6/30/10	You know how comfortable old friends can be? When they happen to look like Shayla LaVeaux, and they happen to have Shayla’s decided openness about nudity in general, well, they make darn good house guests too. Of course Shayla happens to be much more than a pretty face, and she has some dandy ideas about excellent travel arrangements, as we learn today. She’s even gotten into the spirit of our liaison with our British bud Maverick, although we’d be willing to bet she’s going to win the flirting contest with pretty much anyone named “Lexi” that you’re likely to run across. 6/26/10	Oops! We’ve mentioned this before, but we really hold to the opinion that you should never let the boss at your place of employment actually do any important work. It’s just going to get messed up, either because they haven’t done this particular task for years, or (in a technology field like ours) they may well have never known how to do it in the first place. Consequently we’re putting up the picture set courtesy of Michael Ninn’s wonderful skills at still photography today, that actually should have gone with the story a couple of days ago. We suppose it’s nice that somebody noticed, and we do appreciate all those (occasionally annoying) “silver lining” people around here, but for their benefit, we felt obliged to close with this little bit of wisdom we’ve acquired over the years: When you wake up seemingly stuck in life’s same ol’ thing circle, you should never forget that not everyone who shows up is there to help you. 6/24/10	Here’s something we learned this week: Hockey introduced the first testicular guard, the Cup, in 1874. The first helmet showed up in use in 1974. Consequently, this means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. That kind of adds a little perspective to evolution, doesn’t it? Speaking of evolution, that concept as it pertains to the personal relationships of porn stars actually mirrors the lives of the rest of us mere mortals more than you might think. Theoretically we’re continuing our analysis of the issue, this time benefited by “The Janas – Jordan and Cova” – not so much because they’re vital to the illustration as because they’re just really darned beautiful. 6/20/10	Most of us really hate doing something over again. Of course most of the time we don’t have Wendy Divine offering up some very good reasons to do so. 2/28/10	Maverick and 247AdultStars begin the "official" Adult Entertainment Expo coverage, which makes those of us waiting on the reports from Lon and Steve just a little nervous, quite honestly. If you think about it, one doesn’t need to spend much time writing two or three hundred words, particularly when you’re talking about the contributors around here. Oh well, in typical fashion we’ve decided to panic about that bridge when we suddenly have to cross it, and at least Mav decided to break this mega-event up into four parts. Apparently there’s a big hockey game at the Olympics that people want to watch anyway. At least hockey makes some kind of sense as a sport, we’ll give it that. 2/23/10	Granted most people in the adult business probably don’t look at the Tiger Woods situation the same way as more "regular" folks do. We certainly don’t want to look at it as often, that’s for sure. It seems to us (at least the males) here, that no one has ever asked the question we really all want to know. How the heck can you be that famous and get away with it that many times with that many women? 2/21/10	We’re not sure how many of you actually watch the world competitions going on up in Vancouver right now, but we do have a question for any of you that might be more knowledgeable than we seem to be. 12/31/09	Did you know that the term “Blue Moon” technically refers to the second full moon in a given calendar month? Now that pretty much sums up the educational value from a purely scientific perspective, but Maverick chose this last day of 2009 to celebrate his continuing love of breasts (which happens a lot more often than once in a blue moon, as you might know). Given close inspection here, we’re all perfectly prepared to defend the position that Syren Sexton has two characteristics relevant to this discussion that could give one a reminder of full moons, though, and there are, by definition then, two of them in a calendar month, so maybe this all closes out the year quite nicely. 12/23/09	We could make polite conversation about the weather, because it seems that the entire country finds itself suffering from a cold spell. We’re also unveiling yet another update to the navigational system in the Members’ Area, just so you know. Honestly we’re hoping that bit of historic misery does not portend anything at all in our circumstance. We’re a tad intrepid about this whole thing, as it turns out, as the effort could have the impact of foisting our foibles to the forefront. 12/5/09	Presumably one can become desensitized to anything. If you can believe detective novels, law enforcement officers begin to simply accept how bad human beings can be toward each other. An Emergency Medical Technician must develop some ability to accept the gore they might see as a regular part of life, and just get on with their jobs. Even lawyers eventually learn to accept one another. It seems to happen, after all. Similarly, in the sex business, our threshold for outrageous behavior must by definition expand as we go along. 11/15/09	One of the basic tenets around here for the last ten years has been that we should always show the adult industry in its actual light, however dim that may be. After all, only network television routinely scripts “reality” shows, and having a bunch of isolated writers, some making tens of thousands of dollars per episode, set about determining how things “should” be to “look” real has always seemed, well, silly to us. I don’t remember exactly how, but if you’ve spent any time with us, you know the topic can quickly shift from just about anything to a beautiful woman — and then to that same woman naked. At some point I asked if anyone knew how many tattoos Julia has, which was a trivia question at one of the member’s parties. I didn’t know the answer then, and I still don’t today, but if anyone has a guess, I’d be willing to personally check with Ms. Ann to see if you’re right. … We had to cut Just Steve off here, explaining how we really try diligently not to ramble, at least in the introductory section of a story. 11/3/09	Two common, albeit amazingly distinct, definitions come to mind when thinking of “The Golden Rule” , neither of which seem to steadily rule the roost when it comes to adult movies, at least in a microeconomic sense. Although certainly the women in the business appreciate a hearty being done unto, they pretty much make the rules even if they haven’t socked away a whole bunch of gold yet.
