldn’t follow “We found our motel” with the concluding part of the sentence today, “and headed off to the Helium monument.” Right? Well “A long time ago …” (Someone should really write a book with that beginning.) D.Minion met Dee in Amarillo, Texas, and then they travelled across the Great American Desert to get to Los Angeles. At least the “Bonus” section has some interesting interaction, but, basically, this post can be summed up if we tell you what this thumbnail says. “You can’t run with the big dogs if you pee like a puppy.” We have a very odd office. 3/26/05	For some reason people get really afraid of daring punctuation. Maybe primary school English teachers sign some secret oath that mandates that they frighten all young students against anything that isn’t a period or a question mark. Teachers that teach the advancing students can then introduce the comma to the budding minds, but after that the door slams shut …. See? Whatever happened to the good ol’ ellipse? What’s wrong with ALL CAPS to stress a point? And God forbid, on this Easter weekend, that a parenthetical comment ever rear its confusing head. (If you don’t know what that means, you should just skip to the 180 pictures from Ninn Worx’ Pussy Kat now, by the way.) Well, today we flunk English 101. 3/24/05	As it turns out we’ve fallen behind on the Night Calls stories and D.Minion goes a little Kindergarten Teacher on us when that happens. Remember the crossed arms and the tapping foot pose? Well, even though we’ve lived on this planet for more than four DECADES, that particular stance still stikes fear into our very soul. Being the regular manly men that we are, though, we immediately rolled over so D.Minion could scratch our cowardly bellies. And then we posted the next Night Calls story as though nothing ever went astray. 3/8/05	You know, one of the hard things about writing is that very often things need to rhyme to flow smoothly off of the tongue, or brain, or whatever. So I’m trying to recount my adventures when I should have been at home watching the dogs and D.Minion’s parents, but instead I find myself (and my bummed-up leg) on a porn set observing the creation of a movie called Purple Skye … Yes. Truth is stranger than fiction. So, anyway, I have now found myself trying to think of a rhyme for “purple” … um … which ranks right up there with “orange” … Then I remarkably decide to just “show dem da money” — at which point all rhymes become superfluous. I really edit much better than I write, but at least we won’t have that “Clown Porn” picture haunting us at the top of the page anymore. One should give thanks for small favors. 1/31/05	We don’t know quite how to describe Mav’s MEGA Report on Internext, the AEE, and the AVN Awards show except to say it’s BIG. It’s really, really BIG. There are well over 300 pictures and 7,000 words. Heck, we had to build the mother of all index pages, just to try to help people figure out where they are in the story when they come back to it. Let’s put it this way, from within the story and picture pages there are FORTY THREE individual links back to the index page. You’re going to need a lot of beer for this one, folks. Lots of pretty girls, though, and Lon becomes a Hip Hop artist. 1/13/05	“Seventy-Six trombones led the big parade,” as I understand it. So that means that today’s post is better than a big parade, as it has 77 more pictures of the 2004 KSEX Awards show, this time taken by Foreign Correspondent Maverick. Now we need to explain three things. 1. We’re making no attempt to draw any correlation between trombones and photographs of partying porn stars, rather leaving to future generations of literary students an attempt to try to decipher what deep and tortured reasonings led us to this strange juxtaposition. 2. A simple fact of corporate America rejoices in giving someone a grand-sounding title like “Foreign Correspondent” rather than actual money, and 3. 2/29/04	It seems like that on a rare day such as “Leap Year’s Day” we should celebrate something even more rare. 2/28/04	A Risqué Mexican Holiday surfaces today, serving a dual function of distracting many from really bad local weather and fascinating the erudite among us with historic trivia. OK, we actually do name them, but you’re going to have to deal with the words to find out who they are, unless you can tell from this angle. 2/26/04	It’s officially less than a week away from the return of Night Calls from its long hiatus. If you look carefully, you can see that “hiatus” is not really all that far from “Hate Us,” and if you ask most Juli Ashton and Tiffany Granath fans they’d consider those words synonyms for sure. Add in the fact that a scheduling conflict kept D.Minion from the first January show, and then you can sort of explain why Night Calls, January 21, 2004 runs about … oh … TWICE AS LONG as one of D.Minion’s usual stories. Still, it’s Juli and the gang, and we’ll likely forgive them their abscence as we usually do. 2/12/04	Since we’re upon the Valentine’s Day Weekend we thought to ourselves, “Hey, what could be more appropriate than D.Minion’s coverage of Wendy in Wicked’s Sex and Romance?” Make sense so far? So we’ve got Wendy Divine and Eric Masterson having torrid sex on a table, where Jessica Drake happens to be lunching, apparently oblivious, although it sounds like she snuck a little play in there secretly. Fair enough. Why then, we must ask D.Minion, was the only photo in the set, taken at the highest resolution and highest frame size (an unusual setting for us), the photo below? 2/10/04	The lead-in to the local Los Angeles evening news the other night teased with, “Today the Mars Rover took its first microscopic pictures of a nearby rock.” Most of the really good copy writers around here wanted to immediately quit and get a job with “The Southland’s #1 News” if that was the best they could come up with. That really has nothing to do with another episode of D.Minion’s coverage of Dee and the Fat Men on KSEX radio, but we promised to give these wonderful people public credit so they wouldn’t run off and join the Legitimate Press. Bleh. And even though we’re in the middle of the next Innocence shoot for Ninn Worx, Dee finished an Ultimate Pictures movie and continues her twice-weekly Nooner Naughtiness, Kristal Summers continues to line up several more boys to bonk for bucks, Anais shot (yet again) for Suze Randall, and both Georgia Adair and Angel Cassidy are busy putting together budgets and shooting schedules (and those pesky contracts) for each of their respective personal lines (also for Ninn Worx) … even though all of that was taking place, we still managed to buy pizza for everyone for lunch. We think geeks like pizza better than praise. We also think we’ve probably stalled enough. Enjoy! Rarely can one both show Yin and Yang, Black and White, The Raiders and The Broncos … Today we have such a chance, and we don’t even care if the groundhog saw his shadow.
