7/27/05	Oh, boy … Now we’ve done it. For those of you that aren’t members of both sites, Michael (over at MichaelNinn.com obviously) recently wanted us to try putting D.Minion stories about his shoots over on his site too. Now we’ve always put them here if they inolved anyone we know and love, but a silly as it sounds Mr. Ninn sometimes does shoots that don’t include any Risqué women. I know. Crazy, huh? Anyway he loved the way it looked and the response it got, so now he wants us to do them for EVERY Ninn Worx shoot. Now it may not seem like it, but it’s a lot of work to post these stories the way we do, and since The Risqué Clan represents the major focus around here, we came up with a plan. We agreed to the task on the condition that y’all could see the “other” Ninn shoot stories too, and Michael agreed (happily, we might add). So today you get to see Porn Star which, although not technically starring anyone from our group, the movie does rather heavily relay on some personalities you may be very familiar with. That’s all we’ll say. We don’t mind helping Michael, but we’re still going to be nice about it. 7/25/05	One would think that working in the XXX Industry would be a fairly good job. Now we should probably dispell some myths here before we even get started, so “bare” [sic, we know] with us as we try not to ruin too many fantasies. … Hmm … This might be too large of a topic for a “New Stuff” lead-in, so let’s just go with the Bigee Myth: Women in the Porn Industry don’t actually have sex with anyone, anywhere, at the drop of a hat, or even trousers. OK. That’s over with. Actually this works exactly like most jobs. Everything gets old if you do it often enough. Honestly, the technical production of your favorite Adult Fare, probably wasn’t nearly as romantic as you might imagine. Put in more understandable terms, if you’re married it’s not that your spouse has “lost something” nearly so much as it is that you’re just really, really used to it. So don’t feel bad. (Do something about it, but don’t just sit around feeling bad.) More on point for the rest of us, as to today’s purposes we’ve called our wonderfully illustrated insights “Down in the Dolldrums” [still sic, we know]. Oh, and to cover that first point, “one would think that working in the XXX Industry would be a fairly good job.” One would still be right. 7/21/05	What do you know, Night Calls has a new Tramp. (D.Minion’s going to kill me for that joke.) Actually before the next episode, we’re posting the behind the scenes on the last episode, which makes this the earliest we’ve been late all month. 7/20/05	This photograph would be of Anais, as the knowledgeable among you have probably figured out already. Now doesn’t she look like she’s waiting for some type of explanation? Oddly enough it may not be the type of explanation you’re expecting, as we’re really mostly showing off Michele Morgan, Inari Vachs, and Evan Stone today, even as we’re talking about something else entirely. 7/17/05	Y’all know about “Sneaky Pete?” … Well hopefully Michael doesn’t either, or if he does, hopefully he doesn’t read about him here. And if he does read about him here, hopefully he won’t read so far as to be able to make some Fragile connections. And if he does make those connections …. Well, this seems to be reaching a complicated structure rather quickly, don’t you think? How about this: Look at some really beautiful and talented people, but don’t tell anybody about it. 7/13/05	Well we assume that figuring out what went wrong should make us feel better, but basically it just means that we have a lot of “fixing” to do. Sigh. Still, the first lost story that surfaced from technical oblivion happened to be D.Minion’s account of the same Innocence shoot that Lon had an account of … sort of. There were a couple of shoots going on at the same time, and DM (this time around) only accounted for ONE of the two while still managing to get in 280 pictures and over 6,000 words. This is one of those many, many words posts, y’all, so prepare yourselves while we go look for some more of what we lost. Don’t worry too much though: We’re only looking for lost stories. We gave up looking for our minds some time ago. Call this D.Minion’s take on “Innocence and Slutty Innocence.” Oh, and there was a tie in the voting for the thumbnail to include here, so we just used them both. 7/11/05	Hmm. Despite today’s date, we haven’t found very much “convenient” over the past weekend. Internal strife is never so annoying as when it has external ramifications. Fortunately, that’s all the philosophy for today. 7/7/05	Sometimes Lon just says it best. He had a chance to visit one of Michael’s sets a while back, and he had a camera with him (imagine that). Now we’re really not certain about what exposure methods this particular camera utilized, but there are naked girls in the pictures, so we assume Lon had some plan in mind. We do know that Long giggled a lot after this particular trip, but we really should stop talking about this now. We wouldn’t want to Wax Lon, Wax Off, after all. Lon does a bunch of that himself. 5/28/05	It’s Memorial Day Weekend, as most of the US folks know, and we’re celebrating. True, most Americans likely can’t even remember what we’re supposed to be memorializing (as anyone that’s ever seen “Jaywalking” on The Tonight Show can attest), but a very few people might recall that some people have spent millions of dollars, and some rather more important people have died, giving us the chance to carve our little free niche in the world. So grill some beef. Eat some hotdogs. Play frisbee with your dog. … And try not to be too upset with the fact that banks are closed on Monday. At least most of you don’t have to go to work, after all. Oh, and if you’ve got the time, you might check out D.Minion’s Risqué Retrospective. Nobody died, and not even any animals were harmed, in this little synopsis of time. But, gee, ain’t it funny how time slips away? 5/27/05	The Porn Industry hasn’t quite figured out the deceptively important concept of picking a title with care. We tend to name things with what they ARE, rather than what they’re ABOUT. Of course many would say that’s simply because the adult “movies” are exactly what they are about, but those people are still wearing trenchcoats and looking for cheap thrills from a hole in the wall if you ask me. Fortunately, no one asks me much, and so I can spend my time enjoying Dee Directing once again. Also, I don’t blame her for the title. You can now enjoy her too. 5/25/05	Over the years we’ve come to understand that it’s always preferable to wake up with a beautiful woman. Sometimes it’s even nice to wake up with three beautiful women, and if those women happen to be Juli Ashton, Julia Ann, and Becca … well, you’re obviously still asleep because you’re dreaming. Still we’re big on vicarious existence around here so you might as well sit back and enjoy something we (very cleverly, we might add) call Sybian Rivalry … OK. Maybe we’re still sleeping too. 5/20/05	So you meet a new person, and you’re still in the getting to know each other stage, right? Well somebody new on the Risqué periphery was describing a friend of hers. “She’s a real Right-Winger,” says the strange new person (who gets stranger by the minute sometimes), “but she’s a closet liberal, because she has gay friends, and even a Jewish one.” Good Grief: One step forward. Two steps back. Eeek! … Aside from the patently offensive implications here, we also saw a dandy opportunity to introduce Night Calls from March of 2005, since we love irony in all of its many forms. You see, this particular Night Calls episode, besides featuring the usual Juli Ashton and Tiffany Granath raucousness, had a group of beautiful female boxers as their guests, and if I ever knew two women that needed a punch in the mouth … well, you just heard from them on the periphery. 5/16/05	“Sometimes it’s sweetness and light here in Porn Valley, but sometimes things don’t work out exactly as planned. Here’s the story of a movie shoot, The Dinner Party 3, for Ultimate, directed by Nicholas Steele, that didn’t quite work out as planned.” That’s the introduction that D.Minion wrote for this story. 5/13/05	I got fired from my job last week, and I was pretty upset about it. 6/30/05	You know what? We haven’t been talking about Dee enough. For awhile we just thought these uncomfortable feelings were just from the long hours at Ninn Worx, or trying to get a deep understanding of really sexy subjects like “video compression techniques” or something. We even gave the “must have had some bad seafood” theory a brief visit, but then we realized that unless it comes wrapped in paper, we haven’t eaten it lately. Then we saw Dee at LA Erotica and we realized the obvious truth of the matter: We haven’t been talking about Dee enough. You know, you can spend time with your head buried in codec geekdom, on machines that cost many thousands of dollars, and you still miss the simple stuff. 6/27/05	Conventions and Events pretty much describe the modern working world in America. No matter what you do for a living, there’s almost certainly a convention somewhere (every year) that brings all of you like-minded people together … probably to talk amongst yourselves about how hideous it is to try to do what you do for a living. … well … We have those also. And we also have those Events that really, really want to be in this “essential” catagory, so that they might make a bunch of money off of all of us too. Consider LA Erotica. Now the people that attend this paticular convention are much more interesting than the folks that pay money to display their wares, as it were, but it’s still a rather fun place to hang out for a bit. This year it cost $30 per person, per day, and that probably makes some accountant happy somewhere. We just went for the pretty girls. Sometimes simple is best. Not only does it bring us up to date on Juli’s wonderful television program, but it also serves on the eve of a special day for a very special friend. Some of you may know that a couple of Memorial Days back Playboy TV once played nothing but Juli Ashton and Essentially Juli for 24 hours straight. Now you tell me anyone else in the history of adult entertainment that can say that a network has done that for them, and then we can go ahead and discuss vague concepts like “influence” and Fame. 4/30/05	We counted 17 separate references to old television theme songs in D.Minion’s story of Carol’s visit to Southern California. We’d actually worry about our sanity, but we’re much too crazy for this kind of deep introspection. Fortunately, the 125 photos from Michael Ninn (who didn’t even meet Carol, by the way) can make up for a lot of blatent silliness. 4/29/05	We get to visit with a bunch of old friends today, and D.Minion’s got 180 pictures and some 3,000-odd words to prove it. She was on the set of The Devinn Lane Show, Part 3: Attack of the Divas a couple of years back, and she got to spend some time with Julia Ann, Dee, Lola and Devinn. (D.Minion should pay us for this job.) By the way, we should state for the record here that, although we haven’t always agreed with her “career” decisions, Devinn Lane has always been beautiful, innovative, daring, and extremely motivated. In short, Devinn Lane is a very good director. She also happens to be wearing one of my favortie shirts during this shoot. “I can only be nice to one person a day. Today is not your day. 4/25/05	All of us at the office blame Carol for the lateness of the latest Ninn Worx Weekend. Michael didn’t get to meet Carol, since she “allegedly” spent her time in Southern California on the beach and eating home-cooked meals, and not on the Sybian. Both Carol and Michael are very polite people. … So we don’t have any pictures or either Carol or Michael on the Sybian, but we do have some really dandy images that will hopefully distract you from that point. 4/20/05	Pretty much every day, everyone pretty much has to do something. So today we pretty much figured we’d just spend some time looking at Wanda Curtis. All in all, in our experience, this turns out to be pretty much of a fun thing to do, and so we’re encouraging you to do it too. I don’t know if any of you ever had the opportunity to see Wanda in person, but she looks like a drawing or something. When artists draw their idealized visions of the perfect female form, they generally look like Wanda, actually. If Barbie Dolls had a human incarnation, they would look like Wanda too. 4/17/05	… [DMinion wrote this. It’s not my fault.] “From Nightingale poop to human foreskin.” According to a TV show I just watched, these are some of the things people put on their faces to keep them looking young and beautiful. Anais looks beautiful without any of these, uh, interesting concoctions. (I should know. I’ve seen her without makeup and she’s stunning. It just isn’t fair.) 4/15/05	In the movie business, a “side” is a small part of the script that the director intends to record on a particular day. Generally, when the “players” show up in their really groovy (or at least ego-gratifying) trailer room, some nameless person will have placed the sides in the room — most often directly upon the only horizontal seating area in said ego-gratifying room. The point, here, being that sometimes things don’t always turn out the way they “historically” should. In our ongoing efforts to convince Juli to release some of her “owned, albeit heretofore hidden,” footage of Essentially Inari, we’re providing a peek into the past lives of, not only Inari Vachs, but Dee, Kristal Summers, a very happily endowed man, a couple of genuinely nice women from Juli’s past, and even Juli herself. We call it “Old Irony-Sides” … but we’re like that. We would also like to point out that using words like “albeit” and “heretofore” should be at least a misdemeanor in any civilized country. 4/10/05	OK. Technically it may be a little late for a Ninn Worx Weekend, but, also technically, it’s still the weekend for three more minutes in LA as we’re posting this. Besides, some days “It’s all about the Porn Star, baby.” … and what’s a little tardiness when those are your options? 4/8/05	Well we’re still plowing through Tax Hell, which wouldn’t be as bad if you didn’t have to do it every year, we’re thinking. And as it turns out, although it really, really sucks to move with a broken leg right before Christmas, it’s even worse if you didn’t think about putting all of the various tax document areas from the office and warehouse in one box so you could find it easily when you needed it. (I don’t know why they were always in various places; that was not my job.) So we decided to make up for it with a Night Calls post from Juli and Tiffany’s February Show this year. This one turned out to be extra long, as it included the soon to be more famous Justine, along with a side trip to a Dee dance gig. We decided, “What the heck, let’s put a bunch of exclusive pictures of Anais up too. What, you want to spend more time on the Quicken Category and Transfer List?” Too many numbers in your life make you talk to yourself, you know. 4/2/05	For some reason we’re very concerned about The Learning Channel (and yesterday was April Fool’s Day). We don’t really know how to explain it better than that, other than point out that Bob Seger will be happy, and we do have the benefit of 80 (plus) pictures of Dee thinking of … probably anything but The Learning Channel. Sometimes it’s very strange in California … but it often involves beautiful naked women, and that makes up for a lot. Cheers, D.Minion.
