9/30/12	Oh, dear. 9/27/12	We can explain the American fascination with the NFL in a fairly simple way: For just a little bit of time in one’s complicated and frustrating life, it becomes perfectly acceptable to scream and yell like this world will end if the referee fails to call pass interference on some play in a game. It can be very cathartic, really, at least until the national press gets involved. A presumably relatively educated chap on Good Morning America today did refer to the circumstances surrounding a blown call last Monday as a night “that will live in infamy” during his report that we will now have the regular refs to scream at once again. … Um … That might be a bit extreme. Still, we manage to tie together Cytherea’s birthday and the Oakland Raiders this time out, which we consider a much more reasonable use of the football pastime. 9/25/12	All things considered it seems like our mothers should celebrate the anniversary of our births a lot more than the mere offspring should do. Right? She’s the one that did all the work, after all. If anything the individual kids should probably hide from that day as much as possible, because after that whole “come out of the womb” thing life sure got a lot tougher. Now in Maverick’s case although he claims to be particularly not celebrating this birthday, at least he has chosen to avoid thinking about it by employing a particularly American tactic: He is tormenting his friends with the beautiful women in his life. … OK. We all exist as an amalgamation of our life experiences, and as such we make observations necessarily influenced by that history. 9/16/12	The football fans take weekends off this time of year, as apparently colleges play all through Saturday, and some frighteningly powerful group called the NFL takes over life on Sundays. Sadly for those folks, they will be late for their date “Smokin’ Bree” — while the rest of us get to enjoy the soft, warm and tasty treat right on time. Even those of us not dedicated to the “pigskin” (or even its name, truth be told) do not find it odd that the NFL has begun to take over Thursdays too this year, to go along with the Monday nights it has always held sway over. No. We do find quite unusual, however, how many “football fans” we have in the office that never follow a team at all until it means they get weekends off. Very curious. 9/13/12	You know how you can just be going through your normal life, and all of the sudden you will find yourself thinking about someone you haven’t seen in quite awhile? 9/12/12	A mom and pop retail establishment we visited in Los Angeles this week had one of those hand-crafted signs taped to the wall above the cash register. It said, “Due to the declining California economy, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.” That said, since no one here ever made $40/hour to put on lug nuts in an assembly line, perhaps we see the future more optimistically than some people. 9/9/12	Most of the time we spend 90% of our time working on new material for the Members’ Side, and about 10% of our time organizing files and being sure the databases stay up to date so we can keep posting well into the future (when we would have probably forgotten all about the story behind the photos or videos if we did not complete this step). Obviously it does not take much of a math whiz to figure out that this equation leaves very little room for working on the “Free Side” of risqué. Every once in awhile, though, we will give the topic at least cursory consideration, most often with interesting — if not wholeheartedly amusing — results. 9/5/12	Conventions have a certain amount of similarity and overlap no matter where they happen to be held. … OK, so we attended a plumbing supplies convention once for some odd reason, and it was a bit different, and when we went to the Venus Show in Berlin they were playing hard core movies up on a giant screen when you went in, but those serve as exceptions that prove the rule. Between us we have been to hundreds of conventions, and those two stand out as unique in our minds. Now when Uncle Gibby goes to a convention with his video camera, though, you just never know what you may discover. Come to think of it, maybe there were a lot more unique moments at conventions, but we simply forgot. The mind is the first to go, you know. 7/30/12	Maintaining our Risqué ne’er say intrepid reporter philosophy, our keen operatives managed to catch up with the Queen after she had parachuted into Olympic Stadium. Arriving with James Bond in time for the Opening Ceremonies. we can report the Queen “shaken, but not stirred” — just in case you were curious. … OK. So we made that up, we didn’t really see the Queen, and overall the word “intrepid” fits many more of us than it does not. 5/23/12	Regardless of one’s level of education, we all seem to be susceptible to the devilish “grass is greener” trap. 5/18/12	Today happens to be all about Shayla LaVeaux, which honestly would make any day a darned special occasion. Everyone loves Shayla, to tell you the truth, mostly because she’s kind, considerate of the feelings of others, and even after all these years in the industry still goes out and puts “fun” first in everything she does. Of course the fact that she’s sexy as all get out doesn’t hurt anything either. Life being what it is, though, somehow all of us people that love Shayla don’t get treated exactly the same way as some of the people that Shayla loves back. 5/14/12	Having gotten quite confused over the weekend with what we had as a plan to introduce Cytherea’s site wishes, we came into work this morning to the greetings of all those annoying “stickler for a schedule” types pointing out that we sort of forgot to put up what we were supposed to. Fortunately, a healthy dose of humor goes a long way in these parts, so we managed to sneak by with our illustration from yesterday, if we promised to put up the “other” Cytherea post today. 5/13/12	We celebrate “Mom” today, even as the rest of the country does the same thing. Granted, as a general rule we probably celebrate the process in which women become moms a bit more than does the average person, but as difficult as it may be to believe for the politically conservative out there, we have mothers too. 5/10/12	Today we’re doing something a little different, which considering our usual method of operation probably provides no practical clues as to our intent at all. Even we couldn’t remember the last time we did something “normal” when we tried to think about it. That said, we have never used this particular approach before. You see, our leader actually wrote an article for the FREE SIDE of risqué, and then we adapted that document to the MEMBERS’ SIDE of our world. Members may not even realize it, because why would you ever go back to the Free Side, after all, but we (sporadically) run “web safe” stories out there with the hopes of finding new folks that might enjoy our approach in here. Of course they are rarely truly “topical” — often running years after they appeared in the Members’ Area — but we spend the vast majority of our time taking care of Members, so this approach has always seemed logical to us. This time, we got instructions to flip that approach completely around. We have no idea why, but however odd we may be, we also have a decidedly prudent streak. We do what the boss says. 5/7/12	We always celebrate Cinco de Mayo in this office, either because we’re extraordinarily culturally aware, or we just love dark-skinned women. That could be it too. Of course it could also be that for whatever reason we all really love very spicy Mexican food. But that could be simply because initial interviews are always done at a local “Cantina” and anybody that wimps out over the chile verde never gets hired. Our own “El Jefe” disputes that last claim, but interestingly that’s not quite the same thing as denying it. … Now this year the holiday came on a Saturday, and what with all the work we’ve been doing on the new catalogue, in a rare turn of events every one of us had the weekend off. Fortunately we suffered no digital disasters in our absence, but we did miss the celebration. Consequently we’re celebrating Siete de Mayo this year. Tequila makes one quite adaptable, after all. 5/1/12	So if you spend a few hundred words trying to explain just how well you can be brief, well, that sort of seems to miss the point, right? If, however, a lovely lass such as Shayla LaVeaux makes the request, you certainly try your darnedest to accommodate her. We may not have done an exemplary job per se, but if you look at it honestly we nonetheless feel rather fine about the issue.
