7/30/10	Just for the record, if you ever get a new friend in Los Angeles, she should own a ranch in the hills. We happened to be at two such places over the last few days, one of them drinking margaritas, and one of them not drinking margaritas because we just had to bring by our donation for the Pet Rescue Center before getting the heck out of Dodge – because we didn’t want to be stuck late drinking margaritas again. When Pour Me Another Tequila Sheila starts sounding like one of the greatest songs ever written, you should really call it a night. 7/24/10	Did you know that déjà vu has an opposite partner called jamais vu? It means feeling like you’re seeing something that should be familiar for the very first time. Well, Felicity lends us her photographic talents today, and even after having been present on literally thousands of adult movie sets, we found ourselves amazed. People might be surprised to learn that a great many very talented people populate this industry, and not all of them work in front of the camera. 7/22/10	To some extent we find ourselves without guidance today as the head guru dude is off working with Cytherea to help get the rest of the elements in line for the launch of her new site, and D.Minion is (we swear) off attending the General Hospital Annual Convention in Los Angeles. Obviously the first decision we understand completely, and the second one baffles us completely. At any rate we have been left to “complete” Maverick’s latest 247AdultStars entry today, and we have done so with our completely typical aplomb. Basically, we complete you. … Nice, isn’t it? 7/18/10	None of us here could find a definitive answer regarding how old a person has to be before they can become an existential, but it does seem like you should probably be older than your typical new porn star. Of course some would argue that women that choose making adult movies as a vocation must by definition hold at least some existential concepts dear, even if they don’t perceive them as such. Others would argue that expressing one’s sexuality openly and without shame indicates rather a strong moral compass and a dedication to individual empowerment. … Then there are those of us that would argue that there’s altogether too much arguing in life already, and so we should really just stop arguing and enjoy the unusual people, like Erica McLean and Megan (“not that one” ) Foxx, that populate the planet. … Also, everyone should have dogs. 7/14/10	Feast or Famine. That’s what they say, right? Well, whoever “they” happen to be, “they” certainly hit the nail on the head this time around. All of the sudden everybody here has so many independent projects going on that we actually have a temporary written sheet to help keep track of them all. And computer geeks don’t like writing; that’s a fact. Still according to the Aged Ones in charge writing is actually faster and more efficient sometimes. (Yeah, right.) On the other hand, the crush has given one of the newer team members a chance to do a little investigation of Dee, along with Kinzie Kenner and Yasmine Milan. How bad can that be? As a matter of fact, also according to the Aged Ones, if we let people play with Dee stories once in awhile, they don’t whine nearly as much about workload. Even computer geeks agree with that. 7/9/10	This has all the markings of an interesting few days coming up, as we’re headed into downtown to help Cytherea with her next web content shoot, and then we plan on visiting our first ever “Exxxotica Los Angeles” convention. Usually we go to “Erotica Los Angeles” which would obviously be a completely different gathering (as you can tell by the completely different name), but AVN decided not to have “Erotica” this year (not that they really told anyone or anything, but we’re not bitter). Then we’re going to be on set for a couple of days with Erica McLean where presumably we will learn that on occasion pigs do indeed fly. Cytherea has chimed in further to help everyone pass the time in our absence with a blast from her past we’ve entitled “A Cy and a Thigh High Sigh” – simply because we’re weird that way. And if you’re familiar with Cytherea at all, you understand completely that we use the term “blast” here in a literal sense. The Geeks will be here doing their Geek Things, though, and after perusing today’s commentary, you’ll likely understand a bit more – and be quite happy doing so. [FEATURED TAGS: Cytherea Video]
7/6/10	Just to be sure we get everyone mentioned, because they do bop all over this “socializing” story here, it was (in order of Marty’s Photo Page Appearance) Nicki Hunter, Jenna Haze, Sara Sloane, Misty Stone, Belladonna, Bobbi Star, Kirsten Price, Savanna Samson, Joanna Angel, and one bodaciously cute Production Assistant named Mandie hanging around on this day, but Tori Black, Kayden Kross and Kagney Lynn Karter didn’t get there until very late, so we have to save them for the next installment. Of course we still have plenty to cover (or uncover) today, so we’re not overly sad. Also, if you’re a Member here you know how much extra credit counts, so you might think about boning up on Kenny Rogers trivia and Greek Mythology. That’s probably not the type of “boning up” you expected here, right? 7/2/10	The current favorite for the Local LA Area Bumper Sticker contest we keep perpetually in motion around here reads, “Where am I going, and why am I in this hand basket?” Now you shouldn’t read too much into the fact that we’re talking a bit about AVN today, and if you do read something into it anyway, we can assure you that we plan on denying everything. As a matter of fact, that turns out to be a pretty good plan for life in general. Feel free to try it yourself. If nothing else, it annoys the dickens out of most people, and that’s always fun. 7/27/09	Apparently over there in London an “ISP” doesn’t seem to involve anything that actually looks like “Service” – at least if Maverick’s experiences lately has been any indication. Consequently, the poor lad has been chomping at the bit to get 247AdultStars updated, and we’ve … well, we’ve sort of been laughing hysterically at what an actual business can get away with in the U.K. But he’s back up and running, some three weeks after “they couldn’t find a problem” (Don’t you love that?) and we have agreed to at least stop laughing at him until we see more of Syren Sexton. 7/20/09	Sometimes you simply need to do things for fun. Let’s face it: In 100 years, we’ll all be dead. Consequently, our leaders (more accurately: those that have been around here the longest) set out this past week to track down Tenaya. Hey, if you’re going to do fun things, they might as well involve a Penthouse Pet if you can work that into the equation. So as you pop on inside and see what we discovered, you can be prepared to smile with the lass once again … and you can also be glad we decided against using our first inclination of the “stop and smell the roses” approach here. Even a Penthouse Pet might have some olfactory issues with that particular metaphor, considering we found her way out in the California desert. 7/16/09	We’ve more on our We Love Julia Ann month today, which it occurs to us that people out here in the free section may not even know has started. Those people have a sad life, really, so we need to be kind to them. If you ever get really depressed with your own life, just look around a bit and consider what some others have to be dealing with. For example, some people live up in the “frozen tundra” like Uncle Gibby – on purpose. All in all, a regular interaction with bodacious babes seem preferable, even when you only get to visit. 7/11/09	One would think that writing on a day indicated by 7-11 would require at least passing consideration of “convenience” in some fashion or another. Sometimes you should just let people do what they do, and concentrate instead on doing what you do, and everthing will work out just fine. 7/9/09	Dear Maverick finishes up his Slanted by (Lexi) Love review of the big Los Angeles convention this year, which turned out to have the distinct advantage of taking place a couple of weeks before Michael Jackson decided to die. Otherwise, parking down at the convention center would have been a real pain, and we’d have ended up walking as much as if Lon would have been in charge. Still it is always sad when people leave this plain, and as great a talent as Michael Jackson undoubtedly was, we still mostly feel sorry for Farrah Fawcett. She spent the bulk of her career struggling to get top billing, and the poor thing didn’t even get it when she died. God has a wicked sense of humor sometimes. 7/31/08	Did you ever do anything really dumb just because a good friend wanted you to? Yeah, well, this doesn’t exactly qualify as jumping off a cliff, or climbing up and painting the town water tower or anything, but we’re still putting up a story today that in good conscience we must simply encourage all of you not to read. For some undoubtedly deeply psychological reason, D.Minion has decided that we’re really all quite interested in a couple of aging domestic animals, and she has gone so far as to provide pictures (to our great shame). That said, we always make it easy for you to skip down to the bottom of an entry just by hitting the little camera icon at the top of the page, and you should definitely do that today. Once there you’ll find that we did manage to sneak in a bit of lesbian shower fun with Taren Steele and Juli Ashton — and there’s not a household pet in site. 7/20/08	Apparently, there has been grumbling among the ranks. Allegedly the senior member of the “team” here has been absent altogether too much as of late, causing the whiners to commence with their harmony. So the senior team member chips in today (with the aid of D.Minion who ranks third on that list, by the way) just to show the whipper-snappers how one should create a proper risqué post. What’s five videos, 130+ pictures, and some 5,400 words between friends, after all. We learn a bit about “Nymphos” and we learn a bit about “Lords of Porn” and those of us in the office learn that the boss eats all the Skittles when he’s here. 7/9/08	You’d think we’d learn. Every time we put up a “D.Minion at a convention” story we’re amazed at the amount of quirky information she manages to uncover — even when she tries to “tame” her approach. Then, naturally, as we go through the process of adding our minutiae (which sometimes turns out not to be all that “minute” if you want to be technical about it) the posts seem to take on a life of their own — typically a very weird life. … Well, you’ll be happy (or maybe sad) to know that we’ve done it again with Erotica LA, 2008. If you do nothing else in life, at least you should try to be consistent, we think. Consistently good occasionally happens as a bonus, but we always strive for that. It’s good to have a plan. 7/1/08	Reading a book the other day we realized that we don’t say “various and sundry” enough around here, particularly when you realize that this phrase pretty much sums up our lives. So we’re down shooting some more content and we stop for lunch. As we pull in to the lot for our favorite Valley-Local “Burger, Hot Dog, Chinese Food” joint, we notice a new bus stop bench out front advertising a “Topless Truck Wash” . Now presumably they don’t wash only topless trucks, but that’s still not overly odd. It’s LA, after all. Then we pop into a restroom inside and notice an expression of the quickly dying graffiti art written on the wall above the urinal. “Fuck the bitch, Suzie” it said, and it gave the anticipated phone number. Now other than obviously being less elegant than the traditional “For a good time” approach it didn’t really capture our attention until we read the last line reading, “Recommended by Ed.” … Don’t you just love style? Fortunately today we’re discussing neither men’s rooms nor Chinese restaurants that serve hot dogs. Instead we’ve unleashed even more “Dee on KSEX” entries, these being specifically from June 3rd and June 10th – of 2004. 7/31/07	Sometimes you just need to look at something from a different perspective to recognize the obvious. Of course usually the new “angle” on everything also brings its own myriad of confusion, but if you try to boil it down to its essence, the situation often becomes more clear. Then you can add in a little scientific analysis and that might help, and you might even consider a dash of philosophy or even a metaphysical conceit or two if you’re really brave. Very soon everything will just look even more complicated than it was before started trying to look at it clearly and so you just wing it and hope for the best. That’s what we do. 7/23/07	We’ve been working madly way behind the scenes here, and there’s a big announcement on the horizon. Oddly enough, it’s not nearly as distant a horizon as many we’ve foretold around here, so that’s nice. Maverick’s also chiming in today about what he’s going to be doing, which doesn’t help all that much, but he’s also got an exclusive “view” (and we mean that literally) of a famous British porn star named Sandie. Odd, but we still think of the Olivia Newton John character in Grease when we hear that name. … Hmm. We probably shouldn’t admit that, right? … Oh, and incidentally, we have no idea why Maverick takes pictures of upside down naked women, and we really didn’t want to ask. 7/16/07	What could be better than “Dee Penetrated” you may wonder. Well, apparently it could be Dee Exposed, because … well, you’ll have to read about it if you really care. Dee herself didn’t seem to mind whatever title we used, as she was just along for the ride … so to speak. Another thing that’s really, really good is a fresh bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich when the bacon is hot and thick-sliced, and the tomatoes are vine-ripened, but honestly we can only give you D.Minion’s account of our Delectable Dee today. 7/7/07	Well, we made it through the post, but it was a weird one. Of course we can say that almost all of the time, so maybe that doesn’t mean much. Still, not all of the posts are about Erotica Los Angeles, 2007 so that’s one difference. And at first blush while all of these conventions seem pretty much the same (especially to those of us that have been to 50+ of them) they all have their own … um … uniqueness, let’s call it. Of course there seemed to be surprisingly little blushing on the show floor this year, well except from Lon and D.Minion while they were smothered on a bed by Julia Ann’s breasts right in the middle of the crowd on Saturday. 7/5/07	We’re putting on an “Innocent” front today, at least while we’re putting the final touches on the Lon/D.Minion story of Erotica LA this year. We haven’t heard from his doctors but last we saw Lon he was still gasping from rolling around on the bed with Julia Ann – which seems perfectly understandable if you think about it. So you can take a moment to ponder how this might have come about in the first place, and then you can try to figure out how these two words go together Innocence: Rebel. We figure it’s only in the world of Michael Ninn, but that’s always an OK place to be, so we’re just going to go with it. We’ve seen the pictures, though, and while “rebellious” might come to mind, we didn’t get many “innocent” vibes here. Naturally, of course, we consider this to be a very good thing.
